This paper examines a simple one-step and catalyst-free method for synthesizing carbon nanoparticles from aliphatic alcohols and n-hexane with linear molecule formations by using a stable solution plasma process with a bipolar pulse and an external resistor. When the external resistor is adopted, it is observed that the current spikes are dramatically decreased, which induced production of a more stable discharge. Six aliphatic linear alcohols (methanol-hexanol) containing carbon with oxygen sources are studied as possible precursors for the massive production of carbon nanoparticles. Additional study is also carried out with the use of n-hexane containing many carbons without an oxygen source in order to enhance the formation of carbon nanoparticles and to eliminate unwanted oxygen effects. The obtained carbon nanoparticles are characterized with field emission-scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and Raman spectroscopy. The results show that with increasing carbon ratios in alcohol content, the synthesis rate of carbon nanoparticles is increased, whereas the size of the carbon nanoparticles is decreased. Moreover, the degree of graphitization of the carbon nanoparticles synthesized from 1-hexanol and n-hexane with a high carbon (C)/oxygen (O) ratio and low or no oxygen is observed to be greater than that of the carbon nanoparticles synthesized from the corresponding materials with a low C/O ratio.

This paper presents the design of 32 bit microprocessor for a sequence control using a field programmable gate array(FPGA). The microprocessor was designed by a VHDL with top down method, the program memory was separated from the data memory for high speed execution of sequence instructions. Therefore it was possible that sequence instructions could be operated at the same time during the instruction fetch cycle. In order to reduce the instruction decoding time and the interface time of the data memory interface, an instruction code size was implemented by 32 bits. And the real time debug operation was implemented for easeful debugging the designed processor with a single step run, PC break point run, data memory break point run. Also in this designed microprocessor, pulse instructions, step controllers, master controllers, BM and BCD type arithmetic instructions, barrel shift instructions were implemented for sequence logic control. The FPGA was synthesized under a Xilinx's Foundation 4.2i Project Manager using a V600EHQ240 which contains 600,000 gates. Finally simulation and experiment were successfully performed respectively. For showing good performance, the designed microprocessor for the sequence logic control was compared with the H8S/2148 microprocessor which contained many bit instructions for sequence logic control. The designed processor for the sequence logic showed good performance.
Electrochemical behavior of the heavy lanthanide complexes of alizarin red S(ARS) has been investigated by d. c. polarography, differential pulse polarography and cyclic voltammetry. The reduction mechanism at a mercury electrode of alizarin red S as a complexing ligand showed a one step of two-electron transfer and the electron process is found to be reversible. Alizarin red S forms a 3:1 adsorptive complexes with lanthanides and the complexes are reduced via one step of two-elctron. The reduction potential of complex wave($P_2$) shifted more negatively than the ligand wave($P_1$). The linear calibration curves of the decreacing $P_1$ and increasing $P_2$ is obtained when the lanthanide concentration varies from $2.0{\times}10^{-6}M$ to $6.4{\times}10^{-5}M$ under the condition of pH 9.5, 0.1M LiCl and $1{\times}10^{-3}M$ ARS.
Endosomes lower their internal pH by an ATP-driven proton pump, which is critical to dissociation of many receptor-ligand complexes, the first step in the intracellular sorting of internalized receptors and ligands. Endosomes are known to exhibit n great range of pH values that can vary between 5.0 and 7.0 within a single cell although the factors that regulate endosomal pH remain uncertain. To evaluate the morphological and topological differences of endosomes in the different stages, confocal microscopy was used. The early endosomes labeled with fluorescein isothiocyanate-dextran for 10 min at $37^{\circ}C$ were identifiable at the peripheral and tubule-vesicular endosome compartment. In contrast, the late endosomes formed by 10 min pulse and 20 min trace were located deeper in the cytoplasm and showed more vesicular features than early endosomes. For the purpose of determining whether ATP-dependent acidification was heterogeneous and whether the differences in acidification were attributed to differences in the activity of $Na^{+}-K^{+}$-ATPase and/or $Cl^{-}$ channel, endocytic compartments were fractionated into subpopulation using percoll gradient and measured ATP-dependent acidification. While all fractions exhibited ATP-dependent acidification activity, both the initial rate of acidification and extent of proton translocation were lower in early endosomes and gradually increased in late endosomes. Phosphorylation by PKA and ATP enhanced ATP-dependent acidification in both early and late endosomes, hut there was no difference in the degree of enhancement by phosphorylation between two subpopulations. When ATP-dependent acidification was determined in the presence or absence of vanadate ($Na_{3}VO_{4}$) or ouabain, only early endosomes exhibited the vanadate or ouabain dependent stimulation of acidification activity, suggesting the inhibition of $Na^{+}-K^{+}$-ATPase. Therefore, it seems probable that the inhibition of early endosome acidification by $Na^{+}-K^{+}$-ATPase observed in vitro at least in part plays a physiological role in controlling the acidification of early endosomes in vivo.

