  • The purpose of this study is to suggest a plan to utilize atypical data in the health care field by inferring standard medical terms related to the musculoskeletal system through keyword network analysis of medical records of patients hospitalized for musculoskeletal disorders. The analysis target was 145 summaries of discharge with musculoskeletal disorders from 2015 to 2019, and was analyzed using TEXTOM, a big data analysis solution developed by The IMC. The 177 musculoskeletal related terms derived through the primary and secondary refining processes were finally analyzed. As a result of the study, the frequent term was 'Metastasis', the clinical findings were 'Metastasis', the symptoms were 'Weakness', the diagnosis was 'Hepatitis', the treatment was 'Remove', and the body structure was 'Spine' in the analysis results for each medical terminology system. 'Oxycodone' was used the most. Based on these results, we would like to suggest implications for the analysis, utilization, and management of unstructured medical data.

  • As the networks connect the world, enterprises tend to move manufacturing activities into virtual spaces. Since different applications use different data terminology, it becomes a problem to interoperate, interchange, and manage electronic data among different systems. According to RTI, approximately one billion dollar has been being spent yearly for product data exchange and interoperability. As commercial CAD systems have brought in the concept of design feature for the sake of interoperability, terminologies of design feature need to be harmonized. In order to define design feature terminology for integration, knowledge about feature definitions of different CAD systems should be considered. STEP (Standard for the Exchange of Product model data) have attempted to solve this problem, but it defines only syntactic data representation so that semantic data integration is unattainable. In this paper, we utilize the ontology concept to build a data model of design feature which can be a semantic standard of feature definitions of CAD systems. Using feature ontology, we implement an integrated virtual database and a simple system which searches and edits design features in a semantic way. This paper proposes a methodology for integrating modeling features of CAD systems.

  • Objectives : Nomenclature for medical terminology is the most important point in traditional medical standardization. For example, standard nomenclature for acupuncture points, herbal medicines and prescriptions have been treated. However, studies on standard nomenclature for traditional medical books are rare. Methods : Following up all articles in Journal of Korean Medical Classics[JKMC], which have romanized name for medical books and analyzing problems of those. Results : There were so several methods to write in romanized character even to unique and replaceable name. Conclusions : Romanized nomenclature for medical book as a terminology must have unique expression. So we suggest that authors to write articles have to use unique romanized nomenclature for medical books and books published in a certain country should be written in romanized characters with their own languages.

  • Globalization describes a process by which regional cultures have become integrated through a global network of communication. In order to communicate among different cultural groups, standardization of terminology is one of the most important steps among its processes. In the field of oriental medicine, there have been continuous efforts to communicate through various methods. Translation of oriental medical classics is one of the significant approaches in terms of transmitting medical theories and clinical experiences of thousands of years to the people of different cultural backgrounds. However, previous translation studies have had difficulties in delivering its underlying principles and assumptions due to lack of standardization of terminology. "WHO International Standard Terminologies on Traditional Medicine in the Western Pacific Region(WHO-IST)" is the outcome of developing standard terminologies on oriental medicine based on mutual agreement of researchers of Korea, China and Japan. As a movement to find more efficient methodology for communication between heterogeneous communities, this study aims to translate parts of "Classic of difficult issues(難經)" into English adopting "WHO-IST" hoping to set a model of translation study.

  • As technology is developed, the quantity of new vocabularies is increasing more rapidly. So many vocabularies of technology have various meanings for each part and are used diversely according to circumstances. Therefore, the necessity of reasonable methods of standardization and purification is increasing and it is necessary to establish a classification system of terminology for the first phase of the standardization. Firstly, based on classification systems of power and IT standard dictionaries, scientific and technological standard, SPARK, power IT fields of IEC and organization units of corporations, we propose a new classification system for the standardization of power IT terminologies. The classification system consists of a hierarchical structure with general classification, application fields and specific technologies while keeping the conventional matrix-type classification system. And interpretation methods of power IT terminologies, which are classified according to the new classification system for the standardization of power IT terminologies, is proposed. The interpretation works of the power IT terminologies confirm that the classification system is systematic and the interpretation process is efficient.

  • Capsule endoscopy is one of the increasingly demanded diagnostic methods among patients in recent years because of its ability to observe small intestine difficulties. It is often conducted for 12 to 14 hours, but significant frames constitute only 10% of whole frames. Thus, it has been designed to automatically acquire significant frames through deep learning. For example, studies to track the position of the capsule (stomach, small intestine, etc.) or to extract lesion-related information (polyps, etc.) have been conducted. However, although grouping or labeling the training images according to similar features can improve the performance of a learning model, various attributes (such as degree of wrinkles, presence of valves, etc.) are not considered in conventional approaches. Therefore, we propose a class-labeling method that can be used to design a learning model by constructing a knowledge model focused on main lesions defined in standard terminologies for capsule endoscopy (minimal standard terminology, capsule endoscopy structured terminology). This method enables the designing of a systematic learning model by labeling detailed classes through differentiation of similar characteristics.

  • In this paper, I introduce the development of a system to register Korean standard technical terms which are corresponded with English electronical terminologies on the Electropedia of the International Electronical Committee(IEC). In 2016, this project was started with the permission of registration at the Technical Committee 1 of the $80^{th}$ IEC General Meeting in Frankfurt, Germany. The work was consisted of 3 parts, the 1st step was gathering Korean vocabularies and building a databse for the translation of English terms of International Electronical Vocabulary(IEV) into Korean terms, the 2nd step was to find correct or proper Korean term which is in accord with each English term of IEV on the Electropedia. In this step, members of Korean TC 1 worked for search proper Korean terms using developed computer programs and databases which were made of Korean electronical dictionaries. After selection of proper terms, they did the cross-checking work for Korean terms each other. The last step was to register all of these Korean terms on the Electropedia. As a result, 20,766 Korean electronical terms were registered on the Electropedia in 2017. In the future, it is needed that the definition of English technical terms are translated into Korean.

  • This study intends to gather terminology as a first step for encyclopedia of furniture from four areas such as traditional Korean furniture and architecture, modern and contemporary furniture, wood science, and wood culture by each expert. Since China, Japan, America, and European countries have chronologically influenced domestic furniture culture, the furniture terms are currently used by mixed languages such as Chinese characters, Japanese, English, Russian, Korean, etc., in the furniture fields and education. Domestic furniture companies and schools have had lots of difficulties in carrying out works due to the furniture terms not unified. This paper carried out through domestic furniture fields, internet, and furniture books from the inside and outside of the country, including the references of architecture, interior, crafts, and wood science and culture in order to research the terminology, results in the confusing language use of furniture terms at the furniture companies, schools for furniture education, and wood workshops having their own furniture terms. Therefore, for unified and standard furniture terminology, the terms gathered must be reviewed and conformed through the committee composed with the relevant experts so that it will be able to help the relevant business and education carry out their work better.
