UFMC is known as the one among novel multi-carrier modulation techniques which are designed for replacing OFDM for 5G wireless communication systems. It is the generalized model of OFDM and FBMC, which combines the advantages of OFDM and FBMC and avoids their weak points. UFMC is more robust in synchronization condition like Time-frequency misalignment compared to CP-OFDM. Moreover UFMC is more proper to burst uplink transmission like M2M 5G Communications. In this paper we analyze the BER performance in various channels and speeds. The simulation result shows that the BER performance is lowered when mobile devices are moving fast and the BER performance is so sensitive for the good channel environment.
In this paper, we propose a mobile watermarking based on the distortion analysis of display-capture image in a smart phone. We compose a random sequence by utilizing the property of frequency band in the wavelet domain. Then we calculate the CCS (Coefficients Comparative Sum) using the block wavelet coefficients of selected subbands after the wavelet transformation and the random sequence and repeatedly embed a watermark using an insertion threshold for the watermark robustness. For correcting a distortion caused by the display-capture process, we adopt a frame at the outside of watermarked image, then we can equate a watermark synchronization by detecting the frame. And we can improve frame detection ratio by using an iteratively adaptive threshold. A proposed scheme embedded information of 206 bits into standard digital images and it shows an average about 41.42 dB in PSNR. In watermark extract experiments, a proposed scheme accurately recognizes the frame more than 97% in total captured images. Also in BER (Bit Error Ratio) of captured images, it shows about 3.73%, then it was improved more than 70%, compared with the Pramila's method.

Recently, many of researches on stream transmission for satisfying each of different real-time transmission condition of the multimedia data that demands various service quality through high-speed networks have been studied actively. In this paper, we design a scheme that discriminately reserves the network resources for the transmission of each multimedia application and propose a bandwidth allocation scheme for improving the utilization ratio of free resources. And we also propose a pipelining scheme for providing flexible real-time transmission. The proposed schemes can be used to support a real-time transmission by applying feedback transmission control method based on receiving buffer for guaranteeing the synchronization conditions requested by the multimedia data. Moreover, we propose a transmission control scheme that can take the amount of network resources down to the minimum amount within the range of permissible error-range under the guarantee with no quality degradation simultaneously when the bottleneck is caused by the network congestion. Finally, we propose a dynamic bandwidth smoothing scheme that can smooth the maximum bandwidth to the demand of each video steam for giving continuous transmission to the delay sensitive video steam between senders and receivers.

RFID based applications that combine radar techniques to obtain the location and the ID of a tag have widely been investigated. In this paper, we analyze a recently proposed RFID system that can extract the tag IDs and their velocities using signals transmitted from the tag attached moving objects and verify its performance. In the proposed system, a beacon transmits triggering signal at regular intervals into a monitoring area and the tag receiving the triggering signal backscatters the FMCW(frequency modulation continuous wave) signal modulated by the tag ID. The reader system demodulates this FMCW signal using predefined two reference signals to obtain not only the tag ID but its velocity. In this paper, we show that the proposed system works properly and analyze the degree of performance degradation in cases when the synchronization error between the transmitting signal and the reference signal occurs, and even when sampling rate is lowered for implementation purpose. Finally, the analytical results are verified by simulation.

We are developing a receiver that integrates eLoran and GNSS for navigation. The receiver shows similar performance to LORADD receiver in single navigation using Loran-C. In the case of GNSS navigation, the receiver uses GPS and GLONASS or GPS and BDS, so it has better navigation performance than the LORADD receiver using only GPS. Therefore, it is possible to expect better performance than the LORADD receiver in the integrated navigation which can complete the time synchronization between the chains later and obtaion the TOA. Loran data channel decoding function is implemented for eLoran navigation and the function of eliminating error factors such as interference is being implemented.

The Bark Coherence Function (BCF) defies a coherence function within perceptual domain as a new cognition module, robust to linear distortions due to the analog interface of digital mobile system. Our previous experiments have shown the superiority of BCF over current measures. In this paper, a new BCF suitable for VoIP is developed. The unproved BCF is based on the wavelet series expansion that provides good frequency resolution while keeping good time locality. The proposed Wavelet based Bark Coherence function (WBCF) is robust to variable delay often observed in packet-based telephony such as Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). We also show that the refinement of time synchronization after signal decomposition can improve the performance of the WBCF. The regression analysis was performed with VoIP speech data. The correlation coefficients and the standard error of estimates computed using the WBCF showed noticeable improvement over the Perceptual Speech Quality Measure (PSQM) that is recommended by ITU-T.

