This study deals with the expressive characteristics of Installation Art and their applicability to environmental design, and as such, aims to specify a artistic methods from the contemporary art. What Installation Art is search of in their works is "the state of relationships" which is "to replace the concept of form with that of structure, and the concept of space with that of the environment" that is, the terms of relations in the overall environment of time and space. Installation Art essentially relies on a multiplicity of forms and attitudes leading to projects which positively make use of "spatial-temporal process" to reaffirm and "problematise" their open-endedness manifest in complex contextuality and shifting temporality. This study presents a new interpretation of spatial-temporal dimension, site-specificity, and intermedia art that we find in Installation Art and tries to combine that new artistic insight a with environmental design to provide a basis for integrated art. This study places a great emphasis on the interdisciplinary approaches to the environment we inhabit, which I hope will contribute to generating a greater number of creative possibilities for environmental design.

Ground-borne vibration is one of the main causes of environmental impact from subway systems. The vibration resulting from track-train interaction is transuutted through the tunnel structure and the surrounding ground to adjacent buildings. This paper provides a summary of proposed noise and vibration criteria, a review of the ground vibration propagation mechanism and the theoretical isolation effectivenesss of each of the following underground transit systems : track, tunnel and vehicle itself.

This paper presents the state of the art of the CFD applications to vegetated open-channel flows. First, important aspects of the physics of vegetated flows found through the laboratory experiments are briefly reviewed. Then, previous CFD applications to one-dimensional vertical structure, partly-vegetated flows, compound open-channel flows with floodplain vegetation, and fully three-dimensional numerical simulations are reviewed. Finally, topics for further researches such as relationship between the resistance and flexural rigidity, additional drag due to foliages, and melting the experience of CFD with the depth-averaged modeling, are suggested.

Vehicle fleet planning problem is generic name given to a whole class of practical decision making problems which find the vehicle routes and schedules to accomplish the reqired service to customers using vehicles. In this paper the various problems are classified into the three groups according to their characteristics: (1) vehicle routing problems, (2) vehicle scheduling problems, and (3) vehicle routing and scheduling problems. The State of the art of each group is described and the future research directions are presented.

As the logistics industrial environment becomes more complex and its scale becomes increase, the vehicle fleet scheduling system has become recognized the necessity as a major strategy in the logistics field. The vehicle fleet scheduling system is computerized package that find the vehicle routes and schedules to accomplish the required service to customers using vehicles. This paper introduces the state of the art of vehicle fleet scheduling system in Korea and foreign country and the future research subject are presented.

Beijing, the capital city of China, has gradually increased its amount of culture space and has also introduced a diverse range of cultural facilities to improve the satisfaction of its citizens lives. In particular are its art museums, which are a symbol of the urban culture and enrich the cultural life of its citizens and are also expected to play a role as a psychological pivot point. However, in comparison with the characteristics of various ethics, local, and the influence on the museums of China, studies which analyze the exterior of the art museums are not sufficient. This is because previous research has focused too heavily on the interior of the art museums. This paper aims to derive distinction through the analysis of the exterior of several art museums and present design factors and application methodology. This research looks at art museums in China and analyzes the current state of the art museums that have been developed based on the culture of Beijing. Through analyzing the case study of five art museums that have been selected in Beijing we can improve our understanding of Chinese culture space and derive distinct design factors. Distinct factors in the exterior of art museums include connection, culture, geographic features, public, and creation. This study is expected to contribute to that exterior of the art museum will be as a contact zone to form a spatial connection and a cultural symbol that can reflect Beijing's unique culture characteristics.
