Contemporary architecture calls for a wide range of surface textures and treatments. A surface compatible with the architect's design may vary from a glass-smooth finish to one requiring special sculptured ornamentation. These surfaces require many different types of form sheathing and lining. The purpose of study is development of new design form and made elaborateness shape. Architecture finish material not used expenses working hours, personnel expenses, architecture finish material cost. After this, building wall apply a variety shape in concrete surface and Easy to used in field.
Weight minimization of double-deck train carbody is imperative to reduce cost and extend life-time of train. It is required to decide 36 thickness of aluminum extruded panels. However, the design variables are two many to tract. moreover, one execution of structural analysis of double-deck carbody is time-consuming. Therefore, we adopt approximation technique to save computational cost of optimization process. Response surface model is used to apporximate static response of double-deck carbody. To obtain plausible response surface model, orthogonal array is empolyed as design of experiment(DOE). Design improvement by approximate model-based optimization is described. Accuracy and efficiency of optimization by using response surface model are discussed.

Surfaces of many engineering structures, specially, those of ships and airplanes are commonly fabricated as doubly curved shapes as well as singly curved surfaces to fulfill functional requirements. Given a three dimensional design surface, the first step in the fabrication process is unfolding or planar development of this surfaces into a planar shape so that the manufacturer can determine the initial shape of the flat plate. Also a good planar development enables the manufacturer to estimate the strain distribution required to form the design shape. In this paper, an algorithm for optimal approximated development of a general curved surface, including both singly and doubly curved surface is developed in the sense that the strain energy from its planar development to the design surface is minimized, subjected to some constraints. The development process is formulated into a constrained nonlinear programming problem, which is on basis of deformation theory and finite element. Constraints are subjected to characteristics of the fabrication method. Some examples on typical surfaces and the practical ship surfaces show the effectiveness of this algorithm.

This paper represents the response surface model for the cell gap on the flexible liquid crystal display (LCD) process. Using response surface methodology (RSM). D-optimal design is carried out to build the design space and the cell gap is characterized by the quadratic model. The statistical analysis is used to verify the response surface model. This modeling technique can predict the characteristics of the desired response, cell gap, varying with process conditions.
The Fine Blanking process is an effective precision shearing process that can obtain a smooth cutting surface and high product precision through a single blanking process. It is widely used in various manufacturing fields. However, shearing through this fine blanking process is only intended to minimize burrs, die rolls and fracture surfaces and does not completely remove them. Therefore, it is necessary to study the minimization of burrs, die rolls and fracture surfaces in the fine blanking process. In this study, a study was conducted on the relationship between the fracture surface and process conditions that occurred during product production using the fine blanking process. For this purpose, the shape of the V-ring indenter, the distance to the punch, and the pressure force, clearance, shear rate, and physical properties of the material were selected as process and design variables, and the relationship with the fracture surface according to each process and design condition was tested. It was analyzed through the Experimental Design Method.

In order to improve wear and fatigue resistance of the structural materials, especially cold work roller for 304 stainless steel, an eco-super-finishing and surface hardening treatment using ultrasonic vibration energy was developed and applied to the SKD-ll roller. The eco-super-finishing machine was designed and fabricated by DesignMecha Co, by its own technology. It was observed that the surface roughness, hardness and residual stress were changed from $Ra{\;}={\;}O.25\mu\textrm{m}$, Hv=710 and ${\sigma}$={\;}+400{\;}MPa{\;}to{\;}Ra{\;}={\;}0.165\mu\textrm{m}$, Hv = 1200 and ${\sigma}=-610$ MPa after 20 KHz micro-cold forging, which means almost equal to the 300 % improvement of life-time.

An optimal design method using a response surface method for dynamic characteristics of a washer is presented. The proposed method uses the design of experiment and a computer model is used for the experiment. The value of the cost function is estimated using a computer model for each case of the design variable variation. An orthogonal array is used to obtain best cases to be considered with minimum number of experimentation. Using these experimental values, optimal design is performed using a response surface method. The method used in this paper can be applied to any complicated mechanical systems that can be modelled and analyzed by a computer program. The method is applied to the design of dynamic characteristics of a washer.

The numerical methods including the performance analysis and the noise prediction of the centrifugal compressor impeller are coupled with the optimization design skill, which consists of response surface method, statistical approach, and genetic algorithm. The flow-field Inside of a centrifugal compressor is obtained numerically by solving Wavier-Stokes equations. and then the propagating noise is estimated from the distributed surface pressure by using Ffowcs Williams-Hawkings formulation. The quadratic response surface model with D-optimal 3-level factorial experimental design points is constructed to optimize the impeller geometry for the advanced centrifugal compressor. The statistical analysis shows that the quadratic model exhibits a reasonable fitting quality resulting in the impeller blade design with high performance and low far-field noise level. The influences of selected design variables, objective functions, and constraints on the impeller performance and the impeller noise are also examined as a result of the optimization process.
The present study examines the micro-pattern replication on a plastic film using ultrasonic imprinting. Ultrasonic imprinting uses ultrasonic waves to generate repetitive microscale deformation in the polymer film. The resulting deformation heat on the surface of the film causes the surface region to soften sufficiently so that a replication of the micro-pattern can be obtained. To successfully replicate the micro-pattern on a large area of polymer film, a high replication ratio is needed as well as good uniformity over the entire region. In this study, a horn design is investigated by finite element analysis and is optimized through a response surface analysis. In the ultrasonic imprinting experiments, the response surface method was also used to determine the optimal processing conditions for better replication characteristics.

This paper presents a study of surface roughness prediction model by orthogonal design in turning operation. Regression analysis technique has been used to study the effects of the cutting parameters such as cutting speed, feed depth of cut, and nose radius on surface roughness. An effect of interaction between two parameters on surface roughness has also been investigated. The experiment has been conducted using coated tungsten carbide inserts without cutting fluid. The reliability of the surface roughness model as a function of the cutting parameters has been estimated. The results show that the experimental design used in turning process is a method to estimate the effects of cutting parameters on sur-face roughness.
