Real-Time Implementation of Acoustic Echo Canceller Using TMS320C6711 DSK

  • The interior of an automobile is a very noisy environment with both stationary cruising noise and the reverberated music or speech coming out from the audio system. For robust speech recognition in a car environment, it is necessary to extract a driver's voice command well by removing those background noises. Since we can handle the music and speech signals from an audio system in a car, the reverberated music and speech sounds can be removed using an acoustic echo canceller. In this paper, we implement an acoustic echo canceller with robust double-talk detection algorithm using TMS-320C6711 DSK. First we developed the echo canceller on the PC for verifying the performance of echo cancellation, then implemented it on the TMS320C6711 DSK. For processing of one speech sample with 8kHz sampling rate and 256 filter taps of the echo canceller, the implemented system used only 0.035ms and achieved the ERLE of 20.73dB.

  • 본 논문에서는 저전송율 음성부호화기인 2.4kbps MELP(Mixed Excitation Linear Prediction) 보코더를 TI(Texas Instruments) 사의 고정소수점 DSP인 TMS 320VC5510을 이용하여 실시간 구현한 결과를 제시한다. MELP 보코더는 전통적인 LPC 합성방식에 기반한 것으로, 2.4kbps LPC 보코더가 여기신호를 유성음 구간에 대해서는 펄스열로, 무성음 구간에 대해서는 백색잡음 신호로 단순화시켜 합성함으로써 음질이 저하되거나 buzz 현상이 나타나는 단점을 적절히 혼합된 형태의 여기신호를 사용함으로써 보완한 것이다. DDVPC(Defense Digital Voice Processing Consortium)에서 제공하는 ANSI C 소스 코드를 이용하여 TMS320VC5510 DSK에서 실시간 동작이 가능하도록 최적화 작업을 수행하였으며, 구현된 MELP 보코더는 프로그램 메모리 46.5 kbyte와 데이터 메모리 57.9 kbyte를 가지며, 22.5ms의 한 프레임을 처리하는데 1326531 클럭(6.6 ms)이 소요되었다.

  • This paper designs a drive for high efficiency of the 3-phase IM (induction motor) for FCU(Fan Coil Unit). The speed control system of 3-phase IM for FCU has been implemented by a TMS320LF2406 DSP chip. The DSP TMS320LF2406, which include the most peripheral circuit for control of the Industrial motor suitable for AC motor drive. This type of the controller can be obtained low cost and high reliance. The proposed drive system of the 3-phase IM for the FCU is verified by simulation. The results show the speed control characteristics of the control strategy Proposed for 3-Phase IM drive.

  • This paper represents the results of a complete train test of TMS(train control and management system) for korean tilting train express(TTX). This system, installed on TTX is responsible for monitors and controls of various local devices. This kind of test procedure is first time in Korea. So, we made of new standards related on a component test of the TMS and conducted to the complete Component Test and running test on conventional railway. We realized that this device is robust and good performance regarding as communication with other devices and reliability of TMS.

  • In order to operate trains both mainline railroad platform and metropolitan subway line platform, it is necessary to develop the door step equipment of the rolling stock regardless of low(500mm, mainline) and high level platforms(1,135mm, metropolitan subway line) because of the requisite door safety system. In this study, TMS-DCU interface is studied for low and high level railway platforms. As a result, Design circuit of TMS(Train Management System)-DCU(Door Control Unit) interface is suitable for telescopic sliding type doorstep unit to minimize damage to the carbody underframe of railway vehicles.

