일부광역시의 치위생과 학생과 일반대학 학생의 치과위생사에 대한 인식도 조사 연구 (Awareness of Dental Hygienists in Dental Hygiene and Non-Dental Hygiene Students)

  • 본 연구는 치위생과 학생과 일반대학 학생을 대상으로 치과위생사에 대한 이미지와 인지도를 조사하고, 분석하여 대학생활 중에 치과위생사에 대한 올바른 인식을 형성 시키는 것이 필수적이라고 생각하여 광주광역시에 위치한 G대학의 3년제 치위생과와 J 대학의 4년제 학생들에게 설문지를 배부 조사하였다. 수집된 자료를 분석하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 치과위생사의 일반적인 인식에 대해 조사한 결과, 치과위생사라는 직업에 관해서는 치위생과 학생들은 97.5%, 일반대학생들은 80.6%가 인지하고 있었고(p<0.001), 치과위생사의 의료법상의 위치에 관한 인식은 치위생과 학생들은 의료기사가 52.8%로 가장 높았으며 일반대학 학생들은 의료보조자가 48.8%로 가장 높게 나타났다. 사회적 지위는 두 집단 모두에서 '보통이다'가 가장 높게 나타났다(p<0.001). 2. 치과위생사의 주요 업무에 관한 인식에 대해 조사한 결과, 치위생과 학생들은 X-ray촬영과 스켈링이 42.3%로 가장 높았고, 일반대학 학생들이 생각하는 주요업무는 치과의사의 진료보조 업무가 32.9%로 가장 높게 나타났다. 3. 치과위생사의 이미지에 관한 인식은 치위생과 학생들은 '전문직이다'라는 인식(4.05)이 가장 높았고, 부정적 이미지(3.05)가 가장 낮게 나타났으며, 일반학과 학생에서도 '전문직이다'라는 인식(3.43)이 가장 높았고, 부정적 이미지(2.91)가 가장 낮게 나타났다. 모든 항목에서 치위생과 학생과 일반대학 학생 간에 유의한 차이가 있었다. 이상의 연구결과를 바탕으로 치위생과 학생들과 일반대학 학생들의 치과위생사에 대한 의료법상 위치에 관한 인식과 주요 업무에 대한 인식 정도가 다르게 나타나는 것을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 일반대학 학생들에게 바람직한 치과위생사의 이미지를 정립하고 치과위생사에 대한 올바른 인식과 업무에 대한 인지도를 높이기 위한 홍보 및 교육이 모두 필요할 것으로 생각된다.

일부 치위생(학)과 학생들의 의료커뮤니케이션 교과목에 대한 필요성 및 인식 조사 (Needs and perception of medical communication course in the dental hygiene students)

  • Objectives : The aim of this study was to investigate the perception and needs for medical communication course in the dental hygiene students. Methods : A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 700 dental hygiene students after receiving informed consent from October 30 to December 20, 2013. Results : A total of 652 completely answered questionnaires were analyzed. The medical communication course proved to be very important necessary that 46.6% of the students said 'probably needed.' Only 5.1% of the students answered the course is not necessary. Conclusions : The majority of the students want the medical communication course. It is desirable that we need to set up a medical communication training and systemic course.

고교생들의 구강보건의식 행태에 관한 연구 -경기 이천시 소재 고교- (A Study on Dental Health Awareness of High School Students)

  • 본 연구에서는 이천시에 소재하는 고등학교 3학년 학생들의 구강보건의식행태를 조사, 연구하여 학교구강보건사업 및 교육의 방향과 목표설정에 있어 기초자료로 활용하고자 2002년도 9월 23일부터 10월 5일에 걸쳐 설문조사한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 하루에 잇솔질을 1~2회 하는 학생이 85.0%로 대부분을 차지하였고 1일 3회 잇솔질을 하는 학생은 여학생이 남학생보다 조금 많았다. 2. 치아우식증을 경험한 학생은 전체 77%였고, 치주질환이 있는 학생은 38.0% 대부분의 학생들이 치주질환 보다 치아우식증에 이환되어 있는 것을 알 수 있었다. 3. 충치나 잇몸질환이 있는데도 병원에 갈 시간이 없어서 병원에 가지 않는 학생이 가장 많았고 치과치료 경험이 있는 학생은 84.0%로 대부분의 학생이 치과치료경험이 있음을 알 수 있었다. 4. 치아건강에 대해 관심이 있는 학생이 46.8%로 남학생이 여학생보다 관심이 더 많았으며 통계적으로도 유의미하였다(p<0.05). 5. 구강건강에 대한 중요성 및 정보를 TV나 라디오 등 대중매체와 가족 또는 주위사람들에게서 주로 듣고 있었으며 대부분의 학생이 정기적인 구강검진을 받고 있지 않았음을 알 수 있었다. 6. 구강건강 향상을 위해 학교에서 구강보건교육을 받은 적이 없는 학생이 80.8%로 대부분을 차지하였고, 구강보건교육이 필요하다고 인식하는 학생이 76.2%로 성별에 따른 차이는 없었다. 7. 구강보건교육이 필요한 이유로는 대부분의 학생이 충치나 잇몸질환을 미리 예방할 수 있기 때문이라고 생각하고 있었고, 성별에 따른 차이 없이 구강보건교육에 대한 참여 의향이 있는 학생이 그렇지 않은 학생보다 더 많음을 알 수 있었다. 8. 구강건강유지에 있어서 잇솔질이 중요하다고 인식하는 학생이 69.3%로 가장 많았고 성별에 따른 차이는 없었다. 학생들은 정기적인 치과검진과 올바른 잇솔질방법, 불소가 함유된 치약을 사용하는 것이 충치예방에 효과적이라는 것을 대부분 모르고 있었다. 9. 구강보건지식정도를 살펴 본 결과 학생들의 지식이 낮은 것으로 나타났으며 성별에 따른 차이가 없음을 알 수 있었다.

