Purpose : The purpose of this research is to develop the optimized method and process in the reliability-growth target setting, especially for complex and repairable system (or products) such as vehicle and airplane, construction equipment. Method : A reliability-growth test plan specifies a scenario to achieve the planned reliability value (or reliability target). The major elements in test planning are reliability-growth starting time and reliability level at that time, reliability-growth rate and reliability-growth target. All of them except a reliability target can be referred to the previous development data and reference researches. The reliability target level is directly influencing to test period (or time) which is related to test and warranty cost together. There are a few researches about the reliability target setting method and but showing the limitations to consider the views of engineering, business and customer together. There is no research how to handle the target setting process in detail. Result : We develop the optimized method and systematic process in reliability target setting with considering such views. This research also establish the new concept as production capability which means company (or supplier) capability to product its products. Conclusion : In this research result, we apply the new method to a few projects and can set the reasonable test planning. The developing results is showing the good balance between the developing cost and warranty cost at market.

Government evaluate annually a performance of government's R&D(Research & Development) and decide a budget and progress. So, a performance target setting of R&D is very important at the planning, The basic performance target setting of railroad R&D is clear. However, a scientific and technological performance target setting of railroad R&D is very difficult and a reasonable level of it can not be judged. Therefore, this study will suggest a solution for a scientific and technological performance target setting of railroad R&D through regression analysis of successfully finished railroad R&D, after judging a reasonability of a scientific and technological performance through comparing railroad R&D with the other R&D.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of goal-setting on Eco-driving behaviors. An additional purpose was to examine whether setting goals on target behaviors has spread effects on non-target Eco-driving behaviors. Three office workers who drive regularly participated in this study. An AB multiple baseline design was adopted. After baseline (A), participants set goals on two or three target behaviors(e.g., over speeding, put the gears in neutral, extreme acceleration) (B). Results showed that goal-setting was effective in increasing the targeted Eco-driving behaviors. In Addition, most of the non-target Eco-driving behaviors(e.g., extreme break, extreme acceleration) increased.

The products to meet the requirement of are installed in nuclear power plant and the reliability target should be provided in the requirement. However, it is not easy to set a reliability target using quantitative analysis. The objective of this paper is to propose a method of reliability target setting considered warranty cost for process controller and then compare a reliability target with reliability analysis result.

Target operational availability setting is the first step to setting up a goal which a weapon system development project have to achieve and doing RAM analysis during whole life of a weapon system. It is important as a key factor to doing RAM analysis in the early phase of weapon system development. This paper present a methodology to set a target operational availability for, especially, a warship when it develop. This methodology uses Operational Mode Summary/Mission Profile(OMS/MP) of the developing warship and RAM analysis results of similar warships to calculate wartime and peacetime target operational availability. It will be used in early phase of not only warship development but also army or aircraft weapon systems when these develop.

This field study explores how varying target amounts influence donation behavior using real-world data from the online fundraising platform GoFundMe. We analyzed donation data across four different target amounts and found significant differences in donation patterns. Lower target amounts were found to encourage higher individual donations, while excessively high targets were less effective. The data revealed that donors tend to be more responsive to campaigns with achievable goals, possibly due to a perceived higher impact of their contributions. Conversely, campaigns with unrealistically high targets often struggled to gain traction, suggesting a potential donor deterrent effect. We believe these findings provide practical insights for nonprofits on setting realistic and achievable target amounts to maximize donations. Our study underscores the importance of strategic target setting in enhancing fundraising outcomes. We conclude that this insight has significant implications for how non-profit organizations approach their fundraising strategies, potentially improving the effectiveness of online charitable campaigns.

본 연구는 정시성의 목표값이 운영 요구조건으로 주어지고 이를 달성하지 못한 해당연도에는 철도운영자에게 패널티가 부과되는 상황에서 철도시스템의 신뢰도 목표값을 설정하는 문제를 다룬다. 철도시스템의 신뢰도에 따라 총 운영기간동안 패널티 부과 회수가 달라지기 때문에 철도운영자는 이를 고려하여 철도시스템 및 하위시스템에 대해 신뢰도 목표값을 설정할 필요가 있다. 본 논문은 철도운영자가 운영기간 동안의 패널티 부과회수를 고려하여 철도시스템의 서비스 신뢰도 목표로 설정할 수 있도록 철도시스템 및 하위시스템의 서비스 고장 간 거리에 따라 연간 패널티 부과 확률 및 철도시스템의 운영연수 동안 패널티 부과 회수를 산출하는 절차 및 계산식을 제안한다.

Setting RAM target value for a defense system plays a crucial role in the development and design phases and the production phase as well. It is apparent that the achieved RAM target value can help maximizing the combat capability of a defense system and improving its performance throughout the system's life cycle from acquisition phase to disposal. Usually a defense system operates according to its OMS/MP (Operational Mode Summary / Mission Profile) and it consists of several subsystems which are supposed to be operated at each utilization rate under its operating conditions and the mission profiles assigned. In this study, a method of setting RAM target value is proposed for a defense system that are composed of several independent subsystems considering their utilization rates and the mission profiles assigned. And the case study of applying the proposed method of setting RAM target value to system A is dealt with.
