  • This paper proposes design of LFT-based fuzzy controllers for model-following, which are better than the previous input-output linearization controllers, which are not able to follow the model system states and which do not guarantee the stability of all states. The method proposed in this paper provides a LFT-based Takagi-Sugeno(T-S) fuzzy controller with guaranteed stability and model-following via the following steps: First, using LFT(Linear Fractional Transformation) and T-S fuzzy model, controllers, are obtained. Next, error dynamics are obtained for model-following, and errors go to 0(zero). Finally, a T-s fuzzy controller that can stabilizxe the system with the requirement on the control input satisfied is obtained by solving the LMIs with the MATLAB LMI Control Toolbox and a model-following controller is obtained. Simulations are performed for the LFT-based T-S fuzzy controller designed by the proposed method, which show better performance than the results of input-out ut linearization controller.

  • A systematic design method for PDC(Parallel Distributed Compensation)-type continuous time Takagi-Sugeno(T-S in short) fuzzy control systems which have inaccessible states is developed in this paper. Reduced-dimensional fuzzy state estimator is introduced from existing T-S fuzzy model using the PDC structure of Wang et al. [1] LMI(Linear Matrix Inequalities) problems which represent the stabililty of the reduced-dimensional fuzzy state estimator are derived. Pole placement constraints idea for each rules is adopted to determine the estimator gains and they are also revealed as LMI problems. these LMI problems are combined with Joh et al's [7][8] LMI problems for PDC -type continuous time T-S fuzzy controller design to yield a systematic design method for PDC -type continuous time T-S fuzzy control systems which have inaccessible states.

  • This paper proposes a new $H_{\infty}$ T-S fuzzy controller with a novel integral control for induction motors which have nonlinear dynamics. The $H_{\infty}$ T-S fuzzy controller is used for the nonlinearity and robustness and weighted integral is used for tracking problem and control performance. A T-S Fuzzy controller is the fuzzy combination of local linear controllers considering the overall stability, and LMI(Linear Matrix Inequlity) is used for determining the gains of linear controllers. The tracking problem of an induction motor is changed into regulator problem by introducing the integral control technique with weighting factor, diminishing the conservatism of $H_{\infty}$ T-S fuzzy controller.

  • In this paper, in order to control uncertain missile autopilot, an adaptive fuzzy control(AFC) scheme via parallel distributed compensation(PDC) is developed for the multi-input/multi -output plants represented by the Takagi-Sugeno(T-S) fuzzy model. Moreover adaptive law is designed so that the plant output tracks the stable reference model(SRM). From the simulations results, we can conclude that the suggested scheme can effectively solve the control problems of uncertain missile systems based on T-S fuzzy model.

  • In this paper, the fuzzy $T_2$-axioms due to Hutton and Reilly, Ganguly and Saha and Sinha are characterized by using the notion of fuzzy closure. As consequences, we study the relation between the fuzzy $T_2$-axioms and give some examples which show that the axiom of fuzzy compactness, due to Ganguly and Saha, is not compatible with the fuzzy $T_2$-axioms.

  • This paper proposes a stability condition in affine Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy systems with parametric uncertainties and then, introduces the design method of a fuzzy-model-based controller which guarantees the stability. The analysis is based on Lyapunov functions that are continuous and piecewise quadratic. The search for a piecewise quadratic Lyapunov function can be represented in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs).

  • This paper deals with the observer-based decentralized fuzzy controller design for nonlinear interconnected system for PEMFC. The nonlinear interconnected system is represented by a Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model. Based on T-S fuzzy interconnected system, the fuzzy observer and the decentralized fuzzy controller are designed. The stability condition of the closed-loop system with the proposed controller is represented to the linear matrix inequality (LMI) form, and the observer and control gain s are obtained by LMI. An example is given to show the verification discussed throughout the paper.

  • This paper proposes a novel $H{\infty}$ T-S Fuzzy controller with a weighted integral action for Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(IPMSM) which have nonlinear dynamics. The $H{\infty}$ T-S Fuzzy controller is used for the robustness of nonlinear systems and the weighted integral action is used for the tracking problem and the improvement of control performance. A T-S Fuzzy controller is designed by combining the local controllers with the overall stability, and LMI(Linear Matrix Inequality)is used to determine the gains of linear controllers. The tracking problem of IPMSM is changed into regulator problem by introducing the integral action and the weighting factor gives flexibility to a $H{\infty}$ fuzzy controller.

  • To improve the control performance of the IPMSM, a novel nonlinear disturbance observer is proposed by using the T-S fuzzy model. A T-S fuzzy model is the combination of local linear models considered at each operating point. Usually the inverse model is easy to obtain in linear systems but not in nonlinear systems. To design a nonlinear disturbance observer, a nonlinear inverse model is obtained based on nonlinear inverse model which is the fuzzy combination of the local linear inverse models. The proposed DOB is used with a PDC controller which is one of the T-S fuzzy controller, and its performance improvement is shown from the simulation results.