치위생과 학생들의 입학전 학과 인지도와 만족도 및 취업의식에 관한 조사 (A study of dental hygiene students on school subject degree of recognition before admission and satisfaction)

  • A purpose of this study is degree of recognition and consciousness investigation about a satisfaction duty before admission about a school subject of some academic dental hygiene students. From responses to individual written survey questionnaires answered by 608 students who are studying Dental Hygiene at colleges in Mokpo, Iksan, Gangneung. The following are the results regarding their satisfaction levels with their majors and their interest in working abroad: 1. Regarding the motivating factors to major in Dental Hygiene, most students(51.3%), particularly most freshmen(57.3%), have chosen this major because of more job opportunities than students with other majors. The most common source of information in choosing majors is the Internet(30.8%). 2. Most students do not want to change their majors even if they are provided with the chance to do so(65.5%). They are in general satisfied with their studies. The result shows that the Dental Hygiene majors are positive toward their major. 3. Most students will choose their jobs by their own choices(40.6%), and the most important factor in their choices is the opportunity of self-growth and development(33.1%). The survey results show that the Dental Hygiene students value their own decisions and self-realization. 4. Showed the difference that as a result of having seen a knowledge degree advance a school subject of major in Dental Hygiene by a school year and ash students, an admission motive, relevance of an information acquisition path, all noted. 5. And were able to see the difference that noted in an adviser, work selection bases in case of work selection whether or not there was a dissatisfaction reason about a major and a criminal record.

일부 치위생학과 캡스톤 디자인 기반의 임상치위생학 수업 경험에 관한 질적 연구: 성찰일지 분석을 중심으로 (Qualitative evaluation of dental hygiene students following the application of the Capstone Design in dental hygiene theory and practice)

  • Background: In this study, the Capstone Design was applied to the clinical dental hygiene course of the Department of Dental Hygiene, and its effect was confirmed by qualitatively evaluating the students' reflection on the capstone design class experience. Methods: This study was conducted for the "Clinical Dental Hygiene and Practice III" course, in which third year students develop the ability to judge and plan dental hygiene based on problem-solving ability and critical thinking. By applying the Capstone Design within the core curriculum of the class, the students analyzed problems based on their major knowledge of dental hygiene in order to improve their ability to manipulate periodontal instruments, and focusedon the process of developing the contents of periodontal instruments by using them. Results: The application of Capstone Design on clinical dental hygiene and practice III classes increased students' active class participation, and through the problem-solving process, students' learning and confidence improved. Conclusion: The Capstone Design can be viewed as a teaching method that promotes the participation of students in the dental hygiene department and can effectively help their learning and confidence through a problem-solving process.

창원지역 초등학생의 양치습관, 간식섭취빈도 및 충치실태 (Study on Toothbrushing Habits, Snack Intake Frequency, and Dental Caries in Primary School Students in Changwon City)

  • This study was conducted to provide basic information on toothbrushing habits, snack intake frequency, and current dental caries in elementary school students. A total of 188 students (105 boys and 83 girls) in Changwon city participated in this study. Dental examination was conducted by two dental hygienists in July, 2010. The results were as follows. Exactly 86.2% of students were shown to have dental caries, which includes a sealant and removed teeth due to decay. The average number of teeth with dental caries per student was 3.8. Exactly 60.6% of students were shown to maintain correct toothbrushing habits to prevent dental caries, but only 12.8% brushed their teeth immediately after a meal or snack. Exactly 82.4% percent of participants received toothbrushing education, 47.1% of them received it from an expert, 43.9% received from their parents, and 28.2% used tooth paste with fluorine. Regarding snack intake frequency, ice cream was the most consumed cariogenic food and white milk was the most consumed protective food. The >=7 teeth with dental caries group consumed higher frequency of carbonated beverages intake than the 'no dental caries' group (P<0.05), and the '5~6 teeth with dental caries' group consumed higher frequency of chocolate intake than 'no dental caries' group (P<0.05).

