Terahertz Time Domain Spectroscopy, T-Ray Imaging and Wireless Data Transfer Technologies

  • This study reviewed terahertz technologies of time domain spectroscopy, T-ray imaging, and high rate wireless data transfer. The main topics of the terahertz research area were investigation of materials and package modules for terahertz wave generation and detection, and setup of the terahertz system for time domain spectroscopy(TDS), T-ray imaging and sub-THz wireless communication. In addition to Poly-GaAs film as a photoconductive switching antenna material, a table-top scale for the THz-TDS/imaging system and terahertz continuous wave(CW) generation systems for sub-THz data transfer and narrow band T-ray imaging were designed. Dielectric properties of ferroelectric BSTO($Ba_xSr_{1-x}TiO_3$) films and chalcogenide glass systems were characterized with the THz-TDS system at the THz frequency range. Package modules for terahertz wave transmitter/receiver(Tx/Rx) photoconductive antenna were developed.

기업가적 리더십이 팀 성과에 미치는 영향 - 팀 효능감의 매개효과를 중심으로 (The Influence of Entrepreneurial Leadership on Team Performance -Focusing on the Mediating Role of Team Efficacy)

  • 조직성과를 창출하기 위해 리더십에 대해 끊임없이 많은 연구가 있어왔지만, 4차 산업혁명 시대의 변화에 적응하기 위해 팀 리더들의 역할에 주목한 연구는 많이 없었다. 이에, 본 연구에서는 현 시대의 필요한 리더의 기업가적 리더십이 팀 성과 사이에서 팀 효능감을 매개변수로 하여 어떠한 영향을 미치는지에 대해 연구하고자 한다. 이를 검증하기 위해 중국 소재 기업의 총 79개 팀, 530명의 팀원을 대상으로 데이터를 수집하고 SPSS와 AMOS을 사용하여 분석한 결과, 기업가적 리더십이 팀 성과에 정(+)의 영향이 있으며, 기업가적 리더십과 팀 성과 간의 관계에서 팀 효능감이 긍정적인 매개역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 사람과 성과를 동시에 추구하는 팀워크 관점에서 팀 리더들의 기업가적 리더십의 중요성과 팀 효능감을 향상시키는 중요성을 밝힌 것에 그 의의가 있다. 향후 팀 차원뿐만 아니라 개인 차원의 자기효능감과 창업의향을 포함한 폭 넓은 연구를 계속 진행할 계획이다.

Estrogenic Activity of Persistent Organic Pollutants and Parabens Based on the Stably Transfected Human Estrogen Receptor-α Transcriptional Activation Assay (OECD TG 455)

  • Screening of estrogenic activity on dichloro diphenyl trichloroethane (DDT), dichloro diphenyl dichloro ethylene (DDE), dieldrin, heptachlor, aldrin, chlordane, lindane, polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) and parabens was compared using Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) test guideline 455 (TG455). The estrogenic activity of DDT was 58,000-fold ($PC_{50}$, $1.67{\times}10^{-6}$ M) less than $17{\beta}$-estradiol($E_2$) ($PC_{50}$, $2.88{\times}10^{-11}$ M) but DDE, dieldrin, heptachlor, aldrin, chlordane, lindane and PBDE did not show any estrogenic activity in this assay system. In the case of paraben compounds, the rank of relative transcriptional activation (logRTA) was butyl paraben -1.63752 ($PC_{50}$, $1.25{\times}10^{-7}$ M) > isobutyl paraben -2.34008 ($PC_{50}$, $6.3{\times}10^{-7}$ M) > ethyl paraben -2.64016 ($PC_{50}$, $1.26{\times}10^{-6}$ M) > isopropyl paraben -2.73993 ($PC_{50}$, $1.58{\times}10^{-6}$ M) > propyl paraben -2.84164 ($PC_{50}$, $2.0{\times}10^{-6}$ M). Our data suggest that OECD test guideline TG455 may be useful as a screening tool for potential endocrine disruptors.

Balancing Efficiency and Flexibility in Software Project: The Role of Team Collective Improvisation, behavioral integration, and member diversity

  • The successful management of software (SW) projects is a continuous concern to managers, which is attributed to the contradictory demands that most projects are facing; meeting user requirements within time and budget limit while flexibly dealing risks during the progress of the projects. The present study asserts project performance and risk mitigation are not tradeoff but to be achieved simultaneously, which is called SW project ambidexterity. Drawing on the literature on organizational behavior, hypotheses are developed speculating the relation among project performance, risk mitigation, team collective improvisation, team behavioral integration, and team diversity. Using empirical data collected from 102 SW project teams of 507 team members in South Korea, empirical analysis indicates team collective improvisation is a significant antecedent to SW project ambidexterity, playing a pivotal role to balance the contradictory demands. Furthermore, team behavioral integration positively influences the degree of team collective improvisation, and the magnitude of the relation is partially contingent on the team members' age and major diversity. The present study advances theory by providing a context specific explanation about the SW project ambidexterity and its precedents.

