자동차 안전성 설계에서 설계 추적성을 활용한 고장형태 영향분석에 관한 연구 (On the Development of an FMEA Method for Automotive Safety Utilizing Design Traceability)

  • In modern systems design and development, one of the key issues is considered to be related with how to reflect faithfully the stakeholder requirements including customer requirements therein, thereby successfully implementing the system functions derived from the requirements. On the other hand, the issue of safety management is also becoming greatly important these days, particularly in the operational phase of the systems under development. An approach to safety management can be based on the use of the failure mode effect and analysis (FMEA), which has been a core method adopted in automotive industry to reduce the potential failure. The fact that a successful development of cars needs to consider both the complexity and failure throughout the whole life cycle calls for the necessity of applying the systems engineering (SE) process. To meet such a need, in this paper a method of FMEA is developed based on the SE concept. To do so, a process model is derived first in order to identify the required activities that must be satisfied in automotive design while reducing the possibility of failure. Specifically, the stakeholder requirements were analyzed first to derive a set of functions, which subsequentially leads to the task of identifying necessary HW/SW components. Then the derived functions were allocated to appropriate HW/SW components. During this design process, the traceability between the functions and HW/SW components were generated. The traceability can play a key role when FMEA is performed to predict the potential failure that can be described with the routes from the components through the linked functions. As a case study, the developed process model has been applied in a project carried out in practice. The results turned out to demonstrate the usefulness of the approach.

  • Today, as the number of vehicles equipped with autonomous driving functions increases, the use of various sensors increases, and the complexity of system configuration increases. The ISO 26262 standard was published to prevent caused by systematic errors. Recently, the issue of external environmental factors rather than mechanical failure has increased. This issue is a problem outside of the scope of ISO 26262, and the ISO/DIS 21448 standard was published to solve this problem. Also, Mobileye proposed the RSS model that defined safe distance for dangerous situations in order to secure the safety of autonomous vehicles and who is responsible in case of an accident. In this paper, integrated process of ISO 21448 and RSS model, and through these results, we expect that possible to contribute to securing the safety and reliability of autonomous vehicles in the future.

  • The environment and requirements of modern war fields have been affected and thus changed by a variety of issues. To this end, the development of safety-critical weapon systems frequently need to meet those changes even in the operational phase. The necessity of the changes may be due to the preparation for mass-production or the request originated from the user military forces. To meet such a need can be even tougher in the development of safety-critical weapon systems since the integration of the requirements for both systems design and systems safety would make it troublesome. To handel the matter in this paper, utilization of architecture DB is proposed. Specifically, the situation in demand has first been analyzed and then a problem-solving process to accommodate the design changes has been constructed. In doing so, the concept of the aforementioned integration is particularly focused on the functional architecture, which could be a core concept of our approach to solving the problem. The result of a case study demonstrating the method studied using a computer-aided systems engineering tool is also presented.

  • This paper proposes a maintenance method to integrate worker's safety concerns into the process activities of the manufacturing system and it is to be considered as a part of the scope of maintenance engineering. The proposed method incorporates worker's health and safety considerations into maintenance engineering in each of the manufacturing process using reliability analysis. It can help to make a better planning and implementation of maintenance activities for the manufacturing system.

  • The RAMS Process is the Internationally required activity to secure Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety of system which will be acquired as customer requirements. The importance are situations that have been growing gradually. Specially, When developing railway system, the needs of customer about RAMS Process has been being proposed in a variety of railroad business. Through this paper, It introduces the international standards described the RAMS Process and also presents the requirements that should have to comply with it. Furthermore, the necessary activities to get certificate of a Railway system are suggested and not only the various acquisition cases of certificate but also lessons learned by cases in the field of railway signalling system are presented.

  • Requirement management is an important phase that has a significant influence on the project success. As a risk to a project fail is getting bigger, people adopt Systems Engineering method to the development of the effective requirement management. Accordingly, Railroad Safety Technology R&D Corps. is progressing the plan of the construction of Railway Safety Test Facilities as a part of the Railway Total Safety Project to enhance the railway safety, and carrying out researches on effective requirement management methods with Systems Engineering techniques. To support that, we introduce the Systems Engineering Requirement Management Process and propose the more effectual management method of constructing the Railway Safety Test Facilities applying the model-based systems engineering tool to the research.

