원자재 수출입 기업의 전략적 공급사슬지향성과 공급사슬 성과의 관계에서 혁신활동과 정보공유 활동의 매개역할 (The mediating effect of innovation and information sharing, in the relationship between the strategic supply chain and the supply chain performance of the raw material export-import firm)

  • 본 연구는 국제통상 환경에서 원자재 수출입 기업의 전략적 공급사슬지향성과 공급사슬 성과의 관계에서 혁신활동과 정보공유 활동의 매개효과를 분석하려는 목적으로 진행하였다. 455개 응답 표본을 대상으로 매개효과를 포함한 7개의 가설을 구조방정식 모형으로 실증분석 하였다. 분석 결과 전략적 공급사슬지향성은 공급사슬 혁신활동에 긍정적 영향을 주었으나 정보공유 활동에는 영향을 주지 못하였다. 공급사슬 혁신활동은 정보공유 활동과 공급사슬 운영성과에 모두 긍정적 영향을 주었다. 정보공유 활동은 또한 공급사슬 운영성과에 긍정적 영향을 주었다. 매개효과 검정에서는 공급사슬 혁신활동이 전략적 공급사슬 지향성과 정보공유 활동 사이에서 완전매개 효과를 정보공유 활동은 공급사슬 혁신활동과 공급사슬 운영성과 사이에서 유의한 부분매개 효과를 보여주었다.

The Effect of Strategic Orientation on Market Performance: Study of the Mediators

  • Purpose - This study investigates the effect of strategic orientation on market performance with emphasis on the mediative role of innovation capability, economic value and relational value in food producer companies. Research design, data, and methodology - In this descriptive study, a population of 244 managers and employees of Food industry companies in Tehran were investigated. The respondents filled a questionnaire on strategic orientation, innovation capability, economic value, relational value and market performance, during January to August 2018. Reliability and validity were evaluated by Cronbach's alpha coefficient and confirmatory factor analysis. To analyze the data, Spearman's correlation coefficient and structural equation modeling were used by SmartPLS software. Results - Effects of competitor's orientation and technology orientation on all three intermediary variables were positive and significant. The effect of customer orientation on innovation and economic value was positive and significant, but the effect of customer orientation on the value of the relationship was insignificant. Furthermore, entrepreneurial orientation has a positive and significant effect on innovation capability. The effects of three mediator variables on market performance are positive and significant. Conclusions - As the relationship between the mediator variables and market performance were positive and significant, companies should have a comprehensive plan of focus on strengthening these variables.

창업자의 전략적 지향성과 사회적 자본의 역할 (The Role of Strategic Orientation and Social Capital of Founders in the Performance of Korean Startups)

  • 본 연구는 창업자의 전략적 지향성과 사회적 자본이 창업기업의 성과에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 전략적 지향성은 기업가적 지향성, 시장 지향성, 기술 지향성으로 구분하고 사회적 자본은 외부 네트워크의 지원과 창업팀에 대한 신뢰 및 응집력으로 정의하여 그 효과를 실증하였다. 또 사회적 자본이 전략적 지향성의 효과를 조절하는 조절효과가 있는지도 살펴보았다. 설립 5년 미만의 79개 스타트업을 대상으로한 실증분석에서, 기술 지향성만이 창업성과에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 사회적 자본은 모두 창업성과에 유의한 효과를 미치는 것으로 나타났으며 그 조절효과는 부분적으로 검증되었다. 본 연구결과는 증거 중심의 스타트업 지원책을 수립하는데 공헌할 것으로 기대된다.

Social Media Strategic Capability and the Distribution on Innovation Performance for High-Tech SMEs

  • Purpose: This study aims at investigating how high-tech SMEs can enhance innovation performance through the application and distribution of social media strategic capability and whether entrepreneurial orientation moderates the relationship between social media strategic capability and innovation. Research design, data, and methodology: The study followed a deductive approach based on the quantitative design in investigating the proposed relationships. The data was collected using a questionnaire, and the proposed relationships were examined based on a sample of 221 high-tech SMEs through the application of structural equation modeling (SEM). By applying SEM, this study accounted for hidden and unobservable factors as well as reconciled the potential measurement errors. Results: As hypothesized, it was confirmed that social media strategic capability positively influences innovation performance. Besides, the findings supported the moderating effect of three dimensions of entrepreneurial orientation (innovativeness, proactiveness, and risk-taking) toward the relationship between social media strategic capability and innovation performance. Conclusions: According to the results, high-tech SMEs can enhance their innovation performance through social media by distributing and applying social media strategic capability along with entrepreneurial orientation. This study thereby enriches the literature of innovation on high-tech SMEs for implementing social media strategies as well as stimulating future social media research for entrepreneurship.

