  • In the article, we handle with the existence and controllability results for fractional impulsive neutral functional integro-differential equation in Banach spaces. We have used advanced phase space definition for infinite delay. State dependent infinite delay is the main motivation using advanced version of phase space. The results are acquired using Schaefer's fixed point theorem. Examples are given to illustrate the theory.

  • In a delay line type of a time-to-digital converter implemented in Field Programmable Gate Array, the timing accuracy decreases for a longer carry chain. In this paper, we propose a structure that has a multi-phase clock and a state machine to check metastability; this would reduce the required length of the carry chain with the same time resolution. To reduce the errors caused by the time difference in the four delay lines associated with a four-phase clock, the proposed TDC generates a single input pulse from four phase clocks and uses a single delay line. Moreover, the state machine is designed to find the phase clock that is used to generate the single input pulse and determine the metastable state without a synchronizer. With the measurement range of 1 ms, the measured resolution was 22 ps, and the non-linearity was 25 ps.

  • This paper presents a robust state observer design for a class of Lipschitz nonlinear systems with time delay and external disturbance. A sufficient conditions on the existence of the proposed observer are characterized by linear matrix inequalities. It is also shown that the proposed observer design can reduce the effect on the estimation error of external disturbance up to the prescribed level in spite of the existence of time delay. Finally, a numerical example is provided to verify the proposed design method.

  • This paper is concerned with non-fragile guaranteed cost state feedback controller design algorithm for descriptor systems with time-varying delay and static state feedback controller with multiplicative uncertainty. The considered uncertainties are norm-bounded and time delay is time-varying. Under the condition of controller gain variations, conditions for the existence of controller satisfying asymptotic stability and non-fragility and controller design method are derived via LMI approach. Moreover, the measure of non-fragility and the upper bound to minimize guaranteed cost function are given.

  • In this paper, we deal with the problem of designing guaranteed cost state feedback controller for the generalized time-varying delay systems with delayed state and control input. The generalized time delay system problems solved on the basis of LMI(linear matrix inequality) technique considering time-varying delays. The sufficient condition for the existence of controller and guaranteed cost state feedback controller design methods are presented. Also, using some changes of variables and Schur complements, the obtained sufficient condition can be reformulated as LMI forms in terms of transformed variables. Therefore, all solutions of LMIs, guaranteed cost controller gain, and guaranteed cost are obtained at the same time. The proposed controller design method can be extended into the problem of robust guaranteed cost controller design method for parameter uncertain systems with time-varying delays easily.

  • This paper is concerned with the $H_{\infty}$ control problem of 2-D discrete state delay systems described by the Roesser model. The condition for the system to have a specified $H_{\infty}$ performance is derived via the linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach. Furthermore, a design procedure for $H_{\infty}$ state feedback controllers is given by solving a certain LMI. The design problem of optimal $H_{\infty}$ controllers is formulated as a convex optimization problem, which can be solved by existing convex optimization techniques. Simulation results are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed results.

  • A non-fragile guaranteed cost control (GCC) problem is presented for a class of discrete time-delay nonlinear systems described by Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model. The systems are assumed to have norm-bounded time-varying uncertainties in the matrices of state, delayed state and control gains. Sufficient conditions are first obtained which guarantee that the closed-loop system is asymptotically stable and the closed-loop cost function value is not more than a specified upper bound. Then the design method of the non-fragile guaranteed cost controller is formulated in terms of the linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach. A numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed design method.

  • This paper presents a new state feedback control approach for communication networks based control systems in which control input and output observation time-delay natures are generally occurred in practice. We first establish a generic state feedback control framework based on well-known linear system theory. A maximum time-delay value which allows critical stability of whole control system are defined to make a positive definite Lyapunov function which is mathematically composed of controlled system states. We analytically derive its control parameters by using a steepest descent optimization method in order to guarantee a stability condition through Lyapunov theory. Computer simulation is numerically carried out for demonstrating reliability of the proposed NCS algorithm and a comparative study is accomplished to prove its superiority for which the traditional control approach for NCS is made use of under same simulation scenarios.
