The construction of great deep tunnels has become an important part in tunnel construction especially in the mountain area. Therefore, it is necessary to establish the proper method of the stability analysis for great deep tunnels. In this paper presents the study result on the followings: (1) Evaluation of practical problem on the stability analysis of great deep tunnels. (2) Proposal of the proper on method for great deep tunnels analysis considering the depth of overburden. (3) Understanding of the ground behavior of the great deep tunnel through the sensitivity analysis and the parametric study.

In this study, We peformed on the effective evaluation of slope berm construction using slope stability analysis programs. The effective evaluation of slope berm construction was performed by stability of slope and economy of construction. This time, used slope stability analysis programs are Talren97 that use Limit equilibrium method (LEM) and FLAC-SLOPE that use finite difference method (FDM), and carried out using Rocfall program to evaluate slope stability by rockfall occurrence.

In this study, we compared and analyzed the static and dynamic analysis method for agricultural reservoirs. In addition, we assumed the aging of reservoir as the deterioration of the internal friction angle and cohesion. The internal friction angle and cohesion were applied by dividing into 4 case for each reservoir. As a result of comparing the stability of the reservoir embankment, it was found that the dynamic stability analysis method showed a greater risk than the static stability analysis method when dynamic loads such as earthquakes were applied. Therefore, when detailed review such as liquefaction is required, it is considered that the dynamic stability analysis method should be applied first. If a study on the change in material properties due to the aging of the reservoir is conducted, the stability analysis of the reservoir due to the aging of the reservoir can be performed more accurately. In addition, if a study comparing the results of dynamic stability analysis and static stability analysis for earthquakes with various characteristics for more reservoirs is conducted, detailed criteria for the case where dynamic stability analysis should be considered can be presented.
In comparison with the existing static reliability analysis methods, the dynamic reliability analysis(DyRA) method is more suitable for estimating the failure probability of a structure subjected to earthquake excitations because it can take into account the frequency characteristics and damping capacity of the structure. However, the DyRA is known to have an issue of numerical stability due to the uncertainty in random sampling of the earthquake excitations. In order to solve this numerical stability issue in the DyRA approach, this study proposed two earthquake-scale factors. The first factor is defined as the ratio of the first earthquake excitation over the maximum value of the remaining excitations, and the second factor is defined as the condition number of the matrix consisting of the earthquake excitations. Then, we have performed parametric studies of two factors on numerical stability of the DyRA method. In illustrative example, it was clearly confirmed that the two factors can be used to verify the numerical stability of the proposed DyRA method. However, there exists a difference between the two factors. The first factor showed some overlapping region between the stable results and the unstable results so that it requires some additional reliability analysis to guarantee the stability of the DyRA method. On the contrary, the second factor clearly distinguished the stable and unstable results of the DyRA method without any overlapping region. Therefore, the second factor can be said to be better than the first factor as the criterion to determine whether or not the proposed DyRA method guarantees its numerical stability. In addition, the accuracy of the numerical analysis results of the proposed DyRA has been verified in comparison with those of the existing first-order reliability method(FORM), Monte Carlo simulation(MCS) method and subset simulation method(SSM). The comparative results confirmed that the proposed DyRA method can provide accurate and reliable estimation of the structural failure probability while maintaining the superior numerical efficiency over the existing methods.

The major concern of networked control system is network uncertainties such as time delay and data loss. Because these uncertainties may degrade the performance of networked control system and destabilize the entire system. Therefore, the performance and the stability variation of networked control system due to network uncertainties must be considered first in designing networked control system. In particular, the stability analysis of networked control system is most important issue since time delay and data loss can make the overall systems unstable. In this paper, we present a new stability analysis method of networked control system with time delay and data loss, which is impossible in previous works. The proposed method can determine maximum time delay and allowable transmission rate that preserve stability performance of networked control system. The results of the simulation validate effectiveness of our stability analysis method.
Rock mass includes such discontinuities as fault, joint, bedding, crack, schistosity, cleavage. The rock mass behavior, therefore, is influenced by the discontinuity behavior. In this study, a stability and deformation analysis method considering discontinuities in rock mass is proposed, and then applied to the rock collapse disaster site. As the method, the stability analysis by the stereographic projection method was carried out in an actual site, the deformation analysis program by the finite element method including the joint element was developed, and performed. To demonstrate the applicability of this developed stability and deformation analysis method considering discontinuities in rock mass, the analysis results are examined and compared with the failure behavior at the rock mass.
Structures to support against slop failures or resist earth pressure like masonry retaining walls or retaining walls have continued to advance and evolve to new eco-friendly, easy-to-construct, crib retaining walls with varied forms and construction methods, meeting the needs of the times. Researches until now, however, have focused on the analyses of site displacement or stability of the whole site including structures like retaining walls, and thus, researches on rational design or method for stability analysis are lacking. Therefore, this study was conducted on a number of stability analyses, such as the visual power line or stability on sliding, being presented for bin walls, which enable vegetation to grow and were developed and applied in varied forms, meeting the development demands for eco-friendly retaining wall structures. This study compared the results of stability analyses, determined their feasibility, and evaluated their stability according to the height and facade slope of retaining walls. According to the results of this study, traditional masonry retaining wall analysis showed rather conservative stability evaluation results in the stability evaluation of bin walls, and the method using the visual power line seems to be objective because it produced similar results to the stability evaluation method on sliding or turnover.

This study performed slope stability analysis by changing analysis methods and shear strength with the slope stability analysis program. The conclusions of the study are as follows. 1) The safe factor of clayey soil applied with Bishop's simple method turned out to be similar to or slightly higher than those of other methods, for both dry and saturated conditions. 2) The safe factor of sandy soil applied with GLE method turned out to be slightly higher than those of other methods. But when applied with Bishop's simple method, it appeared to be slightly higher than those of other methods. 3) The safe factor of ordinary soil applied with GLE method showed the highest result. 4) Janbu method showed the lowest safe factor among all the methods for the above three types of soils.

For robust stability analysis of parameters uncertainty missiles, the traditional frequency domain method can only analyze each respective channel at several interval points within uncertain parameter space. Discontinuous calculation and couplings between channels will lead to inaccurate analysis results. A method based on the ${\nu}$-gap metric is proposed, which is able to comprehensively evaluate the robust stability of missiles with uncertain parameters; and then a genetic-simulated annealing hybrid optimization algorithm, which has global and local searching ability, is used to search for a parameters combination that leads to the worst stability within the space of uncertain parameters. Finally, the proposed method is used to analyze the robust stability of a re-entry missile with uncertain parameters; the results verify the feasibility and accuracy of the method.
Network uncertainties such as data loss and time delay can vary the stability property of networked control system. Therefore, these uncertainties must be considered first in designing networked control system. In this paper, we present a new stability analysis method of networked control system with data loss and time delay. The proposed method can determine maximum allowable time delay and minimum allowable transmission rate that preserves stability performance of networked control system. The results of the simulation validate effectiveness of our stability analysis method.