초·중·고 학생의 치아우식관련 식이 섭취 빈도와 치아우식경험의 연관성 (The relationship between dental caries-related dietary frequency and dental caries experience in primary, middle, high school students)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between dental caries and the frequency of dental cariesrelated dietary intake among primary, middle, and high school students. It is intended to be used as a basic data for adolescent dietary guidance. Methods: The data were analyzed using the health questionnaire survey and oral examination data from the raw data of the 2019 student health test sample statistics conducted by the Korean Ministry of Education. A total of 59,370 primary, middle, and high school students were selected. Results: For middle and high school students, the more frequent the intake of sodas, the more cases of dental caries were noted. The rate of dental caries was increased in comparison to the group which did not consume dairy products or consumed these once or twice a week. Conclusions: For middle and high school students, dietary guidance should be employed so that consumption of sodas will decrease or consumption will be reduced to less than twice a week.

치위생과 학생들의 해외취업에 관한 의식 (Study of consciousness about employment overseas of dental hygiene students abroad)

  • This study got a conclusion following by questionnaire individual own recording law from Mokpo, Iksan, Gangneung to the objects to the academic 608 Dental Hygiene students whom had for consciousness investigations about employment overseas of some special college Dental Hygiene students. 1. Regarding the motivating factors to major in Dental Hygiene, most students(51.3%), particularly most freshmen(57.3%), have chosen this major because of more job opportunities than students with other majors. The most common source of information in choosing majors is the Internet(30.8%). 2. Many students have heard about overseas employment, particularly in case of juniors(82.5%). They want to work abroad if they are given the chances(70.6%), which indicates that the Dental Hygiene majors have much interest and positive attitude in overseas employment. 3. The most significant barrier to their overseas employment is the language, and thus the Dental Hygiene majors should improve their language abilities to be more involved in working abroad. 4. Showed the difference that an experience and light oil, the country where wanted to get a job at that tried to listen to relevance about employment of dental hygiene students by a school year abroad about these results, overseas employment noted. 5. While 'foreign language education must become activation' showed average highest, results to have seen relevance about employment time promotion plan overseas of dental hygiene students by a school year showed a difference by a school year.

치위생학 전공 학생의 특수목적 영어교과목 요구분석 (Analysis of needs for special purpose English curriculum of dental hygiene students)

  • Objectives: This study analyzes the demands of dental hygiene college students for English courses and proposes ways to improve English courses for college students majoring in dental hygiene that would take advantage of English for specific purposes (ESP) in the future. Methods: Using a structured questionnaire, four universities by region with departments of dental hygiene were selected at random, and out of a total of 260 college students majoring in dental hygiene, data of 258 students, excluding data with missing values, were considered for investigating the needs of English curriculum development using the SPSS program. Results: Total 82.1% of the students expected English programs, and they said that English was important, The proposal for English curriculum development indicated that although the number of English programs was sufficient, diversification of English programs or changes in methods of managing classes were required. As for the need for English programs (66.4%), they required more ESP, such as practical English for dental or dental terminology, which can be used clinically and more than English for general purposes (EGP). Conclusions: Students in dental hygiene showed a higher demand for more professional ESP that can use clinically as dental hygienists in the future. It is necessary to consider the reorganization of the curriculum or changes in the method of managing English classes by reflecting one demands of dental hygiene students.

치과의원의 감염방지 실태 및 치위생과 학생의 B형 간염 예방현황 (Investigation of infection control in the private dental clinics and prevention of hepatitis B virus infection among the dental hygiene students)

  • Objectives: Dental personnels have high chances of exposure to various infections during many dental procedures. This study was performed to investigate the state of infection control in the private dental clinics and prevention state of hepatitis B virus infection among the dental hygiene students in Kwanju city, Korea. Methods: Questionnaires were obtained from 94 dental hygiene students who participated in dental practice in private dental clinics for more than five weeks. Results: 83.9% of dentists and 17.2% of dental hygienists routinely used the mask for treating all patients, 32.3% of dentists and 6.5% of dental hygienists routinely used the rubber gloves. The use of protective eyeware was much lower in each group. Disinfectant was used in 52.7% for sanitization of dental instruments before cleansing. The prevalence of HBsAg and anti-HBs were 3.8% and 67.1% respectively, 52.7% of dental hygiene students had history of accidental needle stick. Conclusion: Routine use of personal barrier techniques by dental personnels should be emphasized. Dental hygiene students were not properly immunized against hepatitis B virus and had high incidence of accidental needle stick. It is necessary to establish specific regulations or recommendations for cross infection control in dental practice and to performed scheduled vaccination program for hepatitis B virus for dental hygiene students.
