  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to develop IoT multi-fire detectors combined smoke/carbon monoxide/heat and wireless IoT communication and to confirm the detect performance by smoke generator fire test and cotton wicks fire test. Method: The IoT multi-fire detector combined smoke and CO and combined smoke and heat were experimented the detect performance by smoke generator test and fire test of cotton wicks. And the case of fire alarm was checked. Result: The IoT multi-fire detector combined smoke and CO rung the alarm at the fire test of cotton wicks, did not ring the alarm at the smoke generator test. In comparison, the IoT multi-fire detector combined smoke and heat did not ring the alarm both at the smoke generator test and the fire test of cotton wicks. Conclusion: The IoT multi-fire detector combined smoke and CO detected the only smoke including the carbon monoxide and the IoT multi-fire detector combined smoke and heat did not ring the alarm for lack of heat. As a result, when the developed IoT multi-fire detector was detected the signal more than the set point, the fire alarm was sounded through cotton wicks fire test and smoke generator.

  • We create a malware detector classification method with using the Sequential Probability Ratio Test (SPRT) in IoT. More specifically, we adapt the SPRT to classify malware detectors into two categories of basic and advanced in line with malware detection capability. We perform evaluation of our scheme through simulation. Our simulation results show that the number of advanced detectors is changed in line with threshold for fraction of advanced malware information, which is used to judge advanced detectors in the SPRT.

  • Fire-alarm systems are safety equipment that facilitate rapid evacuation and early suppression in case of fire. It is highly desirable that fire-alarm systems have low false-alarm rates and are thus reliable. Until now, researchers have attempted to improve detector performance by applying new technologies such as IoT. To this end, IoT-based fire-detection systems have been developed. However, due to scarcity of large-scale operational data, researchers have barely studied malfunctioning in fire-alarm systems or attempted to reduce false-alarm rates in these systems. In this study, we analyzed false-alarm rates of smoke/temperature detectors and unwanted fire-alarm signal patterns at K institution, where Korea's largest IoT-based fire-detection system operates. After analyzing the fire alarm occurrences at the institution for five years, we inferred that the IoT-based fire-detection system showed lower false-alarm rates compared to the automatic fire-detection equipment. We analyzed the detection pattern by dividing it into two parts: normal operation and unwanted fire alarms. When a specific signal pattern was filtered out, the false-alarm rate was reduced to 66.9% in the smoke detector and to 46.9% in the temperature detector.

  • In this paper, a compact L-shaped shorted pin patch to be used at local oscillator port in radar detector is proposed. Shorted pin patch operates as short-open cavity while conventional patch operates as open-open cavity. Shorted pins are L-shaped to obtain quarter wave length and three-quarter wave length resonance for the fundamental(X-band) and $2^{nd}(3^{rd})$(K- and Ka-band) mode resonance frequency, respectively. Thus, the proposed patch can be compact. It is also possible to operate at triple band(X-, K-, Ka-band) with small return loss in radar detector, It is expected that shorted pin patch could improve radar detector sensitivity.

  • An edge is where the intensity of an image moves from a low value to high value or vice versa. The edges tell where objects are. their shape and size. and something about their texture. Many traditional edge operators are derivative based and perform reasonably well for simple noise-free images. In recent, statistical edge detectors for complex images with noises have been described. This paper compares and analysis the performance of statistical edge detectors based on the T test and Wilcoxon test, and mathematical edge detectors based on Sobel operator, and the well-known Canny detector and Wavelet transformation detector, and provides the implementation of these edge detectors using Java on the web.

  • NMR measurement has been studied for protons in pre-polarized flowing water by a separated detector working at high field far away from the measured field region where the transition of protons is occurred by the pertur-bation of RF energy. The conditions for NMR signal were optimized on the amplitude and frequency of modulation field, the RF field of detector, water speed, and RF field at the measured field region. The NMR signal with the full width of 320 nT at the half maximum in Lorentzian curve and with signal to noise ratio of 10.5 was measured in the range from a few ${\mu}T$ to mT, and its shape and amplitude were independent of the measured field intensity and its uniformity.

  • A major issue in the use of immune checkpoint inhibitors is their lack of efficacy in many patients. Previous studies have reported that the T cell inflamed signature can help predict the response to immunotherapy. Thus, many studies have investigated mechanisms of immunotherapy resistance by defining the tumor microenvironment based on T cell inflamed and non-T cell inflamed subsets. Although methods of calculating T cell inflamed subsets have been developed, valid screening tools for distinguishing T cell inflamed from non-T cell inflamed subsets using gene expression data are still needed, since general researchers who are unfamiliar with the details of the equations can experience difficulties using extant scoring formulas to conduct analyses. Thus, we introduce TcellInflamedDetector, an R package for distinguishing T cell inflamed from non-T cell inflamed samples using cancer gene expression data via bulk RNA sequencing.

  • Zero-Cross Detector makes pilot signal to control the power to CEDM(Control Element Drive Mechanism). Existing Zero-Cross Detectors has had a problem which can cause unexpected reactor trip resulted from fluctuating frequency of input signal coming from M/G Set. The existing Zero-Cross Detector can't work properly when power frequency is varying because it was designed to work under stable M/G Set operation, and produces wrong pilot signal and output voltage. In this report the Zero-Cross Detector is improved to resolve voltage fluctuating problem by using new devices such as digital noise filtering circuit, variable cycle compensator and alarm circuit. And through the performance verification it shows that new circuit is better than old one. If suggested detector is applied to plant, it is possible to use it under House Load Operation because stable voltage can be generated by new Zero-Cross Detector.

  • When a fire is detected by a sensor of a fire detector, the fire is notified to the manager through the siren. However, if the manager is not indoors, prompt action may not be taken in the event of a fire. In this study, we would like to propose a platform system for fire prevention applying IoT to prevent problems that arise when building manager is absent. This paper presents the structure and operation principle of fire prevention platform system design using IoT, describes the overall system design through fire detector H/W design, micom S/W design and Android application development, and is expected to develop a system that can respond a little faster in case of fire.
