김치포장의 압력 및 부피 변화에 영향을 미치는 인자의 분석 (Analysis of Variables Influencing the Pressure Build-up and Volume Expansion of Kimchi Package)

  • A mathematical model was established for estimating changes in pressure and volume of permeable kimchi packages. The model comprises the CO2 gas production from kimchi and permeation of O2, CO2 and N2 through the permeable film or sheet. Using the developed model, the effects of various packaging variables on the pressure and volume changes were analyzed for rigid and flexible packag es of kimchi(3% salt content) at 15oC, and then effect of storage temperature was also looked into. In case of rigid pack of 400g, using the plastic sheet of high CO2 permeability and initial vacuumizing can help to relieve the problem of pressure build up. The lower fill weight can further reduce the pressure, but will result in higher packaging cost. For the flexible package of 3 kg, highly permeable films such as low density polyethylene(LDPE) and polypropylene can reduce the volume expansion. Higher ratio of CO2 permeability to O2 and N2 permeabilities are effective in reducing the volume expansion. Increased surface area cannot contribute to reduction of volume expansion for highly permeable flexible packages of kimchi. For the impermeable packages, pressure and volume at over ripening stage (acidity 1.0%) increase with decreased temperature, while those at optimum ripening stage(acidity 0.6%) change little with temperature. Pressure of permeable rigid LDPE package increases with tem perature at any ripening stage, and temperature affects the volume of flexible LDPE package very slightly. Experimental verification of the present results and package design with economical consid eration are needed as a next step for practical application.

Evaluation of Thermal Deformation Model for BGA Packages Using Moire Interferometry

  • A compact model approach of a network of spring elements for elastic loading is presented for the thermal deformation analysis of BGA package assembly. High-sensitivity moire interferometry is applied to evaluate and calibrated the model quantitatively. Two ball grid array (BGA) package assemblies are employed for moire experiments. For a package assembly with a small global bending, the spring model can predict the boundary conditions of the critical solder ball excellently well. For a package assembly with a large global bending, however, the relative displacements determined by spring model agree well with that by experiment after accounting for the rigid-body rotation. The shear strain results of the FEM with the input from the calibrated compact spring model agree reasonably well with the experimental data. The results imply that the combined approach of the compact spring model and the local FE analysis is an effective way to predict strains and stresses and to determine solder damage of the critical solder ball.

  • We carry out reliability tests and investigate the failure mechanisms. of the wafer level vacuum packaged MEMS gyroscope sensor using an accelerated degradation test. The accelerated degradation test (ADT) is used to evaluate reliability (and/or life) of the MEMS vacuum package and to select the accelerated test conditions, which reduce the reliability testing time. Using the failure distribution model and stress-life model, we are able to estimate the average life time of the vacuum package, which is well agreed with the measured data. After improving several package reliability issues such as prevention of gas diffusion through package, we carry out another set of accelerated tests at the chosen acceleration level. The results show that reliability of the vacuum packaged gyroscope has been greatly improved and can survive without degradation of performance, which is the Q-factor in gyroscope sensor, during environmental stress reliability tests.

  • 기술과 품질의 차이가 하루가 다르게 좁혀지고 있는 현대의 자유시장경제하에서 제품의 차별화를 위한 마케팅 전략은 더욱더 격화되는 디자인 경쟁에 의해 좌우되고 있다. 그 중에서도 제품의 외형을 통해 소비자에게 시각적으로 닿게 되는 패키지디자인은 가격이나 기능에 앞서 브랜드이미지에 영향을 미치는 직접적 커뮤니케이션이다. 패키지디자인은 제품을 포장, 운반, 보관하고 적재하는 기본 기능만이 아니라 효과적인 비주얼 이미지로 소구력을 높여 브랜드이미지를 각인시키고 구매결정을 이끈다. 최근의 패키지디자인은 캐릭터를 적극 활용하고 있는데 단지 캐릭터의 이미지만을 사용하는 것이 아니라 캐릭터의 형태가 패키지의 물적 구조와 융합된 입체적인 디자인으로 2차적 재미와 효과를 주고 있다. 이렇게 캐릭터를 잘 활용한 패키지디자인은 그 자체로 강력한 마케팅 수단이자 가치 있는 디자인 자산이며, 캐릭터를 활용하는 방식에 따라 그 부가가치는 더욱 증대될 수 있다. 위트 있는 아이디어로 판매 뿐 아니라 브랜드이미지 향상에 기여하는 캐릭터패키지는 대기업 뿐 아니라 다양한 제품군에서 효과적으로 사용할 수 있는 마케팅수단이다. 특히 지역단위를 넘어선 판매와 홍보에 절실한 지자체별 관광상품에 잘 활용한다면 단지 구매동기만을 유발시킬 뿐 아니라 패키지 자체가 관광자원이 되는 일석이조의 효과를 누릴 수 있다. 본 연구는 그 실례로 전북 전주의 한 지역브랜드를 마케팅하는 수단으로써 캐릭터패키지를 제안하여, 자체캐릭터를 개발하고 이를 패키지의 입체적 형태로 디자인하는 캐릭터패키지를 기획, 제작하였다. 그리고 이런 일련의 과정을 통해, 기존 브랜드의 이미지를 재정립하거나 강화하기 위한 브랜드마케팅 전략으로서의 패키지디자인을 제시하고자 한다.