A real time interactive controller (spectrometer) for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system has been developed using high speed digital signal processors (DSP). The controller generates radio frequency (rf) waveforms and audio frequency gradient waveforms and controls multiple receivers for data acquisition. By employing DSPs having high computational power (e.g., TMS320C670l) real time generation of complicated gradient waveforms and interactive control of selection planes are possible, which are important features in real-time imaging of moving organs, e.g., cardiac imaging. The spectrometer was successfully implemented at a 1.5 Tesla whole body MRI system for clinical application. Performance of the spectrometer is verified by various experiments including high- speed imaging such as fast spin echo (FSE) and echo planar imaging (EPI). These high-speed imaging techniques reduce measurement time, however, usually intensify artifact if there is any systematic phase error or jitter in the synchronization between the transmitter, receiver, and gradients.
This paper related with the performance improvement of adaptive equalizer that is a based on the tricepstrum eqalization algorithm by using the received signal. Adaptive equalizer used for the improvement of communication performance, like as high speed, maintain of synchronization, BER, at the receive side in the environment of communication channel of the presence of the aditive noise, phase distortion and frequency selective fading, mainly. It's characteristics are nearly same as the inverse characterstics of the communication channel. In this paper, the TEA algorithm using the HOS and the 16-QAM which is 2-dimensional signaling method for being considered signal was used. For the precoding of 16-QAM singnal in the assignment of the signal costellation, Gray code was used, and the improvement of performance was gained by computer simulation in the residual intersymbol interence and mean squared error which is representive measurement of adaptive equalizer.
This paper proposes a pseudo-random beamforming technique for time-synchronized mobile base stations (BSs) for multi-cell downlink networks which have mobility. The base stations equipped with multi-antennas and mobile stations (MSs) are time-synchronized based on global positioning system (GPS) signals and generate a number of transmit beamforming matrix candidates according to the predetermined pseudo-random pattern. In addition, MSs generate receive beamforming vectors that correspond to the beam index number based on the minimum mean square error (MMSE) using transmit beamforming vectors that make up a number of transmit beamforming matrices and wireless channel matrices from BSs estimated via the reference signals (RS). Afterward, values of received signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) with regard to all transmit beamforming vectors are calculated, and the resulting values are then feedbacked to the BS of the same cells along with the beam index number. Each of the BSs calculates each of the sum-rates of the transmit beamforming matrix candidates based on the feedback information and then transmits the calculated results to the BS coordinator. After this, optimum transmit beamforming matrices, which can maximize a sum-rate of the entire cells, are selected at the BS coordinator and informed to the BSs. Finally, data signals are transmitted using them. The simulation results verified that a sum-rate of the entire cells was improved as the number of transmit beamforming matrix candidates increased. It was also found that if the received SINR values and beam index numbers are feedbacked opportunistically from each of the MSs to the BSs, not only nearly the same performance in sum-rate with that of applying existing feedback techniques could be achieved but also an amount of feedback was significantly reduced.

To find a location, GPS has been wildly used. But, it is hard to use in indoor because of very weak signal level. To meet indoor requirements, there have been many studies applying wireless communication networks such as WLAN, UWB and ZigBee. Among these, ZigBee is widely adopted in many WSN applications because it has an advantage of low-power and low-cost. In ZigBee, the RSSI is used as range measurement for ad-hoc network. The RSSI are converted to ranges using the signal attenuation model and these ranges become inputs of positioning methods. The obtained position with RSSI has large error because of its poor accuracy. To overcome this problem, ultrasonic sensors are added in many researches. By measuring the arrival time difference of ZigBee and ultrasound as a range measurement, the precise position can be found. However, there are still many problems: scheduling of beacons to transmit signals in a correct order, addition and synchronization of beacons and low-rate positioning rate. At this paper, an efficient method to solve these problems is proposed. In the proposed method, a node transmits ZigBee and ultrasound signal simultaneously. And beacons find the range with the received signals and send it back to a node with ZigBee. The position is computed in a node with the received ranges. In addition, a new positioning algorithm to solve the risk of the divergence in the linearization method and the singularity problem in the Savarese method is presented. Both static and dynamic experimental results show 0.02m RMS errors with high output rate.
