The concrete creep deformation of a hybrid composite section can cause additional deformation of the composite section and the stress relaxation of pre-compressive stress on the concrete section due to partial restraint of the deformation. In this study, the stress relaxation coefficient method (SRCM) is derived for simple analysis of complicate hybrid or composite sections for engineering purpose. Also, an equation of the stress relaxation coefficient (SRC) required for the SRCM is proposed. The SRCM is derived with the parameters of a creep coefficient, section and loading properties using the same method as the constant-creep step-by-step method (CC-SSM). The errors of the SRCM is improved by using the proposed SRC equation than the average SRC's which were estimated from the CC-SSM. The root mean square error (RMSE) of the SRCM with the proposed SRC equation for concrete with creep coefficient less than 3 was less than 1.2% to the creep deformation at the free condition and was 3.3% for the 99% reliability. The proposed SRC equation reflects the internal restraint of composite sections, and the effective modulus of elasticity computed with the proposed SRC can be used effectively to estimate the rigidity of a composite section in a numerical analysis which can be applied in analysis of the external restrain effect of boundary conditions.

This study focuses on mixing steel fiber in the concrete to improve the ductility and toughness of the columns. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the load capacity and deformation capacity associated with the amount of steel fiber and loading condition and to analyze the interplay between the steel fiber reinforced concrete and the welding built-up square tube in terms of structure and fire resistance performance. Reinforcement of concrete with steel fiber(Vf=0.375%), when cross-section shape and boundary condition (load ratio) remained unchanged, improved fire resistance performance by 1.1~1.3 times. It is deemed that the area resisting thermal load increased and fire resistance performance was improved since the concrete reinforced with steel fiber restrained cracking. In addition, the fact that the cross-sections of the concrete were barely damaged indicates that load share capacity was greatly improved.
Recently, In recognition of outstanding structural performance the use of Concrete Filled steel Tube(CFT) columns has been increased. Research is ongoing that effective use of cross-sectional because steel strength development and rising prices. In this Lab, suggests new shape by Thin steel plates bent to be L-channel welded to form square steel tube to maximize efficiency of the cross section. In addition, since the rib placed at the center of the tube width acts as an anchor; higher load capacity of buckling is acceptable. we have developed New shape welded built-up square tube for broader usability which were bent to be L-shaped and thin Plate each unit member were welded. In order to apply the new shape built-up square columns, we predicted structure behavior, stress distribution with parameter Width thickness ratio. The experimental results presented in standards and even exceed the b/t of the rib anchors installed in the role due to exert enough strength and deformation to improve performance was favorable.
In this paper, 18 square CFT columns filled with high-strength concrete were tested under concentric or eccentric axial loading. Two parameters of the experimental program included the buckling length-section depth ratio ($L_K$/D) and the eccentricity of the appled compressive load (e). In additon, mechanical properties such as the compressive concrete strength and compressive and tensile steel strength were measured and incorporated into the material models for the stress-strain relationships of concrete and steel. This model was used in an elasto-plastic analysis in order to predict the behavior of the slender CFT columns. Observtions of the failure mode during the tests under axial loadig were also presented. The strengths obtained from the analysis. Recommendations for Design, and Constructions of CFT structures were presented, as verified by the experimental results.
Thinned, small larch logs have small diameters and no value-added final use, except as wood chips, pallets, or fuel wood, which are products with very low economic value; however, their mechanical strength is suitable for structural applications. In this study, small larch logs were sawed, dried, and cut into square timbers (with a $90mm{\times}90mm$ cross section) that were laterally glued to form core panels used to manufacture cross-laminated timber (CLT) wall panels. The surface and back of these core panels were covered with 12-mm-thick structural plywood panels, used as cross bands to obtain three-ply CLT wall panels. This attachment procedure was conducted in two different ways: gluing and pressing (CGCLT) or gluing and nailing (NGCLT). The size of the as-manufactured CLT panels was $1,220mm{\times}2,440mm$, the same as that of the plywood panels. The final wall panels were tested under lateral shear force in accordance with KS F 2154. As the lateral load resistance test required $2,440mm{\times}2,440mm$ specimens, two CLT wall panels had to be attached in parallel. In addition, the final CLT panels had tongued and grooved edges to allow parallel joints between adjacent pieces. For comparison, conventional light-frame timber shear walls and midply wall systems were also tested under the same conditions. Shear walls with edge nail spacing of 150 mm and 100 mm, the midply wall system, and the fabricated CGCLT and NGCLT wall panels exhibited maximum lateral resistances of 6.1 kN/m (100%), 9.7 kN/m (158%), 16.9 kN/m (274%), 29.6 kN/m (482%), and 35.8 kN/m (582%), respectively.
The study provided a perspective on which readers can see Newton's proof heuristically in order to overcome the difficulty of proof showing 'QT2/QR converges to the latus rectum of ellipse' in the proof of the inverse square law of Newton's Principia. The heuristic perspective is as follows: The starting point of the proof is the belief that if we transform the denominators and numerators of QT2/QR into expression with respect to segments related to diameter and conjugate diameter, we may obtain some constant, the desired value, by their relationship PV × VG/QV2 = PC2/CD2 in Apollonius' Conic sections. The heuristic perspective proposed in this study is meaningful because it can help readers understand Newton's proof more easily by presenting the direction of transformation of QT2/QR.

