컨테이너터미널 장치장 점유율 추정 연구: 부산항 신항 컨테이너 터미널을 중심으로 (Estimation on Storage Yard Occupancy Ratio of Container Terminal: A Case of Busan New Port Container Terminal)

  • 컨테이너터미널 운영에서 안벽영역의 장비와 기술이 발전함에 따라 항만운영의 정체가 장치장으로 이전되었다. 따라서 장치장 관리가 터미널 운영 전반에 미치는 영향이 매우 커졌다. 이에 따라 컨테이너터미널 장치장 운영의 최적화를 위한 연구가 많이 수행되었으나 장래 장치장 점유율 변화 자체를 추정한 연구는 없는 실정이다. 본 연구는 부산항 신항을 대상으로 시간의 경과에 따른 확률의 변화를 설명하는 마코프 체인을 적용하여 부산항 신항 컨테이너 터미널의 장치장 점유율 수준에 대한 확률을 분석하였다. 분석결과 부산항 신항의 장치장 점유율은 향후에도 높은 수준을 유지할 확률이 큰 것으로 나타났다.

  • There were many theoretical studies using mathematical models about a yard storage capacity in a container terminal so far, but a simulation approach is newly popularizing. The reason why the simulation studies about yard storage capacity were a few was that once the most important part in a container terminal was a quay part. However, from the economic crisis year of 1977, the yard storage part in a container terminal became a critical resource because of the shortage of SOC investment resources. Therefore, after discharging or loading even through there was a waiting in the quay part or not, it can be swiftly improved the efficiency of a container terminal if it was handled rapidly or smoothly in a container yard. So the accurate assessment of yard storage capacity in a container terminal was needed. This study planed to assess the operation capability of a container yard via a simulation model. The model included many chatacteristics of three Korean container terminals such as Gamman Hanjin, Uam, and Hutchinson Busan at the period of 1999 to 2000. The 95% percentile was chosen as a criterion for judging of the storage capability by the recommendation of KPC (1998) and JWD (1998). A simulation approach with system dynamics concept considering the multi-directional impacts within the related variables can probavly foresee the future storage capacity of a terminal not just the past.

컨테이너 터미널의 자원 부하를 고려한 최적 장치계획 모형 (Yard Planning Considering the Load Profile of Resources in Container Terminals)

  • The main activities of container terminals are to load container freights to vessels, discharge them from vessels, and store them in the storage yard. Container terminals make many operational plans to execute these functions effectively. If the plans do not consider enough the loads of related resources, they may have low actualities. This study discusses the optimal yard planning model which considers various resources, such as the storage yard, yard cranes, internal vehicles, and travel lanes, in container terminals. The model determines the groups and amounts of containers which are stored in each storage block by using the resource profile. The yard planning problem is represented to the multi-commodity minimal cost flow problem and is formulated to the linear programming model. In order to explain the application of the mathematical model, the numerical examples are presented. Additionally, the relationship between the average load ratio and the relocation ratio is discussed.

  • 컨테이너 터미널의 핵심 기능은 컨테이너 화물을 선반에 싣고 내기는 것이다. 이러한 기능에 대한 생산성을 향상시키기 위해서는 보유한 자원을 효과적으로 사용해야 하는데, 본 연구는 RMGC (rail mounted gantry crane) 유형 야드 크레인의 배치 방안에 대해서 논한다. 먼저, 컨테이너 터미널의 장치계획을 고려한 야드 크레인 배치 문제에 대한 수리모형을 개발한다. 수리 모형은 한 기간 내에서 블록간 야드 크레인의 이동 허용여부에 따라서 2가지로 나누어진다. 제시한 모형을 검증하기 위하여 수치 예제를 풀어서 결과를 분석한다. 또한 장치계획만을 다루는 기존 모형과의 성능 차이를 분석하기 위한 비교 실험을 수행한다.

  • 컨테이너터미널에서 생산성을 향상시키기 위해서는 야드를 효율적으로 운영하는 것이 중요하다. 자동화 컨테이너터미널의 경 우 수직형 자동화 야드로서 기존의 수평형 장치장과는 다른 장치장 특성을 가지게 된다. 자동화 컨테이너터미널에서 자동화 야드는 자동 화 장비가 운영되므로 자동화 장비와 외부트럭, 본선작업 등과 연계된 효율적인 장치장 계획이 필요하다. 그러나 기존의 장치장 계획은 공간할당 문제이므로 자동화 컨테이너터미널에서 사용된다면 실시간으로 변화하는 장비 및 장치장 상황이 반영되지 않기 때문에 장치장의 효율성이 저하되고 하역시간의 증가를 초래하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 본선계획파 장치장 현황, ATC의 상황을 고려한 실시간 컨테이너의 장치 위치를 결정하는 알고리즘을 제안하고자 한다.

  • This paper considers the container storage problem determining storage position of inbound containers in a container yard at a rail freight terminal. The objective of the problem is to minimize the total number of rehandles when storing/retrieving containers onto/from stacks in the yard. Rehandle implies the temporary removal from and placement back onto the stack to retrieval a target container. In order to solve the problem, we formulate the problem as a binary integer program.

  • We developing for Gate-Container Yard model to execute the Input & Output process of containers which are waiting in container yard effectively and fast. The optimal model is developed to manage and trace the containers in yard. We developed the put-away strategies which considered the storage time for volume of transportation and the distance between blocks and gates using the MICRO-CRAFT (Computerized Relative Allocation Facilities Technique).

타부서치 알고리즘을 이용한 적치장의 블록 반출계획 (Deployment Planning of Blocks from Storage Yards Using a Tabu Search Algorithm)

  • At a shipyard, the efficient handling of blocks is one of the most important factors in the shipbuilding process. We consider the problem of deployment planning of blocks from storage yards. As some information of block arrangement should be considered to handle the problem, we adopt the block arrangement based on the coordinates and sizes of each block at a storage yard. Deployment planning for a block involves deciding upon its transportation route from the storage yard and searching for blocks that would obstruct its transportation along this route. A tabu search algorithm for deploying several blocks is developed to minimize the number of obstructive blocks deployed together from the storage yards at a shipyard. The results of computational experiments show that the developed algorithm is very useful in the deployment planning of multiple blocks from the storage yards.

  • A ship scheduling model is presented for the raw material transportation problem with yard storage constraints in a steel mill. The problem is formulated as 0, 1 mixed integer programming considering such constraints as loading port conditions, ship size and hold capacity, unloading conditions, and yard storage space. In addition, inventory related constraints including safety stock are taken into consideration to support the continuous operations of steel making process. The proposed model has been implemented and applied successfully to a real world problem, and its results show the improvement of performance compared to the traditional method. For example, the arrival dates of ships are determined satisfying the constraints. The total inventory level is minimized at the stock yard as a result. Also, the safety inventory level is always kept at the planning stage, and the standard deviation of total inventory level is reduced significantly. Further research is expected to develop efficient heuristics to have a better response time for even larger scale problems.

  • The design of the container stacking yard influences significantly the productivity of handling operations in port container terminals. This study proposes methods for determining specifications of the yard considering the travel distance of vehicles and the storage capacity of yards. For a given length and width of a yard, it is discussed how to determine the layout and the dimension of yard blocks. The alternatives of the yard layout are evaluated by using a simulation study.
