Charateristics of VCO(Voltage Controlled Oscillator) using LTCC Technology (LTCC기술을 이용한 VCO(Voltage Controlled Oscillator) 개발)

  • VCO(Voltage Contolled Oscillator) is one of the main components governing the size, performance and power consumption of telecommunication devices. As the devices become much smaller, YCO need to hove much smaller size with better characteristics. Buried type passive components of L, C, R were developed previously and the structure of these components are good for minimizing the size of VCO. Our own library of passive components is used in simulation and measurement circuit designed by ourselve. In structure of multi-layered VCO, some components governing the characteristics of VCO are selected and placed on the top of oscilltor for the good tuning process. In resonator part, the stripline structure and low loss glass/ceramic material are used to get higher Q value. In our research, a VCO oscillates in the 2.3~2.36 GHz band is developed.

  • The development of telecommunication and information technology requires to develop new piezoelectric materials with small size, low impedance, wide pass band width and high thermal stability of frequency. Langasite (La3Ga5SiO14) single crystal has been researched substitute of quartz and LiNbO3 for the applications of SAW filter, BAW filter and resonator. Its single crystal growth has been carried out by Czochralski Method. So, in order to get single crystal with higher quality, in this study, lnagasite (La3Ga5SiO14) single crystal was grown by using Floating Zone (FZ) method and characterized. For the growth of langasite single crystals, the langasite powder was synthesized at 135$0^{\circ}C$ for 5hrs and the feed rod was sintered at 135$0^{\circ}C$ for 5hrs. The growing rate was 1.5mm/h and the rotation speed was 15 rpm for an upper rotation and 13 rpm for a lower rotation. In order to prevent the evaporation of gallium oxide, Ar and O2 gas mixture was flowed. The growth direction was analyzed by Laue back-scattered analysis. The composition of grown crystal was analyzed suing XRD and WDS. The electrical properties of grown crystal at various frequencies and temperature were discussed.

  • VCO(Voltage Controlled Oscillator) is one of the main components governing the size, performance and power consumption of telecommunication devices. Our own library of passive components is used in simulation and fabrication of VCO circuit, and surface mounted components like varactor diode are analysed using the measurement circuit designed by ourselves. Two-Dimensional simulation of VCO circuit and local three-Dimensional structure simulation are performed and their relation is obtained. In structure of multi-layered VCO, some components governing the characteristics of VCO are selected and placed on the top of oscillator for the good tuning process. In resonator part, the stripline structure and low loss glass/ceramic material are used to get higher Q value. In our research, a VCO oscillates in the 2.3∼2.36 GHz band is developed.

  • The AIS(Automatic Identification System) transmits the position of ships and other information to prevent accidents which could occur in the sea. It has to be developed SOTDMA(Self-Organized Time Division Multiple Access) Algorithm which is important on wireless communication method for the AIS because It is based on ITU(International Telecommunication Union) M.1371-1 of the international standard therefore, we need to develop a performance evaluation simulator efficiently to develop and analyze SOTDMA Algorithm. This paper shows the method of designing it. Real ships access The VHF maritime mobile band but in this performance evaluation simulator several ship objects access the shared memory. Real ships are designed as the object and the wireless communication channel is designed as the shared memory. The ships apply for real virtual data which got from assistance hardware and The SOTDMA Algorithm driving state verifies the performance evaluation simulator by IEC(International Electrotechnical commission) 61993-2. After verifying results the performance evaluation simulator is correctly satisfied with IEC 61993-2. So we expect that it helps not only the AIS technology developed but also verify new SOTDMA Algorithm.

  • This paper presents a novel bandpass filter design method for suppressing spurious response in the GSM band and effectively reducing the overall size with the unbalanced-conditioned metamaterials. Compared to the conventional bandpass filters based on half-or quarter-wave resonators, the CRLH(composite right/left-handed) bandpass filter works excellently in harmonic-suppression by 40$\sim$50 dB and 80 %-miniaturization using the zero-order resonators bridged by Inductive-coupling Inverters suggested first time. The proposed technique, with the equivalent circuit and dispersion diagram, is validated by performance predictions and experiments.

