The triboelectric property of a material is important to improve an efficiency of triboelectric generator (TEG) in energy harvesting from an ambient energy. In this study, we have studied the TEG property of a semiconducting $SnO_2$ which has yet to be explored so far. As a counter triboelectric material, PET and glass are used. Vertical contact mode is utilized to evaluate the TEG efficiency. $SnO_2$ thin film is deposited by atomic layer deposition on bare Si wafer for various thicknesses from 5.2 nm to 34.6 nm, where the TEG output is increased from 13.9V to 73.5V. Triboelectric series are determined by comparing the polarity of output voltage of 2 samples among $SnO_2$, PET, and glass. In conclusion, $SnO_2$, as an intrinsic n-type material, has the most strong tendency to be positive side to lose the electron and PET has the most strong tendency to be negative side to get the electron, and glass to be between them. Therefore, the $SnO_2$-PET combination shows the highest TEG efficiency.
Background: The present study was undertaken to evaluate the incidence of chronic persistent post-surgical pain (CPPP) and the role of signal transduction genes in patients undergoing staging laparotomy for carcinoma ovary. Methods: The present observational study was undertaken following institutional ethical committee approval and informed consent from all the participants. A total 21 patients of ASA grade I to III with age 20-70 years, scheduled for elective staging laparotomy for carcinoma ovary were included. Patients were excluded if had other causes of pain, cognitive dysfunction or chronic neurological disorders. Statistical analysis of pool data was done using SPSS version-17. For various scales like GPE, PDQ, NPSI, the visual analogue scale (VAS), global perceived effect (GPE), the pain DETECT questionnaire (PDQ), and neuropathic pain symptoms inventory (NPSI), one factor repaeted measure ANOVA applied with simple contrast with baseline as on post-operative day 1 (considered as reference and compared with subsequent time-interval), and the P values were adjusted according to "Bonferroni adjustments". In patients with CPPP, the ${\Delta}ct$ values of mRNA expressions of genes at the end of postoperative day 90 were compared with the baseline control values by one factor repeated ANOVA. P value < 0.005 significant. Results: The present study demonstrates 38.1% (8 out of 21 patients) incidence of CPPP. The functional status and quality of life as were observed to be significantly diminished in all patients with chronic pain. An up-regulation in the mRNA expression of signal transduction and a positive correlation was noted between the mRNA expression of signal transduction genes and VAS score in all patients with CPPP at the end of postoperative day 90. Conclusions: The reported incidence of CPPP in patients with carcinoma ovary was 38.1%. An up-regulation and positive correlation between mRNA expression of signal transduction genes and VAS score depicts its potential role in the pathogenesis of CPPP.
Background: This study assessed anticipatory dental anxiety levels among 8- to 12-year-old children based on subjective and physiological measures and their correlation. The variations in anxiety based on sex, age, temperament, and academic performance were evaluated. Methods: An observational study was conducted in 60 children recruited from the waiting room over a 6-month period. The operator recorded subjective anxiety in the children using a novel visual facial anxiety scale. The operator also noted the demographic details and child's temperament using the nine dimensions of the Thomas and Chess criteria, and graded children as "easy," "slow to warm-up," and "difficult." The academic performance of the children was graded (parental ratings) on a five-point Likert scale. Physiological variables (heartrate [HR], oxygen saturation[SpO2], and blood pressure [BP]) were recorded by another evaluator. The correlation between anxiety levels and physiological variables was also assessed. The effects of age, sex, temperament, and academic performance on anxiety were evaluated. Results: The study included 60 children aged 8-12 years, including 36 boys and 24 girls. Seventy percent of children had mild to moderate levels of pre-extraction anxiety, while 30% of children demonstrated high anxiety. A significant positive correlation was noted between anxiety levels and HR (rs = 0.477, P < 0.001⁎) and systolic BP (rs = 0.294, P < 0.05), while a significant but inverse correlation was observed with SpO2 (rs = -0.40, P < 0.05). Anxiety did not influence diastolic BP. Children with difficult temperament and poor academic performance had significantly higher anxiety. Conclusion: A high percentage (70%) of children aged 8-12 years had mild to moderate anxiety prior to the extraction procedure. Increased HR, systolic BP, and reduced SpO2 were significantly associated with high levels of anticipatory dental anxiety. Pre-extraction anxiety was significantly related to the temperament and scholastic performance.
In order to know the change of weight loss, crystallinity, crystallite size(010) plane, and thermal properties of PET films which had before drawn and annealed at various temperature. It were treated in sodium triethylene glycolate-triethylene glycol(STEG-TEG) were prepared. The following results were abtain. The weight loss of PET films were increasing with increaing treated time in STEG-TEG solution and It showed a linear rlationship to the treated time. The crystallinity and crystallite size(010) plane of PET films decreased with increasing decomposition ratio when PET films were treated with before annealed under 16$0^{\circ}C$. The crystalline region on the surface of samples were decompose to thermal unstable crystalline structure
We prove the non-existence of warped product GCR-lightlike submanifolds of the type K⊥ × λ KT such that KT is a holomorphic submanifold and K⊥ is a totally real submanifold in an indefinite Kaehler manifold $\tilde{K}$. Further, the existence of GCR-lightlike warped product submanifolds of the type KT × λ K⊥ is obtained by establishing a characterization theorem in terms of the shape operator and the warping function in an indefinite Kaehler manifold. Consequently, we find some necessary and sufficient conditions for an isometrically immersed GCR-lightlike submanifold in an indefinite Kaehler manifold to be a GCR-lightlike warped product, in terms of the canonical structures f and ω. Moreover, we also derive a geometric estimate for the second fundamental form of GCR-lightlike warped product submanifolds, in terms of the Hessian of the warping function λ.