Combined BOLD fMRI and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Study: Evaluation of Ipsilateral Motor Pathway of Stroke Patients

  • Purpose: In this study, we investigated the possible motor pathways of hemiplegic stroke patients usin combined TMS and BOLD fMRI approach and evaluated the correlation between TMS a fMRI methods. Method: Four subjects, who demonstrated left hemiplegia after stroke, are included. TMS was performed using a Dantec Mag2 stimulator (Dantec Company, USA) in single puls mode with figure eight-shaped coil. Following TMS localization, The BOLD T2*-weight images were acquired with echo planar imaging sequence (TR = 1.2 sec, TE = 60 msec, and flip angle = 90). Motor activation was studied by means of a repetitive fing flexion-extension task. The stimulation protocol comprised 10 cycles of alternating activati and rest (10 images per cycle). Total 60 cycles were performed and each cycle take abou 1.5 sec. The resulting images were then analyzed with STIMULATE (CMRR, U, o Minnesota) to generate functional maps using a student t-test (p < 0.0005) and cluste analysis.

  • 본 연구에서는 Texas instruments 사의 저가형 부동소수점 디지털 신호 처리기인 TMS320C32를 이용하여 실시간 화자종속 음성인식 하드웨어 모듈을 개발하였다. 하드웨어 모듈의구성은 40MHz 의 TMS320C32, 14bit 코덱인 TLC32044, EPROM 과 SRAM 등의 메모리와 호스트 인터페이스를 위한 로직회로로 이루어져 있다. 뿐만 아니라 이 하드웨어 모듈을 PC 상에서 평가해보기 위한 PC 인터페이스용 보드 및 소프트웨어도 개발하였다. 음성인식 알고리즘은 C 및 어셈블리를 이용한 최적화를 통하여 계산속도를 대폭 개선하였다. 현재 인식률은 일반 사무실 환경에서 30단어에 대하여 95% 이상으로 매우 높은 편이며, 특히 배경음악이나 자동차 소음과 같은 잡음환경에서도 잘 동작한다.

  • To compare the quality of ultrastructural preservation of Scanning Electron Microscopic specimens dried with different methods; pure air-drying, air-drying with using Tetramethylsilane(TMS), four kind of air-drying using Hexamethyldisilazane(HMDS) and critical point drying(CPD), we conducted scanning electron microscopic observation on liver, skeletal muscle and intestinal tissues from laboratory rat treated with each method. In pure air drying group, severe distortion of tissue surface was observed, and in HMDS treated group, only liver tissue showed slight distortion. But in TMS treated group, each tissue showed a good presentation comparable to CPD group. The results suggest that the method of air-drying using TMS may be the former is less expensive and simple be and also time-saving.

  • 최근 수질환경보전법의 개정법률(안)에 의거하여 폐 · 하수종말처리장에 수온, pH, 생물학적산소요구량(BOD), 화학적산소요구량(COD), 총질소(TN), 총인(TP) 및 부유물질(SS)의 자동으로 측정할 수 있는 수질 자동측정기의 부착이 의무화될 예정에 있다. 그러나, 현재 전국적으로 화학적산소요구량 측정장비와 같이 일부 항목에 대한 자동측정장치는 설치 · 운영 중인 곳이 많이 있으나, 수질 TMS 설치 규정에 나와 있는 전 항목을 측정할 수 있는 장비가 설치되어 운영하는 곳은 극히 일부에 불과한 실정이다. 따라서, 수온, ph, 화학적 산소요구량(COD), 총질소(TN), 총인(TP), 부유물질(SS) 자동측정 장치를 설치하고, 무선통신(CDMA)방식을 이용하여 ‘방류수 수질 원격감시체계(TMS) 시범 운영'을 통하여, 측정 장비들에 대한 자료의 정확성, 신뢰성을 파악하여 설치된 장비들에 대한 성능을 사전에 평가하고, 수질 TMS 시스템에 대한 현장 적응 능력 및 안정성을 파악하여 실질적으로 운영되는 시점에 좀 더 정확하고 실용적인 시스템의 적용하고자 한다.

  • The thrust measurement systems(TMS) with high accuracy are required in rockery, according to develop the high precise guided space vehicle. For obtaining high accuracy, the basic concepts and the necessary technology which have been acquired through many experiences of TMS are summarized, and the design methodology for practical use in ADD is presented. In this paper, the parameters against accuracy of TMS are discussed, and the improving methods are suggested. Through this application example, the design methodology of ADD is shown its superiority in TMS.
