Single nucleotide polymorph isms (SNPs) in the MDR1 gene that are responsible for drug efflux can cause toxicity. Therefore, this study determined the SNPs of the Korean MDR1 gene, and analyzed the haplotypes and a linkage disequilibrium (LD) of the SNPs determined. The frequency of 9 SNPs from the MDR1 gene was determined by PCR-RFLP analyses of 100 to 500 healthy individuals. The frequcies of the SNPs were C3435T (47.7%), G2677T (37.6%), G2677A (4.4%), T1236C (21.7%), T129C (8%), A2956G (2.5%), T307C (1.5%), A41aG (9.2%), C145G (0%), and G4030C (0%). Analyses of the haplotype structure and an estimation of the LD of the combined polymorph isms demonstrated that the frequency of the 1236T-2677G-3435T haplotype is much higher in Koreans (14.1%) than in Chinese and western black Africans and the C3435T SNP in Koreans appears to have LD with T129C in Koreans for the first time. These results provide insight into the genetic variation of MDR1 in Koreans, and demonstrated the possibility of a new LD in this gene.
The mitotic cycle duration and component plase periods of rice (Oryza sativa L. 'Sumjinbyeo and Seokwangbyeo') root merisem cells at 15, 20, and 30$^{\circ}C$ were determined the use of tritiated thymidine, In this work, the time interval between the maxima of sequential mitotic appearances of marked cells was used to estimate the mitotic cycle duration (MCD) of rice, The MCD of rice of the cultivar 'Sumjinbyeo' and 'Seokwangbyeo' at 20. and 30$^{\circ}C$ was 12. and 20hr, respectively. But the MCD of 'Sumjinbyeo' and 'Seokwangbyeo' was 18 and 20hr, at 15$^{\circ}C$. respectively. The MCD decreased with increasing temperature, The duration of component phase of rice cultivar 'Seokwangbyeo' were essentially the same ratio at 20$^{\circ}C$ and 30$^{\circ}C$. but in 'Sumjinbyeo' cultivar the ratio of $G_1$ period was almost doubled while those of $G_2$ and M were decreased by almost two times at 20$^{\circ}C$ and 30$^{\circ}C$. Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). Ribonucleic acid (RNA), and protein synthesis were reduced with increasing temperature from 15$^{\circ}C$ to 30$^{\circ}C$ while the MCD was decreased, This result suggest that DNA, RNA and protein synthesis may not affect the MCD from 15$^{\circ}C$ to 30$^{\circ}C$ in rice.

Given a distribution of pebbles on the vertices of a connected graph G, a pebbling move is defined as the removal of two pebbles from some vertex and the placement of one of those pebbles at an adjacent vertex. The t-pebbling number, $f_t(G)$, of a connected graph G, is the smallest positive integer such that from every placement of $f_t(G)$ pebbles, t pebbles can be moved to any specified vertex by a sequence of pebbling moves. A graph G has the 2t-pebbling property if for any distribution with more than $2f_t(G)$ - q pebbles, where q is the number of vertices with at least one pebble, it is possible, using the sequence of pebbling moves, to put 2t pebbles on any vertex. In this paper, we determine the t-pebbling number for the middle graph of a complete binary tree $M(B_h)$ and we show that the middle graph of a complete binary tree $M(B_h)$ satisfies the 2t-pebbling property.
Purpose: There is a the great diagnostic challenge in pediatric tuberculosis especially in high burden setting. The purpose of this preliminary study is to evaluate the agreement between tuberculin skin test (TST) and interferon-gamma release assay (IGRA) including T-SPOT$^{(R)}$.TB and QuantiFERON$^{(R)}$-TB Gold (QFT-G) in Korean children. Method: This retrospective study included children and adolescents who visited to Asan Medical Center to evaluate tuberculosis infection using at least two assays of TST, T-SPOT.TB and QFT-G, from January 2014 to April 2015. Results: A total of 20 patients were included, whose median age was 13.3 years (range, 3.8-18.1 years), and all of them had history of BCG vaccination. Eleven patients had underlying diseases including 7 patients with immunosuppressant medication. The concordance rate between T-SPOT.TB and QFT-G was 90%. However, the concordance rate between TST and T-SPOT.TB was 50%, and between TST and QFT-G was 42.9%. Specificity for the diagnosis of tuberculosis infection of T-SPOT.TB, QFT-G, and TST was 93.3%, 86.7%, and 58.3%, respectively. Conclusions: Although there was a discrepancy between TST and IGRA to diagnose tuberculosis, agreement between T-SPOT.TB and QFT-G was relatively high. Further prospective study to validate the clinical usefulness of each assay for immunologic evidence of tuberculosis infection in Korean children will be mandatory.