중소기업의 전략적 지향성이 정보기술역량과 기업성과에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Strategic Orientation on Information Technology Competency and Corporate Performance in Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises(SMEs))

  • 본 연구는 중소기업에 종사하는 조직구성원을 대상으로 전략적 지향성이 정보기술역량과 기업성과에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 검증하였다. 본 연구에서 제안된 연구모형에서는 전략적 지향성이 기업성과에 영향을 미치며, 이 과정에서 정보기술역량이 매개변수로 사용되었다. 본 연구를 위해서 울산광역시에 소재한 중소 제조업체에 근무하고 있는 조직구성원을 대상으로 설문조사를 하였다. 총 320부의 설문지를 배포하여 277부가 본 연구에 사용되었다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 24.0을 사용하여 통계분석 하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다: 첫째, 전략적 지향성의 고객지향성, 시장지향성, 그리고 기술지향성은 정보기술역량의 정보기술지식과 정보기술운영에 모두 정(+)의 영향을 미치고, 정보기술역량의 정보기술기반에 대해서는 전략적 지향성의 고객지향성과 기술지향성만이 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 전략적 지향성의 고객지향성과 기술지향성이 기업성과에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으나, 시장지향성은 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 정보기술역량의 정보기술지식, 정보기술운영, 그리고 정보기술기반 모두 기업성과에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 전략적 지향성과 기업성과 간에 정보기술역량의 매개효과를 검증한 결과, 정보기술역량의 하위요인인 정보기술지식, 정보기술운영, 그리고 정보기술기반 모두는 전략적 지향성의 하위요인인 고객지향성 및 기술지향성과 기업성과 간에 부분매개 작용을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 오늘날의 제4차 산업혁명시대에서 대기업과 공급체인 상에 있는 중소기업들의 경쟁우위 및 성과 향상을 위하여 고객지향 및 기술지향 경영전략을 수립하여야 하며, 이를 실행할 수 있도록 정보기술지식, 정보기술운영, 그리고 정보기술기반 등의 정보기술역량을 강화하여야 함을 시사해 주고 있다.

우리나라 병원의 경영전략 실태 (Management Strategy of Hospitals in Korea)

  • This paper investigates the current feature of management strategy of hospitals in Korea, and examines the relationships between adoption of a particular strategic orientation and the hospitals environmental and organizational characteristics, strategic behaviors and management improvement activities, and financial performance. Data were collected from CEOs of 88 hospitals among 650 hospitals for a 13.5% response rate using the self-administered questionnaire by mail survey. The major findings that obtained are as follows: 1. Only 37.2% of response hospitals carried out strategic planning, Most of these hospitals established the first strategic planning in 1991(81.3%) and renovated strategic planning by 4 or 5 years(56.3%), and modified strategic planning with flexibility(59.4%). Most strategic plans were documented, but informalized(68.8%). And only 29.0% of these hospitals had independent planning division. 2. Hospital services that CEOs assessed rank ordered for their impact on profitability are as follows: i)diagnostic ultrasound facility, computerized tomography scanner, obstetric inpatient unit, therapeutic X-ray, and physical therapy at present. ii)diagnostic ultrasound facility, physical therapy, computerized tomography scanner, emergency department, and health screening at future. And the services rank ordered that CEOs hoped to introduce are as follows: emergency department, physical therapy, health screening, volunteer services, and computerized tomography scanner. 3. Using a typology developed by Miles and Snow(l978), the strategic orientation of response hospitals are shifting significantly from defenders in the past to analyzers in the present, and to prospectors in the future(p<.01). 4. With regard to hospital environmental and organizational characteristics such as ownership, physician training, location, bed size, and hospital management training career and specialty of CEOs, the four strategic orientation archetypes varied not significantly. But, hospitals with a analyser orientation in the present and a reactor orientation in the future perceived competition significantly higher than the other three archetypes(p<.05). 5. The four archetypes rank ordered in terms of appling strategic behaviors and management improvement activities are as follows: prospector, analyzer, reactor, and defender. 6. The four archetypes differed significantly in terms of their financial performance using revenue per bed(p<.05). Reactors and prospectors in terms of total revenue per bed, prospectors in terms of outpatient revenue per bed, and reactors and prospectors in terms of inpatient revenue per bed had the best performance.

A Nexus among Strategic Orientation, Social Network, Knowledge Sharing, Organizational Innovation, and MSMEs Performance

  • This study wants to test the nexus among resource orientation, market orientation, social network, and knowledge sharing toward organizational innovation, and the nexus between organizational innovation and MSMEs performance. Questionnaires and interviews are conducted with some MSMEs actors in Central Java Province, Indonesia, in Klaten Regency and Pekalongan City. These two areas have creative MSMEs, especially Batik MSMEs that have been very large and known worldwide. The sampling technique is done purposively with certain criteria for the respondents. The data analysis technique is done using Partial Least Square. This study provides recommendations about strategic practice and policy (resource and market), social network, and knowledge sharing in increasing organizational innovation, and the impact of organizational innovation toward MSMEs performance. It also offers a comprehensive model of the determinant factor of organizational innovation by considering the aspect of strategic orientation, social network, and knowledge sharing. Other unique aspects that are also important to consider are social network and the importance of knowledge sharing in improving MSMEs Performance. The respondents are still limited in two areas, namely, Pekalongan and Klaten, so it still cannot represent the whole population. These areas also have different orientation of production process approach, namely, synthetic and natural dyes.

