Fibre to the home (FTTH) in KOREA has grown rapidly in recent years. The number of FTTH subscribers exceeded 6.6 millions by end of DEC 2008. It seems that FTTH has moved from the initial, the growth stage to the mature stage. Some design techniques have been developed in order to construct the access network effectively for the mature stage. This paper deal with design, construction and maintenance of optical fibre access networks immediately, effectively and economically.

The main idea behind the Intelligent Networks (IN) concept is the separation of switching functionality from the service control, in order to meet various service requirements of subscribers and development of new services in time. On the increase of subscriber and for high quality of service, the IN upgrades its service systems, and there are a number of ways depending on the system architecture and the characteristics of services. This paper compares two alternatives, traces the performance of them by means of the simulation technique, and finally puts a rule to select one of them.

The development of an open LBS platform makes it easy to use of the location information between telecommunication companies which have different platforms and to develop various LBS solutions using position information. The Remote Subscriber Switch system was developed for a purpose of expanding th service area of TDX-1, for a small group of remote subscribers. RSS system capacity of 512 subscriber, is connected directly to TDX-over 5 T1 carrier lines. This paper describes the RSS system architecture and major function of RSS.

In this paper the functional requirements of a B-ISDN access network based on MAN are investigated. Firstly, criteria of designing access network for the B-ISDN is studied. Secondly, the types of subscribers and their service requirements are defined. Thirdly, various architectures of CPNs(Customer Premises Networks) are considered and their characteristics are studied, Finally, the interworking functions of a DQDB MAN as an access network are investigated.

국내 전화 전송망은 El을 많이 사용하며, 음성 한 회선에 64Kb㎰를 할당하여 총 30회선 2.048Mb㎰로 구성되어 있다. El 방식에서는 TDM을 이용하므로 고정된 회선만을 이용한다. 본 연구에서는 CDM기법을 이용하면 음성 회선을 증가시키고 가입자수를 늘릴 수있음을 보였다.

The multistage wavelength division multiplexed passive optical network (WDM-PON) with multiple remote nodes (RN) can accommodate widely spread subscribers efficiently and it increases the channel usage. We implemented a multistage RN using band add-drop filters and it was applied to a wavelength-locked Fabry-Petor laser diode based gigabit WDM-PON.