  • 지속가능성이란 사회적, 경제적, 환경적인 영향을 전반적으로 고려하며, 인간의 건강과 생활 증진을 내포하고, 환경자원의 보호와 경제적 번영을 의미한다. 지속가능성에 대한 심도 있는 이해는 이러한 환경적인 영향에 대한 고려뿐만 아니라 원료 및 자원채취, 이송, 생산 협력의 전반적인 순환을 다루어야 한다. 화학산업의 지속가능한 발전은 화학공정안전의 발전을 통한 상호보완적인 강화없이 이루어지기 어렵다. 이러한 관점에서 화학공정안전은 국제시장에서 경쟁력 강화의 기회라고도 할 수 있다. 화학공정안전의 변화하는 새로운 패러다임은 현존하는 시스템과 생산공정의 기본 디자인을 고려한 총체적 순환 전 과정으로부터 나온다. 이렇게 화학공정안전을 향상시키기 위해서는 관리 시스템을 포함한 정량적 위험성 평가 방법과 다양한 공정안전 데이터 및 지식베이스를 포함한 통합 스마트시스템의 개발이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 화학산업안전의 전 과정 순환의 필요성에 대해 언급하였고, 이를 향상시키기 위한 공정안전 신기술에 대해 논의하였다. 변화하는 공정시스템공학에서 사고 없는 지속 가능한 산업의 발전을 위해서는 3 가지의 S, 즉 안전(Safety), 안정(Stability), 안보(Security)의 조합이 적절히 이루어져야 할 것이다.

신경회로망 기반 우리나라 산업안전시스템의 모델링 (Neural Network-based Modeling of Industrial Safety System in Korea)

  • It is extremely important to design safety-guaranteed industrial processes because such process determine the ultimate outcomes of industrial activities, including worker safety. Application of artificial intelligence (AI) in industrial safety involves modeling industrial safety systems by using vast amounts of safety-related data, accident prediction, and accident prevention based on predictions. As a preliminary step toward realizing AI-based industrial safety in Korea, this study discusses neural network-based modeling of industrial safety systems. The input variables that are the most discriminatory relative to the output variables of industrial safety processes are selected using two information-theoretic measures, namely entropy and cross entropy. Normalized frequency and severity of industrial accidents are selected as the output variables. Our simulation results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed neural network model and, therefore, the feasibility of extending the model to include more input and output variables.

  • The main point of this study is to find out duplicates and differences among various regulations from different organizations. Also, it focuses on creating a reasonably unified regulation system to standardize safety & environment management. In this study, I analyzed the commonalities and the differences of two systems which are typical korean Process Safety Management System and off-site Consequence Analysis. It is confirmed that there are 25 species of overlapped material of those two systems and assessment like handling material information, facilities lists, hazardous substances and list of machine power. Process safety report focuses on onsite workers and facility protect. On the other hand, off-site Consequence Analysis focuses on design, arrangement and management of handling facility from off-site influence. I found difference two system of Enforcement purposes and way. Contradiction of Harmful information of Chemicals Control Act and occupation safety and health acts from same material. To be specific, There are no unit rule of occupation safety and health acts. so it permit inch, psi etc. But Chemicals Control Act provides that m, Mpa units. Therefore, Each regulatory duplication of items for chemicals management, standardization is writing so that you can coordinate overlapping items in the measures the need to be presented.

국내 철도운영기관 철도안전문화수준 조사 (Research of the Safety Culture Level in Korea Railway Corporations)

  • The safety culture of an organization is the product of individual and group values, attitudes, perceptions, competencies, and patterns of behavior that determine the commitment, the style and proficiency, and an organization's health and safety management. A good safety culture includes effective, appropriate safety management systems; strong safety leadership & commitment from management; participation and involvement of the workforce; and organizational learning and continuous improvement. This paper will introduce the safety culture inspection standards and process in Korea Railway. The main purpose is to get a better understanding of safety culture and to develop measuring tool. First of all we developed the composition factor of safety culture and the question set. And we prepared the base of computerization of safety culture measurement by developing of evaluation standards and weighted value.