The productions of beta-exotoxin from sixteen Bacillus thuringiensis strains were examined by Micrococus flava primarily, and then measured by spectrophotometer during culturing in Conner and Hansen mineral salts medium at 28$^{\circ}C$. Also the toxic effects of the toxin to mice were checked. The growth of Bacillus thuringiensis K2 and BTK2-T1, -T13, -T33 and -T40 got into stationary phase at 6 hour culture and then maintained it up to 48 hours without severe fluctuation. The production of beta-exotoxin from the strains, BTK2, BTK2-T1, -T13, -T17 and -T33 appeared at 6 hour culture and the amounts of the toxin were about 40 $\mu\textrm{g}$/$m\ell$ at 6 hour culture, approximately 70 $\mu\textrm{g}$/$m\ell$ at 12 hours, approximately 85$\mu\textrm{g}$/$m\ell$ from 24 hours to 48 hours. At 48 hour-culture, BTK2 produced 80 $\mu\textrm{g}$/$m\ell$ of beta-exotoxin (5.5$\times$10$^{8}$ cells/$m\ell$, BTK2-T13 produced 84 $\mu\textrm{g}$/$m\ell$ (4.3$\times$10$^{8}$ cells/$m\ell$), BTK2-T17 produced 87$\mu\textrm{g}$/$m\ell$ (1.4$\times$10$^{8}$ cells/$m\ell$), and BTK2-T33 produced 84 $\mu\textrm{g}$/$m\ell$ (4.9$\times$10$^{8}$ cells/$m\ell$). All other serotypes also produced beta-exotoxin. At 48 hour culture, BTK-37 produced 88$\mu\textrm{g}$/$m\ell$ (6.1$\times$10$^{8}$ cells/$m\ell$), BTK-35 produced 81 $\mu\textrm{g}$/$m\ell$), and the rest of them produced less than 70 $\mu\textrm{g}$/$m\ell$. To check the toxicity of beta-exotoxin and B. thuringiensis, the cultured media with microorganisms were inoculated to mice by per os, intraperiloneal, subcutaneous and intracerebral injection, and nasal cavity inoculation for 30 days. However, the toxin did not kill all of the treated mice.
This study was carried out to evaluate the antiobesity effects of Crataegus fructus in 3T3-L1 adipocytes and mice fed a high fat diet (high fat 45% cal). The inhibitory effect of methanol extract from Crataegus fructus on lipid accumulation in 3T3-L1 adipocytes was quantified using Oil red O staining. Compared with the control, lipid accumulation was significantly decreased by 10-25% with treatment with Crataegus fructus extract at a concentration of 600-2,000 ug/ml. Three-week old ICR mice (n=24) were randomly divided into four groups (T0: normal diet, T1: high fat diet, T2: high fat diet and 50 ug of Crataegus fructus extract, T3: high fat diet and 100 ug of Crataegus fructus extract) and were fed an experimental diet for 5 weeks. At the end of the experiment, body weight gain in the T1 group (3.9${\pm}$0.24 g) was higher than that in the T0 group (2.56${\pm}$0.14 g), while body weight gain in the T2 (3.02${\pm}$0.25 g) and T3 (2.58${\pm}$0.16 g) groups was significantly reduced as compared with that of the T1 group. Moreover, liver weight in the T1 (4.8${\pm}$0.17 g) and T2 (4.8${\pm}$0.16 g) groups was significantly higher than that of the T0 (4.05${\pm}$0.16 g) and T3 (4.57${\pm}$0.10 g) groups, while kidney weight was significantly lower than that of the T0 and T3 groups (p<0.05). The levels of total cholesterol and triglyceride in serum in the T2 and T3 groups were significantly decreased compared to the T1 group. These results suggest that Crataegus fructus can be used as functional materials in food and medicine.
This study was performed to determine the possibility of sludge treatment by ozone for reducing the sludge production in sewage treatment. To evaluate the characteristics of the release of organic matters and nutrient from sludge degradation by ozone, SCOD, SBOD/TCOD, T-N and T-P were analyzed. From the results, we concluded that the concentration of soluble organic matters(SCOD) was increased with reaction time. Also, The concentration of T-N and T-P were increased with time like as organic matters. Quantities of released SCOD, SBOD, T-N and T-P by ozonization were 0.038g, 0.058 g, 0.011 g, 0.012 g per g MLSS, respectively.
Here we have studied the ideas of $g^*$-closed sets, $g{\bigwedge}_{{\tau}^-}$ sets and ${\lambda}^*$-closed sets and investigate some of their properties in the spaces of A. D. Alexandroff [1]. We have also studied some separation axioms like $T_{\frac{\omega}{4}}$, $T_{\frac{3\omega}{8}}$, $T_{\omega}$ in Alexandroff spaces and also have introduced a new separation axiom namely $T_{\frac{5\omega}{8}}$ axiom in this space.
The impact of output conductance (go) on the short-circuit current-gain cut-off frequency (fT) in In0.8Ga0.2As high-electron-mobility transistors (HEMTs) on an InP substrate was investigated. An attempted was made to extract the values of fT in a simplified small-signal model (SSM) of the HEMTs, derive an analytical formula for fT in terms of the extrinsic model parameters of the simplified SSM, which are related to the intrinsic model parameters of a general SSM, and verify its validity for devices with Lg from 260 to 25 nm. In long-channel devices, the effect of the intrinsic output conductance (goi) on fT was negligible. This was because, from the simplified SSM perspective, three model parameters, such as gm_ext, Cgs_ext and Cgd_ext, were weakly dependent on goi. However, in short-channel devices, goi was found to play a significant role in degrading fT as Lg was scaled down. The increase in goi in short-channel devices caused a considerable reduction in gm_ext and an overall increase in the total extrinsic gate capacitance, yielding a decrease in fT with goi. Finally, the results were used to infer how fT is influenced by goi in HEMTs, emphasizing that improving electrostatic integrity is also critical importance to benefit fully from scaling down Lg.
