This study aims to suggest the PV lightshelf and to evaluate the power performance of the photovoltaic systems easily mounted on the windows. For the study, the suggested systems consist of two parts as fixed and movable PV modules. Also, tempered glass and polycarbonate are used on the surface protection materials for solar cells of PV lightshelf. By using polycarbonate, the weight of PV lightshelf is lighter about 20%. The field tests are performed for five days by using real size models. The voltage, current and electric powers are measured as basic performances of PV lightshelf. Also, the irradiation, brightness and module surface temperature are measured as outside conditions. As results, the power performance of tempered glass PV lightshelf shows about 11(%) higher thant that of polycarbonate PV lightshelf. And the power performance shows about 5(%) higher in a horizontal system. This results could be used to develop the effective PV lightshelf in next study.
One of the challenge for successful daylighting design might be to capture sunlighting that varies in both intensity and position and to deliver the luminous flux into the inner space as deep as possible. Conventional glazing apertures allow daylight in the outer 3.5m of a perimeter spaces. More advanced daylighting technologies can extend this daylighting depth by reflecting sunlight further from the windows within a deep floor area. For this purpose, this study developed light shelves based on performance evaluation with a mock-up model that constructed recently and measured under real sky condition. All these daylighting devices have a customized geometry developed from the solar path at a given latitude and utilize unique reflecting finishing to maximize the amount of redirection and diffusion of the daylight. This paper tells that the best daylighting penetration typically can be expected from using light-colored sloped external shelves.
In this study, Urban Climate Simulation was performed by 3-Dimensional Urban Canopy Model. The characteristics of urban climate was analyzed combining artificial land coverage, building size, heat production from the air conditioning and topographic conditions as physical variables which affects urban climate characteristics. The results are as follows. (1)The aspects of the urban climatal change is derived to be related to the combination of the building coverage ratio, building height and shading area. (2)Whole heat generation was influenced by the convective sensible heat at the lower building height and by the artificial heat generation at the higher one over 20-story building influence to some extent of the building coverage ratio. The effect of the altitude is not more considerable than the other variables as below $1^{\circ}C$ of the air temperature.

In this paper we describe designing and implementing a digital neural chip and a parallel neural machine for simulating large scale neural netsorks. The chip is a single-chip multiprocessor which has four digiral neural processors (DNP-II) of the same architecture. Each DNP-II has program memory and data memory, and the chip operates in MIMD (multi-instruction, multi-data) parallel processor. The DNP-II has the instruction set tailored to neural computation. Which can be sed to effectively simulate various neural network models including on-chip learning. The DNP-II facilitates four-way data-driven communication supporting the extensibility of parallel systems. The parallel neural machine consists of a host computer, processor boards, a buffer board and an interface board. Each processor board consists of 8*8 array of DNP-II(equivalently 2*2 neural chips). Each processor board acn be built including linear array, 2-D mesh and 2-D torus. This flexibility supports efficiency of mapping from neural network models into parallel strucgure. The neural system accomplishes the performance of maximum 40 GCPS(giga connection per second) with 16 processor boards.

In order to design and test an SoC modem for high speed communication, the platform with the architecture of such high speed communication is needed. That platform is needed for testing large data in speed of 500Mbps. This paper shows that transmission data can be uploaded and downloaded by 250Mbps between a virtual modem target board and a PC through the AHB-PCI IP and the speed of based on DPRAM and PCI.
HIGHT is an 64-bit block cipher, which is suitable for low power and ultra-light implementation that are used in the network that needs the consideration of security aspects. This paper presents a key scheduler that employs the presented LFSR and reverse LFSR that can generate four outputs simultaneously. In addition, we construct new key scheduler that generates 4 subkey bytes at a clock since each round block requires 4 subkey bytes at a time. Thus, the entire HIGHT processor can be controlled by single system clock with regular control mechanism. We synthesize the HIGHT processor using the VHDL. From the synthesis results, the logic size of the presented key scheduler can be reduced as 9% compared to the counterpart that is employed in the conventional HIGHT processor.

This research presents a DC-DC converter controller implemented with an analog memory. The structure of the converter will contribute to solve the stability problem unavoidable in a conventional closed loop converter. The analog memory will be used for realizing CAM(Contents Addressable Memory) which contains the output of the converter and the relevant duty ratio, respectively. The operation for reading in the memory is executed with an absolute differencing circuit and a WTA(Winner-Take-All) circuit suitable for a nearest-match function of the CAM. We also present a system architecture that enables highly-paralleled fast writing and quick readout as well as high integration density.
Faced with the international issue of environmental problems from global warming and energy consumption, the Korean Government has made many efforts on reducing energy and $CO_2$ emission under the motto of "Low-Carbon Green Growth". In order to reduce energy in the building sector, severe design standards and regulations on saving energy in new buildings have been established. Now, it is necessary to focus on deteriorated buildings where applications of energy saving designs and techniques have been insufficient, for maximizing energy saving in the building sector. Specially, it is very important to reduce energy through the remodeling process at deteriorated school buildings which were built over 20 years ago and sharply changed into the excessive energy consumption structure from new educational curricula. Thus, this paper examined the effects of potential factors to reduce energy at deteriorated elementary school buildings using the energy simulation on the Visual DOE 4.0 program. Among applied factors of insulations, southern louver, window's SHGC, indoor setup temperature, and system efficiency, all factors except window's SHGC turned out contribute to reduce energy at the deteriorated elementary school buildings, compared with the baseline energy performance.

The traditional way for convergence of smart appliances was software integrations on middleware. It is possible advantage to integrate easily and quickly with this way. But basically the middleware approach is slowly executed as it is huge the size of software. To solve this problem, we suggest a modeling tool for convergence. As we can execute and generate the automatic source code at the design phase with our modeling tool, it is possible to do software integration without the middleware. We use one example of U-Home environment to show the convergence for TV and the door lock system. With our approach, we will be able quickly to develop the convergent products what the customers desire with inexpensiveness, that is, the convergence of smart appliances without the middleware.
In apartment complexes of Korea shared space becomes more and more important since it promotes social relationship among neighbors and also as a ecological point of view. After the Green Building system was introduced in the society, it attracted more attentive as an essential component for sustainable community. Now, it's expected the shared space plan or the community center plan will be a hot issue in the society. Therefore, we could see an aspect of the gradual change related to housing culture in Korea and make a prediction how to develop the shared space as researching domestic leading studies about the 'shared space'. The purpose of this study is to identify the trend of academic achievement as shared spaces. 14 books and 43 studies are searched and each of them are divided into according to the subject. The concept of the shared space was introduced in a holistic moment and the design plans were presented in books in the early 1990's, and total community center it was introduced. The studies are naturally divided into 4 parts as time passed that are characteristics of the block planning in the complex, the needs of the shared space, the actual condition of the using shared space, and the case studies of the shared space. The shared spaces under the structure of the community center are expected to be developed in a more elaborate way to cope with increasingly well-being needs.