Does Brand Orientation Matter? An Empirical Study of Korean SMEs

  • Brand orientation is a relatively new paradigm in marketing which was first introduced in the 1990s. Since then, an accumulating body of research has addressed the strategic importance of brand orientation. Although there is a growing body of literature on brand orientation, there have been no empirical studies examining the mediation effect of brand orientation on market orientation-performance relationship to date. Moreover, most studies on brand orientation have been carried out in the context of large enterprises. Hence, the aim of this research is to extend the literature and address market orientation, brand orientation, and firm performance against the backdrop of Korean SMEs. The authors empirically investigate the impact of market/brand orientation on organizational performance and the mediating role of brand orientation. They utilize 178 usable responses to test the four research hypotheses. The hypothesized model predicts that there is a positive association among market orientation, brand orientation, and firm performance. It is also expected that brand orientation mediates the relationship between market orientation and organizational performance. The statistical results based on PLS analysis confirm our prediction among the constructs in the research model. The empirical evidence provides significant theoretical and managerial implications for brand orientation among SMEs. The first theoretical implication is that we provide empirical evidence regarding the important role of brand orientation in explaining the multi-trait perspectives of strategic orientation. The second theoretical implication is that the concept of brand orientation can be empirically validated in the context of SMEs. In terms of managerial implications, managers of SMEs should attempt to build a brand-oriented corporate culture or mindset that places brand values and brand norms as the top priority among their company's tasks. In addition, managers should recognize that brand orientation is critical for SMEs as well as large enterprises. In the last section, the authors address limitations of the study and provide directions for further research.

IT스타트업의 전략적 지향성과 성과에 관한 연구 : 기업의 사회적 책임 지향성 조절효과 (A Study on the Strategic Orientation and the Performance of IT Startups : The Moderating Effect of Corporate Social Responsibility Orientation)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 기술을 기반으로 하고 있는 국내 IT스타트업에서 전략적 지향성의 세 가지 하위차원인 기술 지향성, 고객 지향성, 경쟁자 지향성 각 요인이 성과에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아보고, 그 관계에서 최근 현대 사회에서 기업에게 더욱 중요하게 요구되는 기업의 사회적 책임 지향성의 조절효과를 분석하는데 목적이 있다. 분석을 위해, 스타트업 지원기관 등에 입주하고 있는 7년 미만의 94개 IT스타트업을 대상으로 PLS-SEM을 사용하여 측정모형과 구조모형의 적합성을 평가한 후 경로분석으로 실증연구를 완료하였다. 연구결과, 전략적 지향성의 세 가지 하위 차원인 기술 지향성, 고객 지향성, 경쟁자 지향성 모두 스타트업 성과에 정(+)의 영향을 미쳤고, 기업의 사회적 책임 지향성은 스타트업의 전략적 지향성과 성과 사이의 관계를 모두 정(+)적으로 조절하는 것으로 검증되었다. 또한, 본 연구의 결과는 기술을 기반으로 하는 IT스타트업의 경쟁우위와 장기존속을 위한 전략 설정 방향과 더불어 스타트업의 전략설정에 있어 기업의 사회적 책임 지향성의 중요성을 시사하고 있다.

전략적 인적자원관리관행과 조직시민행동 및 고객지향성 간의 관계에 관한 연구 - 조직지원인식의 매개효과를 중심으로- (A Study about the Effects of Strategic Human Resource Management Practices on Organizational Citizenship Behavior and Customer Orientation - Focused on the Mediating Effect of Perceived Organizational Support -)

  • This study is focused on analyzing whether strategic human resource management practices influence organizational effectiveness such as organizational citizenship behavior and customer orientation. In addition, it also aims to analyze the mediating effect of perceived organizational support between strategic human resource management practices and organizational citizenship behavior and customer orientation. The samples are from five Veterans Hospital and of 344 questionnaires collected, 311 were used in the final analysis. SPSS(18.0) and AMOS(16.0) were employed to describe data and test hypotheses. The findings are as follows: First of all, it is found that education and training and hiring management have positive effects on perceived organizational support while only education and training has a positive effect on organizational citizenship behavior. Secondly, results reveal that career management and hiring management influences customer orientation while only perceived organizational support does organizational citizenship behavior and customer orientation affects organizational citizenship behavior. Thirdly, it is also found that perceived organizational support mediates the relationship between career management and organizational citizenship behavior and that between hiring management and organizational citizenship behavior. In other words, perceived organizational support is a full mediator between career management and organizational citizenship behavior and between hiring management and organizational citizenship behavior because there is no direct effect of career management and hiring management on organizational citizenship. However, results show that any perceived organizational support doesn't mediate the relationship between all strategic human resource management practices and customer orientation.
