  • Magnetically soft nanomaterials obtained by controlled crystallisation of metallic glasses are the newest group of materials for inductive components. In particular, research is carried out in the field of alloys for high temperature applications. This kind of materials must meet two basic requirements: good magnetic properties and stability of properties and structure. In the present work the magnetic properties and structure of Fe-Co-Hf-Zr-Cu-B (HIDTPERM-type) alloys were investigated, as well as their stability. Differential thermal analysis, (DTA), X-ray diffractometry (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), magnetometry (VSM) and quasistatic hysteresis loop recording were used to characterise structure and properties of the alloys investigated. Optimisation against properties and their stability was performed, resulting in formulation of chemical composition of the optimum alloy, as well as its heat treatment.

  • Semiconductor is one of the most internationally competitive areas among domestic industries, the major concern of which is the stability of the wafer manufacturing processes. The packaging process is the final step in wafer manufacturing. Problems in the wafer packaging process cause large losses. The vibrations are supposed to be the most important factors for the packaging quality. In this study, the structure of a packaging box was analyzed through experiments and computer simulations, and further the effects of design alterations to suppress the vibrations have been investigated. The final result shows that the vibrations can be reduced substantially to improve the stability of the structure.

  • In this paper, stability analysis of sandwich toroidal shell segments (TSSs) with carbon nanotube (CNT)-reinforced face sheets featuring various types of auxetic cores, surrounded by elastic foundations under radial pressure is presented. Two distinct types of auxetic structures are considered for the core, including re-entrant auxetic structure and graphene origami (GOri)-enabled auxetic structure. The nonlinear stability equilibrium equations of the longitudinally shallow shells are formulated using the von Karman shell theory, in conjunction with Stein and McElman approximation while considering Winkler-Pasternak's elastic foundation to simulate the interaction between the shell and elastic foundation. The Galerkin method is employed to derive the nonlinear stability responses of the shells. The numerical investigations show the influences of various types of auxetic-core layers, CNT-reinforced face sheets, as well as elastic foundation on the stability of sandwich shells.

  • The robustness and stability properties for a model reference adaptive control system with plant uncertainty are considered in this paper, using input-output stability theory. An error model for a typical adaptive control structure is extended to unmodelled dynamics in the plant model and then, the strictly positive real condition for global stability is examined. In general, since this condition can be easily violated due to unmodelled dynamics, a modified compensator which can be guaranteed Hev e SPR is introduced in the plant model and the effectiveness for the given structure is also given.

  • This article presents an overview of current research activities that center on colloidal crystals resulting from self-assembly of surface-charged nanoparticles. It is organized into three parts: the first part discusses characterization of colloidal structures, the second part describes colloidal stability from the rheological aspects of colloidal crystals suspended in medium, and the third part highlights polymerized colloidal crystals as a promising application. Finally, we briefly discuss the directions of future research in this area.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the application of Column Jet Method(CJM) as countermeasure against settlement and slope sliding of existing marine structure due to embankment load behind reclaimed revetment. CJM is to make high-strengthened body by compacting and grouting cement mortar after forming artificial space in the ground with ground relaxition machine or high pressure water jetting. Before the ground was reinforced by CJM, the result of slope stability analysis was not satisfy the allowable safe ratio, but after the ground was reinforced by CJM, the stability of slope was over the allowable safe ratio and stable, Therefor, the application of CJM to restraint settlement and sliding of marine structure was very satisfactory.

  • The security system using optical fiber is a system, circulating infrared rays laser pulse on the optical fiber which is attached on the security fence to prevent invasion, which can show invasion position with visible and audible signal on the situation monitor if an invader cut or pull the security fence with minuteness of 10m. The optical fiber can be also applied for the bed structure stability monitoring system of high speed train as well as security system. To apply this system for high speed railroad bed structures, this system will give an alarm if it detect excessive tension, shrinkage, deflection which is beyond the limit of structure, that will prevent serious railroad accident. In this paper, we like to propose that applying this system for security and structure stability can improve confidence and stability on operation of railways

  • since the controller is part or the overall closed-Loop system, it is necessary that the designed controller be able to tolerate some uncertainty in its coefficients. The adequate stability and performance margins are required for the designed nominal controllers. In the paper. we study the method to design the non-fragile fixed-structured controller for real parametric uncertain systems. When we impose the controller parameter perturbation, the structure of the controller must be given. Therefore, we assume that the controller has fixed-structure. The fixed-structure controller is practically necessary especially when the robust controller synthesis results in a high-order controller. In SISO systems, we propose the robust controller design method using the Mapping theorem. In the method, the plant uncertainty and controller Parameter are of the multilineal form in the stability and performance conditions. Then, the controller synthesis problem is easily recast to Linear Programming Problem.

  • This paper deals with the dynamic buckling behavior of truncated conical shells composed of carbon nanotube composites, an important area of study in view of their very wide engineering applications in aerospace industries. In this regard, the effective material properties of the nanocomposite have been computed using the Mori-Tanaka model, which has already been established for such analyses. The motion equations ruling the structure's behavior are derived using first order shear deformation theory, Hamilton's principle, and energy method. This will provide adequate background information on its dynamic response. In an effort to probe the dynamic instability region of the structure, differential quadrature method combined with Bolotin's method will be adopted to tackle the resulting motion equations, which enables efficient and accurate analysis. This work considers the effect of various parameters in the geometrical parameters and the volume fraction of CNTs on the structure's DIR. Specifically, it became clear that increasing the volume fraction of CNTs shifted the frequency range of the DIR to higher values, indicating the significant role of nanocomposite composition regarding structure stability.

  • Nowadays, the construction of new ground structures, which can influence the stability of existing underground structures, is increasing. Consequently, many technical problems occur during the design and construction stage of the new structures. In constructing a neighboring structure, reasonable design and construction is strongly required to balance between the stability of the existing underground structures and the economy of construction of the new structure in terms of the importance of the existing underground structures. Many researches have been performed to estimate the safe region and behavior of underground structures. Constructing a new ground structure above the existing underground structure, external loads are to be applied to the existing underground structure. In this study, therefore, the stability and safe region of the existing underground structure was re-established with respect to the relative location of the new ground structure with the underground structure, the depth from surface to top of the underground structures, and ground conditions.
