팀 다양성과 과업난이도가 팀 창의성에 미치는 영향 : 다중 에이전트 시뮬레이션 접근방법을 중심으로 (Investigating the Effect of Both Team Diversity and Task Difficulty on Team Creativity : Multi-Agent Simulation Approach)

  • In the management literature, it has been widely accepted among both researchers and practitioners that the level of team creativity is significantly related to the organizational performance. Besides, researchers posited with confidence that team diversity and task difficulty would affect team creativity through team members' activities of exploration and exploitation. However, empirical approaches to proving this belief suffered from lack of real data and proper methods as well. To tackle the research void like this, we propose a multi-agent simulation (MAS) mechanism. By adopting a set of parameters which validity were proven in the related literature, we conducted a series of experiments in the environment of the MAS platform named NetLogo. There sults suggest that managers can differentiate team diversity strategies according to task difficulty. In the case of a difficult task, managers need to increase team diversity so that their teams can maximize team creativity through rigorous exploration and exploitation. It is desirable to maintain an average level of team diversity when performing an easy task.

공학설계수업에서 팀 성격구성이 팀 창의성에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Team Personality Composition on Team Creativity in Engineering Design Class)

  • 본 연구는 설계교과목에서 팀 프로젝트를 수행한 학생들을 대상으로 팀의 성격구성과 팀 창의성 간의 관계를 파악하기 위해 수행되었다. 공대생 249명, 총 48개 팀을 대상으로 성격 5요인에 대해 성격요인 상승(TPE) 및 성격요인 다양성(TPD)이 팀 창의성과 어떤 관계를 갖는 지를 알아보았다. 그 결과, 외향성과 개방성은 성격요인 다양성(TPD)이 팀 창의성과 관련이 있는 반면, 성실성, 호감성, 신경증은 성격요인 상승(TPE)이 팀 창의성과 관련이 있었다. 본 연구결과의 제한점과 후속연구를 위한 제언이 논의되었다.

ICT 서비스 스타트업의 성공조건 : 팀 창의성, 지식공유 그리고 흡수역량 (Key Success Factors for ICT Service Startup Team : Team Creativity, Knowledge Sharing and Absorptive Capacity)

  • In this research, we tried to suggest the guidelines to stakeholder of ICT startup for picking up the excellent startups and nurturing them. We designed the research model focused on the good startup team's knowledge based interaction mechanism. A research model and hypotheses were developed from literature review and empirically validated. The research model consisted relationship among the knowledge sharing (knowledge donation and knowledge collection), absorptive capacity (member's ability and member's motivation), team creativity, and innovation capability. Data were collected from ICT Service Startups, and a partial least squares (PLS) analysis was made on 175 data points. The analysis results showed that absorptive capacity has significant effect on team creativity and innovation capability directly. And also it has indirect effect on the dependent variable through team creativity. On the contrary, knowledge sharing does not have statistically significant effect on team creativity and innovation capability; only have an effect on absorptive capacity. Based on the results, we proposed several team management skills for ICT startup leaders and members, and the guidelines to stakeholder such as government and private investors. Also there are some ideas for startup nurturing polices for government officers. Theoretical contributions are discussed at the end with limitations and further studies.

정부출연 연구기관 연구개발팀의 창의성 제고 관리방안에 관한 연구 : 부서장과 구성원 관점의 비교 (A Study on the Improvement of Creativity of R&D Team in Government-Funded Research Institutes : Comparative Study on the Viewpoints of Leaders and Members)

  • 본 연구는 정부출연연구기관의 연구개발팀 창의성을 제고할 수 있는 방안을 체계적인 실증연구를 통해 규명하려는 연구이다. 이를 위해 집단창의성에 대한 기존연구에 기초하여 연구모형을 설정하고 이를 실증연구를 통해 검증하였다. 구체적으로, 첫째, 팀의 특성, 팀 효능 감의 팀 창의성에 대한 영향관계를 규명하고, 둘째, 팀 특성과 팀 창의성간에 있어 팀 효능 감의 매개효과를 검증한다. 실증연구는 정부출연연구기관의 102개 연구개발팀을 대상으로 하였다. 팀 창의성 측정에 있어서는 부서장에 의한 평가와 구성원 자체 평가를 병행하는 방법을 택하였다. 이는 평가의 정확성을 높임과 동시에 두 주체의 관점의 차이를 비교하기 위해서이다. 분석결과 팀 특성 중 응집성이 팀 창의성과 정적 관련성이 있었고, 팀 효능감은 팀 다양성, 팀 자율성과 팀 창의성의 관계에서 매개역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 본 연구의 시사점과 제한점 추후 연구과제에 대해여 논의 하였다.