Range and velocity measurement algorithm is a procedure for estimating the accurate target position by using matched filter outputs equally spaced both in range and doppler frequency domain. Especially, in measurement algorithm for multi-function radar, it is necessary to consider processing time as well as accuracy in order to track multi-targets simultaneously. In this paper, we analyze range and velocity measurement algorithm using discriminator estimation method which is a technique applied to angle measurement of monopulse radar. The applied method required constant processing time for estimation can be used in multiple target tacking. But, it is necessary to consider measurement accuracy because of using minimum channel outputs for estimation. In the simulation, we show that the applied method is superior to the traditional gravity center measurement algorithm with respect to the accuracy performance and also analyze the characteristics of the proposed technique by calculating RMS error level as the processing parameters such as pulse width , channel step, etc. change.

The high efficiency power management IC(PMIC) with DT-CMOS(Dynamic Threshold voltage MOSFET) switching device for portable application is proposed in this paper. Because portable applications need high output voltages and low output voltage, Boost converter and Buck converter are embedded in One-chip. PMIC is controlled with PWM control method in order to have high power efficiency at high current level. DTMOS with low on-resistance is designed to decrease conduction loss. Boost converter and Buck converter, are based on Voltage-mode PWM control circuits and low on-resistance switching device, achieved the high efficiency near 92.1% and 95%, respectively, at 100mA output current. And Step-down DC-DC converter in stand-by mode below 1mA is designed with LDO in order to achive high efficiency.

When the program voltage is applied to a word line, a part of the boosted channel charge in inhibited bit lines is lost due to the coupling between the string select line (SSL) and the adjacent word line. This phenomenon causes the program disturbance in the cells connected to the inhibited bit lines. This program disturbance becomes more serious, as the word line pitch is decreased. To reduce the word line coupling, the rising edge of the word-line voltage waveform was changed from a pulse step into a ramp waveform with a controlled slope. The word-line ramping circuit was composed of a timer, a decoder, a 8 b D/A converter, a comparator, and a high voltage switch pump (HVSP). The ramping voltage was generated by using a stepping waveform. The rising time and the stepping number of the word-line voltage for programming were set to $\mutextrm{m}-$ and 8, respectively,. The ramping circuit was used in a 512Mb NAND flash memory fabricated with a $0.15-\mutextrm{m}$ CMOS technology, reducing the SSL coupling voltage from 1.4V into a value below 0.4V.

Wavelength conversion devices are essential to build an expanding all-optical network, and various types of wavelength conversion techniques are being researched. Among them, wavelength conversion based on the cross phase modulation in a directionally coupled semiconductor optical amplifier has been introduced and the concept has been experimentally proved. In this paper, a split-step method is applied to properly model the mentioned wavelength converter in the time-domain and various characteristics have been analyzed. It is shown that the present modeling approach can explain the results of the reported experimental results. Furthermore the wavelength conversion is shown to be well performed when the input signal wave and the converted wave travels in the opposite direction. The simulation shows that the positive and negative chirping appear simultaneously at both the leading and trailing of edges of the optical pulse.

In this paper, vector analysis on the novel quick torque control of Induction Motors(I.M) based on voltage-controlled type is conducted. It was very difficult to get a step response of torque when the primary voltage was selected as control input of induction motors in conventional quick torque control methods. To solve this problem, the new control method was developed using a new concept of pulse addition which can realize the stepwise torque response of a specified settling time of $\Delta$. The new method was successfully confirmed through DSP(Digital Signal Processor) system-based experiments. However, it was a little difficult to understand the control mechanism intutionally. The purpose of this paper is to provide more understanding about the quick torque control mechanism using the vector analysis.
In order to investigate the effect of intracellular cyclic GMP on the calcium channel, whole cell patch clamp technique with internal perfusion method was used in the single ventricular myocytes of the rabbit. Cyclic GMP, cGMP analogues, cAMP, isopernaline and forskolin were perfused into cells and their effects on the calcium current were analysed by applying depolarizing step pulse of 10 mV in amplitude for 200 msec from holding potential of -40 mV. Calcium currents usually activated from -30 mV and then reached a peak at +10 mV. Amplitude of the calcium current was standardized with membrane capacitance, 50 pF. Peak amplitude at +10 mV in control was -0.15 nA/50pF. When 100 mM cAMP was applied from the pipette, peak amplitude of calcium current increased to -0.32 nA and addition of 1 mM isoprenaline further increased its amplitude. In the presence of cGMP it alone also produced an increase of the calcium current to -0.52 nA/50pF and addition of isoprenaline or forskolin increased its magnitude to -[0.55~0.95] nA/50pF. Simultaneous application of cGMP and cAMP increased the calcium current to -0.67 nA/50pF. Among the cGMP analogues, 8-Br-cGMP was the most potent stimulant for the calcium current activation. From the above results it could be concluded tlat cGMP increases the calcium current not through cAMP dependent protein kinase nor cAMP dependent phosphodiesterase pathway, but through independent phosphorylation pathway, possibly cGMP dependent protein kinase pathway.