  • The very purpose of subband codec is the attainment of data rate compression through the use of quantizer and optimum bit allocation for each decimated signal. Yet the question of floating-point quantization effects in subband codec has received scant attention. There has been no direct focus on the analysis of quantization errors, nor on design with quantization errors embedded explicitly in the criterion. This paper provides a rigorous theory for the modelling, analysis and optimum design of the general M-band subband codec in the presence of the floating-point quantization noise. The floating-point quantizers are embedded into the codec structure by its equivalent multiplicative noise model. We then decompose the analysis and synthesis subband filter banks of the codec into the polyphase form and construct an equivalent time-invariant structure to compute exact expression for the mean square quantization error in the reconstructed an equivalent time-invariant structure to compute exact expression for the mean square quantization error in the reconstructed output. The optimum design criteria of the subband codec is given to the design of the analysis/synthesis filter bank and the floating-point quantizer to minimize the output mean square error. Specific optimum design examples are developed with two types of filter of filter banks-orthonormal and biorthogonal filter bank, along with their perpormance analysis.

  • Remote sensing and measurement are of paramount importance of providing information on the state of water quality in water bodies. The formation and growth of cyanobacteria is of serious concern to in land aquatic life forms and human life. The main cause of water quality deterioration stems from anthropogenic induced eutrophication. The goal of this research to quantify and determine the spatial distribution of cyanobacteria concentration in the water using remote sensing technique. The standard approach to measure water quality based on the direct measurement of the fluorescence of the chlorophyll a in the living algal cells and the same approach used to detect the phycobilin pigments found in blue-green algae (a.k.a. cyanobacteria), phycocyanin and phycoerythrin. This paper propose the emerging sensor design to measure the water quality based on the optical analysis by fluorescence of the phycocyanin pigment. In this research, we developed an method to sense and quantify to derive phycocyanin intensity index for estimating cyanobacteria concentrations. The development of the index was based on the reflectance difference between visible light band 620nm and 665nm. As a result of research this paper presents, an optical biological sensor design information to measure the Phycocyanin parameters in water content.

  • While South Korea's wire and witless communications attain a world-wide level in the latest information-oriented society, North Korea's communications infra get fared with underdeveloped situation even not to meet a basic telephone demand as the 70's in South korea. The exchange and cooperation between the Sout h and North' korea's in the formation & telecommunication field implies the important point that makes ready for the reunification of North and South as the core of the exchange and cooperation in an economic and society, other field. Therefore a communications satellite as the infrastructure for the network construction preparing the reunification can be the most suitable plan for the communication infrastructure in korea's area be cause it is easy to build a network and gets an advantage to service all area of south anti north korea at a n/time.

  • In this paper, we explain the combined scheme of multi-code modulation and trans-orthogonal modulation. The name of the explained scheme is the multi-code trans-orthogonal modulation. Additionally, we propose a multi-code trans-biorthogonal modulation scheme, which is a little more improved multi-code trans-orthogonal modulation. We show the performance of the proposed schemes and compare the performance of the proposed schemes with the orthogonal modulation by using the computer simulation. According to the computer simulations, we can know that the bandwidth efficiency of the proposed schemes is better than that of the conventional orthogonal modulation. The proposed schemes can be used in physical layer of digital wireless telecommunication system to provide high speed data rate.

  • National Radio Research Agency(RRA) has legislated technical regulations of telecommunication equipments. These technical regulations are related to safety of operators and users, service quality, accessibility for the disabled, interoperability and network connection of terminal equipment. Also, RRA drives the establishment or amendment of technical regulations for terminal equipment considering the evolution of ICT technicology and diversification of services. In 2013, RRA researched the amendment of technical regulations in relation to terminal equipment, which are related to the measurement frequency for signal band power, unwanted signal power, pulse shape.
