A Study on the Model and the Design Procedure of the Contact Stabilization Process (접촉안정법(接觸安定法)의 모델과 설계법(設計法)에 관한 연구(硏究))

  • The mechanisms and the models of the contact stabilization process were briefly reviewed. The researchers proposed the more practical and rational models and the procedure for the design of the contact stabilization process. These models were derived from the material balances of the system based on the increase of Mixed Liquor Suspended Solids (MLSS) in. the contact tank and the decrease of MLSS in the stabilization tank. The proposed models were also discussed with the experimental data.

  • This paper presents realization and evaluation of digital image stabilization for roil motion. The proposed image stabilizer has been implemented on the DSP based hardware and DSP/BIOS software. The proposed image stabilizer is tested in the field. The results show good performance with the sufficient bandwidth. The proposed image stabilizer is combined with mechanical stabilizer and tested to evaluate whether that is feasible for 3-axis stabilization of tank sight system. The results also show food performance.

  • Video stabilization is an important image enhancement widely used in surveillance system in order to improve recognition performance. Most previous methods calculate inter-frame homography to estimate global motion. These methods are relatively slow and suffer from significant depth variations or multiple moving object. In this paper, we propose a fast and practical approach for video stabilization that selects the most reliable key frame as a reference frame to a current frame. We use optical flow to estimate global motion within an adaptively selected region of interest in static camera environment. Optimal global motion is found by probabilistic voting in the space of optical flow. Experiments show that our method can perform real-time video stabilization validated by stabilized images and remarkable reduction of mean color difference between stabilized frames.

Using MZIs for Optical PSBT Transmissions: Requirements for Thermal Stabilization

  • In this paper, we discuss the quantification of Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) thermal stabilization which is needed in optical phase shaped binary transmission (PSBT) links. Considering the thermo-optic and thermal expansion effects, we revisit the analytical expression for the thermal drift (GHz/$^{\circ}C$) of the MZI center frequency (denoted here by the 'MZI spectral drift'). An MZI is then used in an experimental transmission system using the optical PSBT format. We study the effect of spectral MZI drift by using a thermally stabilized interferometer and applying a frequency shift to the optical carrier. By using the thermal drift coefficient of the MZI, we find that to ensure low bit error rate fluctuations due to the MZI drift, the thermal stabilization of the device must have an accuracy of $0.5^{\circ}C$.

  • In this study, to evaluate the slope and tunnel stabilization method using pc cable with bulbed. To estimate the application of tunnel support using field tests and numerical analysis results. The reinforcement effects of slope stabilization method reinforced by PC cables were estimated compared with conventional soil nail system that reinforce the slope using rebar.

  • This paper deals with the design problem of robust stabilization and non-fragile controller for discrete-time singular systems with parameter uncertainties and time-varying delays in state and input by delay-dependent Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI) approach. A new delay-dependent bounded real lemma for singular systems with time-varying delays is derived. Robust stabilization and robust non-fragile state feedback control laws are proposed, which guarantees that the resultant closed-loop system is regular, causal and stable in spite of time-varying delays, parameter uncertainties, and controller gain variations. A numerical example is given to show the validity of the design method.

  • This paper suggests easy stabilization methods for linear time-varying systems with delay in the state. While existing methods employ the function space concept, the methods introduced in this paper transform the delay systems into the non-delay systems so that the well known methods for finite dimensional systems can be utilized. Particularly the intervalwise predictor is introduced and shown to satisfy an ordinary system. Control laws stabilizing the non-delay systems satisfied by this predictor will be shown to at least pointwise stabilize the delay systems with the additional strong possibility of true stabilization. In order to combine two steps of the predictor method, first transformation and then stabilization, an intervalwise regulator problem is suggested whose optimal control laws incorporate the intervalwise predictor as an integral part and also at least pointwise stabilize the delay systems. Since the above mentioned methods render the periodic feedback gains for time invariant systems the pointwise predictor and regulator are introduced in order to obtain the constant feedback gains, with additional stability properties. The control laws given in this paper are perhaps simplest and easiest to implement.

Effect of Ankle Stabilization Training Using Biofeedback on Balance Ability and Lower Limb Muscle Activity in Football Players with Functional Ankle Instability

  • Purpose: This study focuses on influence of ankle stabilization training on balance ability and lower limb muscle activation of soccer player with functional ankle instability. Methods: Subjects were grouped into ankle stabilization training group using biofeedback comprised of 15 subjects and general exercise group of 15. The training was conducted for 30 minutes, 3 times a week for 8 weeks in total. All 30 football players conducted plyometric training for 30 minutes before main training. To evaluate balance ability, biorescure was used to measure whole path length and surface area and surface electromyography (EMG) system was used to measure tibialis anterior, tibialis posterior, and soleus to evaluate lower limb muscle activation. Results: The experiment group showed significant difference to the comparison group in regard of whole path length and surface area which represents balancing capability and muscle activation of tibialis anterior, tibialis posterior, and soleus. Conclusion: Therefore, ankle stabilization training using biofeedback is more effective in enhancing balance ability and lower limb muscle activation than general exercise.

  • The EOTS(Electro Optical Tracking System) must have stabilization performance to provide high-quality images under disturbance environment. In this paper, we present a controller that can minimize the LOS error and has a simple structure. Hence, to evaluate the performance of this controller, analysis in the frequency domain and LOS error measurement are performed. In order to measure the LOS error without a 'rate table' that requires a lot of facility investment, we propose a design method for disturbance model that considers the operating environment of the EOTS. Finally, the performance of the stabilization algorithm is evaluated by the proposed disturbance model.

Robust stabilization of uncertain time-delay systems with saturating actuator (포화 구동기를 갖는 시간 지연 시스템의 제어기 설계)

  • This paper focuses on the problem of asymptotic stabilization for uncertain time-delay systems with saturating actuator. We propose a state feedback controller which maximizes the delay bound for guaranteeing stability of the system. Then, based on the Lyapunov method, a delay-dependent stabilization criterion is devised by taking the relationship between the terms in the Leibniz-Newton formula into account. The criterion is represented in terms of LMIs, which can be solved by various efficient convex optimization algorithm. Numerical examples are given to illustrate our main method.