Training-Effectiveness and Team-Performance in Public Organization

  • This study aims to invest in empirical relationships in a model that becomes the process of Team-Performance due to participation in practical training through causality between Training Effectiveness variables, soft-skill competence, Employee-Creativity, and team performance. This study uses a quantitative approach. The analytical tool used is structural equation modeling (SEM) using AMOS version 23 software. Accidental sampling technique is used to collect the sample. As many as 202 respondents filled up a survey questionnaire with complete and valid answers. This study's results significantly contribute to fill the gap of inadequate empirical evidence that can answer critical questions about the missing link between training and employee-performance, more specifically between training-effectiveness and team-performance. The results showed that practical training would encourage employees' soft-skill competence, improve Employee-Creativity, and improve Team-Performance. Furthermore, training-effectiveness also plays a significant role in enhancing employee-creativity and helping in optimal team-performance. This study also found that the relationship between employee-creativity and team-performance did not show positive and significant results; therefore, empirically, it did not support the hypothesis built in this study. Practical training targeted towards increasing soft-skills and creativity is a fundamental reason which not only aims to contribute toward organizational performance but also provides personal feedback for self-development.

공학설계강좌에서 셀프리더십 역량 및 공학설계 자기효능감과 팀 창의성 지각의 관계 (Relationships among Self-Leadership, Engineering Design Self-Efficacy, and Perceived Team Creativity in Engineering Desing Class)

  • This study investigated the mediating effect of engineering design self-efficacy on the relationship between self-leadership and perceived team creativity. Participants were 110 engineering college students pursuing team projects. Engineering design self-efficacy showed complete mediation effects on the relationships between perceived team creativity and self-reward and evaluating beliefs and assumptions. Partial mediation effect of engineering design self-efficacy was found on the relationship between perceived team creativity and natural reward. Finally, limitations of this study and suggestions for future studies were discussed.

The Effects of Job Characteristics on the Team Creativity of Distribution Companies: Moderating Effects of Transformational Leadership

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the causal relationship between job characteristics and creativity. The role of transformational leadership is also examined. To identify the relationship between core team job characteristics and transformational leadership, an empirical survey was conducted through surveys of domestic distribution companies. Among the collected questionnaires, missing and insincere responses were excluded and 636 individuals of 107 teams were used for the SPSS 18 analysis. It was found that job meaningfulness was positively related to team creativity and transformational leadership also had a significant effect. Task feedback was shown to be an important factor on the motivation to perform tasks successfully. In the case of transformational leadership, this leadership style helped individuals overcome fear by providing support, sympathy, and consideration to create novel ideas. But, its effects were different on team creativity when it interacted with core job characteristics. Departments where creativity is highly emphasized within an organization are able to design job characteristics which fit the task at hand. Moreover, transformational leadership brings about different effects on team creativity when it interacts with job characteristics. The findings of this study suggest that organizations should consider characteristics of tasks and individuals as well when conducting education and training.

  • This study was conducted to compare team creativity and creative problem solving styles between heterogeneous and homogeneous teams. Team composition was based on the levels of openness and extraversion. The results indicated that heterogeneous teams showed higher team creativity scores than homogeneous teams. Frequency distributions of creative problem solving styles indicated that heterogeneous team members preferred developer, external, and task-oriented styles. Homogeneous team members preferred explorer and person-oriented styles. Finally, limitations of this study and suggestions for future studies were discussed.

The role of positive affect in virtual collaboration: a transactive memory system perspective

  • Creative performance has been regarded as the key to the success of an organization in recent years, and is considered essential for the survival of an organization. Organizations must find and develop creative solutions to deal with a variety of business issues. How can organizations become more creative? To develop creativity, organizations must make it easier to connect the knowledge and perspectives of its various members, who may be scattered around the world, by developing a virtual team. Drawing from the transactive memory systems (TMS), which include expertise location, credibility, and coordination, this study investigates how the positive affect of team members influences the development of creative performance during virtual collaboration where face-to-face team activities are limited. The proposed structured model was empirically tested with cross-sectional data from 322 individuals. Results indicated that the positive affect of team members was found to moderate the relationship between TMS and creativity. Through this study, we expect to provide an understanding of the mechanisms involved in developing creativity among team members in a virtual work environment.

  • 기술개발 프로젝트에서 성과를 높이기 위해서는 창의성이 필요하며, 창의성을 높이기 위해서는 업무지시에 대한 명확한 이해력이 필요하다. 본 연구는 팀효능감과 지식공유가 커뮤니케이션 역량에 미치는 영향과, 커뮤니케이션 역량이 개인창의성 및 제품개발성과에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 분석하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 기술개발 프로젝트에서 커뮤니케이션 역량과 개인창의성의 중요성을 검증하고, 커뮤니케이션 역량에 대한 향상 방안을 제언하기 위함이다. 기술 개발 참여자들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 요인간의 관계를 구조방정식 모형으로 확인하였다. 가설검증 결과, 팀효능감과 지식공유가 커뮤니케이션 역량에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤고, 팀리더의 확실한 업무지시 전달과 실무자의 명확한 업무지시 이해가 개인창의성에 주요한 요인임을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구결과는 첨단기술이 융복합되는 기술개발 프로젝트에서, 개인창의성 향상에 필요한 참여자의 커뮤니케이션 역량을 제고하는데 기여할 수 있을 것이다. 향후에는 조직 수준의 창의성에 대한 커뮤니케이션 역량의 효과에 대해 연구하고자 한다.