플립칩 패키지의 열소산 최적화 연구 (A Study on the Optimization of Heat Dissipation in Flip-chip Package)

  • 전자패키징 기술의 발전에 따라 패키지의 소형화는 집적화에 따른 열 소산 면적 감소로 인하여 패키지의 온도 상승을 초래한다. 온도 상승은 소자의 성능을 저해하여, 시스템 고장을 발생을 유발시키며 수명을 단축시킨다. 본 연구에서는 마이크로 패턴과 세미 임베디드 구조를 결합하여 열 소산을 극대화 시킬 수 있는 새로운 구조를 제안하여 열특성을 평가하였다. 제안 구조의 열특성 평가 결과, 기존 구조에 비하여 최대 온도는 $20^{\circ}C$낮았으며, 범프의 최대 응력은 20%이상 감소하여 제안 구조의 유효성을 확인하였다.

  • It is necessary to recognize philosophical and scientific depth, contained in traditional culture in a correct fashion, in order to succeed and develop our excellent traditional culture. Some studies on storage, circulation, and package design of traditional food will multiple the added value of traditional culture. So this research was carried out for making packing cases of kinds of Korean dried confectionery using Hanji by traditional manufacturing method, Hanji textile, charcoal Hanji and jade Hanji, and for developing environmental-friendly Korean dried confectionery package as more luxurious packaging papers by putting an exterior design on the surface. The results measured physical properties, air permeability and anti-mold activity of Hanji, and designing Korean dried confectionery are as follows. The physical properties and air permeability used to manufacture Korean dried confectionery package, turned out to be no affection to the food packaging Hanji. In order to avoid the monotonousness of Korean dried confectionery package, it was designed with Hanji textile together with elegant traditional pattern. It is estimated to increase the value of Korean dried food and to make the anti-mold activity of Hanji added charcoal and jade effective. In conclusion, by developing individual properties of traditional food and proper packaging paper as well as packaging design according to circulating situation, it is considered that the taste and the fancy can be maximized. After all, by applying excellent traits contained in our race's culture, it is possible to develop the package cases into competitive ones. And it would be able to increase utilization of Hanji. Namely, production of high quality traditional food package with Hanji is expected for new valuable industry of Hanji.

  • In this paper, we propose a key management scheme which can provide delivery of the key used to encrypt a digital content from the package server to digital rights management (DRM) clients in a secure manner. The proposed scheme can protect digital content from attacks since an encrypted digital content is sent by a package server and only DRM clients can decrypt the encrypted digital content. It protects the key not only from purchasers but also among the other principals who manage the distribution and license servers.

  • In this paper, we showed parasitic effects in the millimeter wave package, and proposed a suppression method of parasitic effects using Si lossy layer. From CB-CPW used as a transmission line of the MIMIC package, PPL mode is generated and this causes the parasitic effects considered from this paper. Parasitic effects caused by PPL mode such as resonance, radiation, and crosstalk in the single and multi-chip package ran affect to the performance of MIMIC seriously. To suppress these parasitic effects, we adapted Si lossy layer $\rho$ . The PPL mode can be suppressed by the lossy layer, and it eliminates the parasitic effects. It is expected that showed results ran be used as luxurious data for design MIMICs and various types of millimeter wave applications.

디지털 방송 수신용 System in Package 설계 및 제작 (Design and Fabrication of the System in Package for the Digital Broadcasting Receiver)

  • This paper describes design and fabrication issues of the SiP(System in Package) one-chip for a portable digital broadcasting receiver. It includes RF tuner chip, demodulator chip and passive components for the receiver system. When we apply the SiP one-chip technology to the broadcasting receiver, the system board size can be reduced from $776mm^2$ to $144mm^2$. SiP one-chip has an advantage that the area reduces more 81% than separated chips. Also the sensitivity performance advances -1dBm about 36 channels in the RF weak electric field, the power consumption reduces about 2mW and the C/N keeps on the same level.

  • This paper presents a software development technique for EMS applications. The definite client-server configuration is proposed and EMS software package is developed. The developed EMS software package consists of AGC(Automatic Generation Control). Economic Dispatch. State Estimator. Contingency Analysis Simulator and Database Applications. In order to integrate each of the developed modules, EMS Network Server is developed. The proposed package is tested with a sample system. It is expected that the developed package can be easily applicable to the practical system.