병원조직에서 간호팀장의 팀제 경험 (Team Managers' Experience With a Team System in the Hospital)

  • Purpose: The purpose of the study was to understand and describe the team manager's experience in relation to the team system in the hospital organization. Methods: In-depth individual interviews for collection of data were conducted from October to November 2011. Participants were chosen purposely among team managers who had worked as team managers under the team manager system in Seoul for more than three years. Content of all interviews was recorded and transcribed according to information collected by interviewers. Data were analyzed using Colaizzi's analysis. Results: Six categories were derived from the analysis: 1) Strengthening of team manager's authority; 2) Sharing of multifaceted leadership role; 3) Demonstrating people-oriented leadership; 4) Complete interpersonal relationship and communication; 5) Self-empowering with web-like plans and practices; and 6) Going through rigorous commitment for team performance. Conclusion: Results of the study demonstrate various positive factors in association with the team system in spite of the short period of time since its introduction in the hospital organization; however, some negative aspects of the team system need to be reevaluated.

팀 내외 지식공유가 R&D 성과에 미치는 영향 : 연구개발단계의 조절효과를 중심으로 (The Effect of Knowledge Sharing within and Outside the Team on the R&D Performance : The Moderating Role of R&D Stages)

  • This study explores the role of knowledge sharing activities among team members and performance in R&D setting. Knowledge sharing activities are classified into two : Knowledge sharing activity within/outside team. And the relationships between the knowledge activities and R&D performance are also examined according to three R&D stages : basic, applied, and developmental research. A empirical study was conducted at a research institute of large company that leads the advanced research and development of the domestic chemical industry. Data was collected 292 copies out of 500 copies (Response rate 58.4%). The result indicated that knowledge sharing within and outside the team has a positive effect on R&D Performance. In particular, knowledge sharing within the team has a greater effect on R&D outcomes in basic research stage. Knowledge sharing outside the team has a greater effect on R&D outcomes in the development research stage. In the R&D organization, it is important that members of the team are well-connected and understanding each other, but they should encourage positive relationships with external members of the team. Depending on the R&D field of the team, the basic research field should concentrate more on knowledge sharing within the team, while the development research field should focus more on knowledge sharing outside the team.

Quantitative Analysis: Team management for Better Employee Performance in the US Retail Supply Chain

  • Purpose: Former research has argued that organizations in distribution channels face several issues to make a better team-based system. The purpose of the present research is to measure between employee's job performance and three major issues which disturb a solid team system. Research design, data and methodology: Scant past studies are available to guide for team practitioners which elements should be eliminated to improve team performance. To achieve this goal, the present authors obtained 267 US workers in distribution channels and conducted ANOVA test to measure the relationship between three team issues (Free-rider, Trust, and Communication) and job performance. Results: Our statistical findings clearly suggests that there was a statistically recognizable difference at the significance level of probability between the mean value of employees' job performance and three major issues, showing the high degree of job performance can be occurred by eliminating three major team issues. Conclusions: Therefore, the present research concludes that it is necessary that team-based management in the supply chain should focus on removing free-rider issues and also adopt open communication lines to overcome team-building challenges due to communication. Above all else, the ability to increase trust can be enhanced via task delegation and more team members' engagement.

Examining the Relationship among Organizational Justice, Athlete Satisfaction, Team Commitment, and Organizational Citizenship Behavior in College Athletes

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the structural relationship among organizational justice, athlete satisfaction, team commitment, and organizational citizenship behavior toward college athletes. To achieve this purpose, this study employed a convenience sampling method via a questionnaire dissemination. A total of 285 responses were collected from college athletes. Among those, 21 responses were excluded as they were not completed, leaving 264 usable data. The data was computed in SPSS 28.0 and AMOS 28.0, and analyzed with correlation analysis, reliability analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and structural equation modeling analysis. Overall, organizational justice had a positive influence on athlete satisfaction, team commitment, and organizational citizenship behavior. Athlete satisfaction had a positive influence on team commitment and organizational citizenship behavior. However, there was no relationship between team commitment and organizational citizenship behavior. These findings provided empirical foundational data on the impact of organizational justice on psychological and behavioral outcomes and the overall efficiency and effectiveness of organizations, with a focus on college athletes who played a central role in the context of college sports setting.

초등예비교사의 교수역량 증진을 위한 팀 기반 프로젝트 학습 실행 및 효과 (Performing and Effects Team-Based Learning Program for improving of Teaching Competencies of Pre-service Elementary School Teachers)

  • This study expects that Team Based Project Learning can act positive role to improve pre-service elementary teachers' teaching competence from previous studies. So designing and executing Team Based Project Learning program, I can provide some suggestions to the teaching method for teacher training education. In this study, Team Based Project Learning focuses on the use of history of mathematics in school mathematics. Also from organizing the team to evaluation, I conduct team activity systematically both inside and outside the classroom. The result of this study shows that pre-service elementary teachers' teaching competence has improved and I could identify the positive response about the value of using the history of mathematics and effect of Team Based Project Learning in mathematics learning.

Novel Oxide Thin Film Transistors for Transparent AMOLED

  • We have fabricated the transparent TFTs using new oxide material (AZTO: Al-doped zinc tin oxide) as an active layer. The AZTO TFT showed good performance without post-annealing. The electrical characteristics were improved by the post-annealing up to $300^{\circ}C$. The AZTO TFTs exhibited a mobility of $8{\sim}12\;cm^2/Vs$, a sub-threshold swing of 0.2~0.6 V/dec, and an on/off ratio of more than $10^9$.