In this paper, we establish several geometric characterizations focusing on the relationship between the squared norm of the second fundamental form and the warping function of SCR-lightlike warped product submanifolds in an indefinite Kaehler manifold. In particular, we find an estimate for the squared norm of the second fundamental form h in terms of the Hessian of the warping function λ for SCR-lightlike warped product submanifolds of an indefinite complex space form. Consequently, we derive an optimal inequality, namely $${\parallel}h{\parallel}^2{\geq}2q\{{\Delta}(ln{\lambda})+{\parallel}{\nabla}(ln{\lambda}){\parallel}^2+\frac{c}{2}p\}$$, for SCR-lightlike warped product submanifolds in an indefinite complex space form. We also provide one non-trivial example for this class of warped products in an indefinite Kaehler manifold.
In the present study, we investigate generic lightlike submanifolds of indefinite nearly Kaehler manifolds. After proving the existence of generic lightlike submanifolds in an indefinite generalized complex space form, a non-trivial example of this class of submanifolds is discussed. Then, we find a characterization theorem enabling the induced connection on a generic lightlike submanifold to be a metric connection. We also derive some conditions for the integrability of distributions defined on generic lightlike submanifolds. Further, we discuss the non-existence of mixed geodesic generic lightlike submanifolds in a generalized complex space form. Finally, we investigate totally umbilical generic lightlike submanifolds and minimal generic lightlike submanifolds of an indefinite nearly Kaehler manifold.
We introduce the study of generic lightlike submanifolds of a semi-Riemannian product manifold. We establish a characterization theorem for the induced connection on a generic lightlike submanifold to be a metric connection. We also find some conditions for the integrability of the distributions associated with generic lightlike submanifolds and discuss the geometry of foliations. Then we search for some results enabling a generic lightlike submanifold of a semi-Riemannian product manifold to be a generic lightlike product manifold. Finally, we examine minimal generic lightlike submanifolds of a semi-Riemannian product manifold.
In this study, we separated the lignin from the wood by using the high boiling point solvent for developing more environmental friendly pulping method. High boiling point solvents as Ethers, glycols and ketones were used to remove the lignin in the pine wood meals. The Yield and lignin content of residual wood meals was reduced according to the input of the catalyst. Me-C, E-Ca, TEG and MIBK had the best delignification rate of 9 kinds of high-boiling point solvents. At the hydrolysis ratio of the selected solvents, The TEG was highest remain ratio of carbohydrates and the E-Ca was lowest remain ratio of lignin. And the Me-C was most excellent lignin hydrolysis ratio at the low catalyst. The selectivity of delignification of Me-C, E-Ca, TEG and MIBK solvents were 49.6, 49.9, 53.8 and 53.1%, respectively, and its values were similar to those of the commercial Kraft Pulp.
Five bacterial species, capable of degrading the recalcitrant organic compounds (ROCs) diethyleneglycol monomethylether (DGMME), 1-amino-2-propanol (APOL), 1-methyl-2-pyrrolidinone (NMP), diethyleneglycol monoethylether (DGMEE), tetraethyleneglycol (TEG), and tetrahydrothiophene 1,1-dioxide (sulfolane), were isolated from an enrichment culture. Cupriavidus sp. catabolized $93.5{\pm}1.7$ mg/l of TEG, $99.3{\pm}1.2$ mg/l of DGMME, $96.1{\pm}1.6$ mg/l of APOL, and $99.5{\pm}0.5$ mg/l of NMP in 3 days. Acineobacter sp. catabolized 100 mg/l of DGMME, $99.9{\pm}0.1$ mg/l of NMP, and 100 mg/l of DGMEE in 3 days. Pseudomonas sp.3 catabolized $95.7{\pm}1.2$ mg/l of APOL and $99.8{\pm}0.3$ mg/l of NMP. Paracoccus sp. catabolized $98.3{\pm}0.6$ mg/l of DGMME and $98.3{\pm}1.0$ mg/l of DGMEE in 3 days. A maximum $43{\pm}2.0$ mg/l of sulfolane was catabolized by Paracoccus sp. in 3 days. When a mixed culture composed of the five bacterial species was applied to real wastewater containing DGMME, APOL, NMP, DGMEE, or TEG, 92~99% of each individual ROC was catabolized within 3 days. However, at least 9 days were required for the complete mineralization of sulfolane. Bacterial community diversity, analyzed on the basis of the TGGE pattern of 16S rDNA extracted from viable cells, was found to be significantly reduced in a conventional bioreactor after 6 days of incubation. However, biodiversity was maintained after 12 days of incubation in an electrochemical bioreactor. In conclusion, the electrochemical reduction reaction enhanced the diversity of the bacterial community and actively catabolized sulfolane.
