Virtual Environment Modeling for Battery Management System

  • The offline verification of state of charge estimation, power estimation, fault diagnosis and emergency control of battery management system (BMS) is one of the key technologies in the field of electric vehicle battery system. It is difficult to test and verify the battery management system software in the early stage, especially for algorithms such as system state estimation, emergency control and so on. This article carried out the virtual environment modeling for verification of battery management system. According to the input/output parameters of battery management system, virtual environment is determined to run the battery management system. With the integration of the developed BMS model and the external model, the virtual environment model has been established for battery management system in the vehicle's working environment. Through the virtual environment model, the effectiveness of software algorithm of BMS was verified, such as battery state parameters estimation, power estimation, fault diagnosis, charge and discharge management, etc.

  • As of 2010, the state owns $24,086km^2$ of land, which accounts for 24% of the nations total land area of $24,086km^2$. In the meantime, the state-owned national property management policies enacted laws changed since the variety has been showing up but still a problem. Also recently, on April 1, 2011 amendment, the state-owned property law enforcement in the front and relieve the problem somewhat, but still state-owned estates efficiently and economically as well as management and operation of the state not be public purpose and welfare of the people in order for there not being used as a reasonable choice still remains to be improved is Free.

  • An estimated investment gap of $176 billion needs to be filled over the next ten years to improve America's inland waterway transportation systems. Many of these infrastructure systems are now beyond their original 50-year design life and are often behind in maintenance due to funding constraints. Therefore, long-term maintenance strategies (i.e., asset management (AM) strategies) are needed to optimize investments across these waterway systems to improve their condition. Two common AM strategies include policy-driven maintenance and performance-driven maintenance. Currently, limited research exists on selecting the optimal AM approach for managing inland waterway transportation assets. Therefore, the goal of this study is to provide a decision model that can be used to select the optimal alternative between the two AM approaches by considering key uncertainties such as asset condition, asset test results, and asset failure. We achieve this goal by addressing the decision problem as a single-criterion problem, which calculates each alternative's expected value and certain equivalence using allocated monetary values to determine the recommended alternative for optimally maintaining navigable waterways. The decision model considers estimated and predicted values based on the current state of the infrastructure. This research concludes that the performance-based approach is the optimal alternative based on the expected value obtained from the analysis. This research sets the stage for further studies on fiscal constraints that will effectively optimize these assets condition.

  • There have been several papers to illustrate how an information system is used in an automated warehouse system. These papers, however. do not carefully address the role of warehouse planning/control systems nor do they recognize how to integrate the management planning/control systems, and automated warehouse system. This article addresses such issues and shows how a business computer system can be used to integrate and unify the warehouse planning/control systems and the automated warehouse system into it single and highly productive operating system.

State-of-practice and State-of-Art for the Project Cycle Time Reduction

  • There are no formal decision tools or guidelines to assist owners and contractors in choosing delivery systems and project strategies that would allow for a radical reduction in project cycle time - from the preplanning phase through project start up. Therefore, it is important to identify the state-of-practice and the state-of-art on methods of achieving radical reduction defined as a reduction of 25% or more in overall project cycle time. A comprehensive literature review, three questionnaire surveys, and the seven case studies were conducted and the data obtained from them were analyzed to establish the state-of-practice and state-of-art for project cycle time reduction techniques.

  • The dynamics of unobservable short rate are frequently estimated directly by using a proxy. We estimate the biases resulting from this practice ("proxy problem"). To solve this problem, State-Space models have been proposed by many researchers. State-Space models have been used to estimate the unobservable variables from the observable variables in econometrics. However, applications of State-Space models often result in a misleading interpretation of the underlying processes especially when the absorbability of the State-Space model and the assumption of noise processes in the state vector are not properly considered. In this study, we propose the exact State-Space model that properly considers the faults of previous researchers to solve the proxy problem.

  • Most studies using state-space models have been conducted under the assumption of independently distributed noises in measurement and state equation without adequate verification of the assumption. To avoid the improper use of state-space model, testing the assumption prior to the parameter estimation of state-space model is very important. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the general relationship between parameters of state-space models and those of ARIMA processes. Under the assumption, we derive restricted parameter spaces of ARIMA(p,0,p-1) models with mutually different AR roots where $p\;{\le}\;5$. In addition, the results of ARIMA(p,0,p-1) case can be expanded to more general ARIMA models, such as ARIMA(p-1,0,p-1), ARIMA(p-1,1,p-1), ARIMA(p,0,p-2) and ARIMA(p-1,1,p-2).