This work reports on the effect of plasma area on the frequency characteristics of the monostatic radar cross section (RCS) of a square metallic plate. A dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma actuator consisting of 10 rings is proposed. The actuator is fabricated in three different configurations such that only three inner rings, seven inner rings, and all rings can be biased. By applying an 18-kV bias at 1 kHz, the three types of DBD actuators generate plasma with a total area of 16.96, 36.74, and $53.69cm^2$, respectively, in a ring or circular form. The experimental results reveal that when the DBD actuator is placed in front of a $20mm{\times}20cm$ conducting plate, the monostatic RCS is reduced by as much as 18.5 dB in the range of 9.41-11.65 GHz. Furthermore, by generating the plasma and changing the area, the frequency of maximum reduction in the monostatic RCS of the plate can be controlled. The frequency is reduced by nearly 20% in the X band when all rings are biased. Finally, an electromagnetic model of the plasma is obtained by comparing the experimental and full-wave simulated results.
Purpose : This epidemiological research was conducted to investigate the relationship between the groups of TMD and the behavioral, psychological, and physical symptoms through RDC/TMD. Subjects and Methods : The subjects of this research were the 286 patients who had visited Seoul National University Bundang Hospital; their common chief complaint was temporomandibular discomfort. The mean age of the patients was 32.9 from 11 to 85, and the number of men and women was 67 and 219, respectively. The patients were examined through clinical and radiological methods and diagnosed by 1 investigator. They were divided into 3 groups: myogenous group (group 1), arthrogenous group (group 2), and combined group (group 3). The behavioral, psychological, and physical symptoms were evaluated through questionnaires on RDC/TMD. Specific items were selected to calculate the graded chronic pain (characteristic pain intensity, disability points), jaw disability, depression, and non-specific physical symptoms (pain items included/excluded) in the questionnaire. One-way ANOVA, Kruskal-Wallis test, and chi-square test were applied as statistical methods. Results : As a result of classifying temporomandibular disorder in this study, the patients were distributed as follows: 9.1% of group 1, 79.7% of group 2, and 11.2% of group 3. In the analysis of graded chronic pain (characteristic pain intensity, disability points), jaw disability, and non-specific physical symptoms (pain items included/excluded), group 3 had the highest score, and the difference was significant (p<0.001). Moreover, the depression score of group 3 was significantly higher than groups 1 and 2 (p<0.05). Note that that the second order of jaw disability score was group 2, on the other hand, those of the other groups were group 1. Conclusion : Myofascial pain could be assumed to be related closely to the behavioral, psychological, and physical symptoms except jaw disability compared to joint pain through RDC/TMD.

The purpose of this study was to analyze entertainer Byeon Jeong-su's hair styles and thereby, apply the results to models. For the applications, models' hair styles were bisected into two sections, and thereby, the edges of the outsides were cut into solid points, and thereupon, into diverse bases by using vertical section, Perpendicular direction and square angles. On the other hand, the insides were cut in the same way of the outside bases by using radial section, varied combing and $45{\sim}90$ degree head angles. In addition, tops and sides were arranged in their corners, while a graduation technique was used to express a natural difference of levels. The fringes were cut by using free-hand and slicing techniques. furthermore, the quantity and mass of the hairs were treated with such techniques as thinning, swing, effect, rolling, slide and slicing, while a bridge product was used for coloring together with a highlight technique. The hair styles were rendered for straight and wave by using an magic iron machine. It was confirmed through this study that the same cutting techniques would result in different images depending on individuals' physical shapes, facial shapes, head skeletons and types of hairs. Thus, it is required of the hair designers to suggest their own custom hair designs adequate to individuals' images through continued image-wise hair design practices.
This study examined the characteristics of radio-frequency/vacuum dried Korean red pine ($Pinus$$densoflora$) heavy timbers with 250 ${\times}$ 250 mm (S), 300 ${\times}$ 300 mm (L) in cross section and 300 mm in diameter, and 3,600 mm in length, which were subjected to compressive loading after a kerf pretreatment. The following results were obtained : The drying time was short and the drying rate was high in spite of the large cross section of specimens. The moisture gradient inall specimens was gentle in both longitudinal and transverse directions owing to dielectric heating. The shrinkage of the width in the direction perpendicular to was 21 percent ~ 76 percent of that of the thickness of square timbers in the direction parallel to the mechanical pressure. The casehardening for all specimens was very slight because of significantly reduced ratio of the tangential to radial shrinkage of specimens and kerfing. The surface checks somewhat severely occurred although the occurrence extent of the surface checks on the kerfed specimens was slight compared withthat on the control specimen.
