  • Traffic Accident Merging Index(TAMI) is developed for TMACS(Traffic Safety Information Management Complex System). TAMI is calculated by combining 'Severity Index' and 'Frequency'. This paper suggest the accurate TAMI prediction model by time series forecasting. Preventing the traffic accident by accurately predicting it in advance can greatly improve road traffic safety. Searches the model which minimizes the error of 230 local self-governing groups. TAMI of 2007~2009 years data predicts TAMI of 2010. And TAMI of 2010 compares an actual index and a prediction index. And the error is minimized the constant where selects. Exponential Smoothing model was selected. And smoothing constant was decided with 0.59. TAMI Forecasting model provides traffic next year safety information of the local government.

  • Traffic Accident Merging Index (TAMI) is developed for TMACS (Traffic Safety Information Management Complex System). TAMI is calculated by combining 'Severity Index' and 'Frequency'. The existing indexes are Traffic deaths per 100,000 population, Traffic deaths per 100,000 inhabitants/per billion veh-km, etc. However, there is no consistency in using them among local governments, so it can create confusion. Moreover, the index level is too complicated to understand. Therefore, this study suggests new traffic safety index, TAMI. It will work to improve the weaknesses and present accurate status of traffic safety in local governments.

  • The primary goals of this paper are to design an interactive education platform conveying a variety of haptic sensations to developmental disorder children when they touch the education platform. The proposed interactive education platform is composed of a kinesthetic module, a vibrotactile module, a thermal module. and a controller. The design focuses of the proposed education platform were to create sufficiently large kinesthetic forces, vibrations, and temperatures and to convey them to users. We have conducted experiments for evaluating the proposed system and found out three modules function safely and effectively as an educational platform.

  • In India, Gymnema sylvestre due to the unique property of the plant to antagonize the sweet taste is known as 'Gur-mar'. It has several ethnomedicinal values as various tribals/traditional communities and rural peoples of India find diverse medicinal uses viz. antidiabetic, stomachic, diuretic, and is useful in cough and throat troubles. Besides, it has strong effect on reducing blood sugar. The present communication deals with the detailed pharmacognostical evaluation of the aerial parts of G. sylvestre collected from three places of the country-Varanasi (U.P), Panchmarhi (M.P), Salem (Tami Nadu) and commercial sample procured from local market. The botanical and physico-chemical parameters of all the samples were quite similar though little variations were observed in foaming index, alcohol and water soluble extractives of local sample. The microscopic characteristics of the drug are horse shoe shaped petiole with 3 amphicribal vascular bundles, sieve tubes well developed; anomocytic stomata only on the abaxial surface of the leaf, the fan shaped amphicribal vascular bundle, presence of intraxylary phloem. The TLC fingerprint profile of all the samples was more or less similar only the quantity of some of the compounds varied.

  • Development and implementation of virtual training contents has been increasing along with the emphasis on the experience and practice in engineering education. Virtual training makes repeatable sessions possible within safe learning environment which is very similar with real work place. This feature is very helpful to learners when they manipulate real machines back at work after studying with the virtual training content. The purpose of this study is to develop "Total Station and GPSS surveying" virtual training content focusing on both theory and surveying practice within various circumstances and to explore learners experience. Results show high interest, immersion, perceived learning effectiveness, and satisfaction to the content.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the actual preparation process and outcomes of applying RPL in University Dual System based on KOREATECH's case. A comprehensive literature review on prior research and cases was described in this study to assist Korean educational institutions who might be interested in adopting RPL into their organizations. Furthermore, three different levels of support were suggested based on the results of this study for successful adoption of RPL in Korea. Support from national system level, sociocultural level, and university level should be considered carefully for the success of RPL.

  • The purpose of this paper is to compare SWECOM and Information & Communication Engineering NCS to explore how to improve current NCS. First, it would be helpful to use NCS competency unit and competency unit element as categorization criteria and then to provide levels and roles into performance criteria and KSA. Second, developing common lower level competency unit would decrease the redundancy of KSA and make it clear for users. Third, providing other kinds of skills along with technical skills such as management skill would be useful for users.
