This study was carried out to suggest the optimal spinning process condition which provides a proper range of tenacity and biodegradability as textile fibers. The effects of the melt spinning speed and heat treatment on the mechanical property and biodegradability of polylactic acid fiber were investigated. Polylactic acid(PLA) was spun in a high spinning speed of $2000{\sim}4000m/min$. Each specimen was heat-treated at $100^{\circ}C$ during 30min. Mechanical properties such as breaking stress and the degree of crystallinity were evaluated using WAXS. Biodegradability was estimated from the decrease of breaking stress, weight loss, and the degree of crystallinity after soil burial. Experimental results revealed that heat treated specimens showed higher breaking stress than untreated specimens, but the increase was not so high as was expected from the remarkable change of crystallinity by heat treatment. It was concluded that breaking stress was more influenced by spinning speed than heat treatment. In the soil burial test, however biodegradability calculated from weight loss was more influenced by heat treatment than spinning speed.
The dyeing property of direct-spinning type and seaisland type 0.2D micro polyester nonwoven fabrics was characterized by three disperse dyes (Dorosperse Red KFFB, Blue KGBR, Yellow KRL) at $120^{\circ}C$ and $130^{\circ}C$. Before and after reduction cleaning, dyeing fastness was evaluated and the thermomigaration after heat setting at $180^{\circ}C$ for 60 min were also evaluated. Direct-spinning type fabric showed better dyeing property, wash fastness, and light fastness, but worse rub fastness than seaisland type fabric. The dyeing property and fastness of direct-spinning type fabric increased at higher dyeing temperature, whereas seaisland type fabric exhibited lower dyeing fastness and the increase of thermomigration at higher dyeing temperature. Non-fixed dye in fiber surface was removed by reduction cleaning process, then dyeing fastness was improved and thermomigration decreased. The higher dye uptake of direct-spinning type non-woven fabric caused the increase of dye molecule migration from fiber internal to fiber surface, so this fabric showed larger thermomigration than seaisland type non-woven fabric.
The evolution of spinning technology was focused on improving productivity with good quality of yarns. More detail spinning technology according to mixing of various kinds of fibre materials on the air vortex spinning system is required for obtaining good quality yarns. This paper investigated the physical properties of air vortex yarns compared with ring and compact yarns using PTT/tencel/cotton fibres. It was observed that unevenness of air vortex yarns was higher than those of ring and compact yarns, which resulted in low tenacity and breaking strain of air vortex yarns. Initial modulus of air vortex yarns was higher than those of ring and compact yarns. Yarn imperfections of air vortex yarns such as thin, thick and nep were much more than those of ring and compact yarns. These poor yarn qualities of air vortex yarn were attributed to the fasciated yarn structure with parallel fibres in the core part of the air vortex yarn. However, yarn hairiness of air vortex yarns was less and shorter than those of ring and compact yarns. Thermal shrinkage of air vortex yarns were higher than that of ring yarns, which was caused by sensible thermal shrinkage of PTT fibres on the bulky yarn surface and core part of air vortex yarns.
The structure development and dynamic properties of fibers produced by high-speed spinning of P(EN-ET) random copolymers were investigated. The as-spun fibers were found to remain amorphous up to the spinning speed of 1500 m/min, and subsequent increases in speed resulted in the crystalline domains containing primarily $\alpha$ crystalline modification of PEN. The f modification was not found up to spinning speeds of 4500 m/min. On the other hand, annealing of constrained fibers spun at the 2100 m/min at 180,200, and 240^{\circ}C$ exhibited $\beta$-form crystalline structure, while the annealed fibers spun in 600-1500 m/min range exhibited dominantly $\alpha$-form. However $\beta$-form crystals disappeared above the spinning speed of 3000 m/min. With increasing spinning speeds from 600 to 4500 m/min, the storage modulus of as-spun fibers increased continuously and reached a value of about 10.4 spa at room temperature. The tan $\delta$curves showed the $\alpha$-relaxation peak at about 155-165^{\circ}C$, which is considered to correspond to the glass transition. The $\alpha$-relaxation peaks became smaller and broader, and shift to higher temperatures as the spinning speed increases, meaning that molecular mobility in the amorphous region is restricted by increased crystalline domain.
Rayon fiber as clothing material has silk-like property which relates to other synthetic fibers. It has many advantages that is required to women's clothes. However rayon has many shortcomings. Therefore this research is to spin rayon-like polyester which has high contraction property to be synthesized by previous research to solve those shortcomings and to maintain advantages of rayon. The contraction ratio of regular polyester is 30% and the contraction ratio of this synthesized polyester is over 60%. The spinning temperature of regular polyester ranges from $285^{\circ}C$ to $300^{\circ}C$. However, this copolymer is set range from $270^{\circ}C$ to $290^{\circ}C$, which is $10^{\circ}C$ less than regular polyester due to decreasing melting temperature. The spinning velocity effects the tensile strength and elongation of yarn magnificently. The high velocity of spinning makes yarn highly oriented, increases the tensile strength and decreases the elongation. This research defines the condition as following; draw ratio 2.734, First roller temperature $85^{\circ}C$, Slit heater temperature $175^{\circ}C$.
Heavy weight of the camouflage materials was always the main problem. To solve it, the low infrared emissivity fibers with the radar absorbing property (LIFR) were prepared. The low infrared emissivity fibers (LIF) were firstly melt-spun by co-extrusion of polypropylene (PP) and PP/various fillers master-batches using general conjugate spinning. The infrared emissivity of LW with AA and ZnO was decreased respectively compared with that of pure polypropylene fibers. The infrared emissivity of LIF with 15 wt% Al and 2 wt% ZnO in the sheath-part can reach 0.58. To improve LIF radar absorbing property, LIFR was prepared by filling the 50 wt% ferrite and bronze in the core-part of LIF. The radar absorbing efficacy of LIFR was good and the infrared emissivity was low. For the characterization, fiber electron intensity instrument and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) were used for the analysis of mechanical properties, thermal and crystallization behavior of the spun-fibers. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was carried out to observe the particle distribution of the bicomponent fibers.
In this study, a study and interpretation of the spinning process in copolymerized aramid spinning was conducted. In order to proceed with the spinning process modeling and analysis, the spinning process was modeled through the physical property modeling of the spinning solution and the structural modeling of the spinneret, and structural stability and flow of the spinneret for this spinning were analyzed. After modeling the spinning solution and the spinneret in a virtual space, the pack pressure and flow rate when the spinning solution was discharged were simulated. Macroscopically, the structural stability of the spinneret was confirmed at the standard pack pressure (100 kg·f/cm2), and microscopically, the flow rate and pressure drop data of the spinning solution according to the L/D(Length (L)/Diameter (D)) value were analyzed. Based on the research and development of virtual engineering modeling and analysis, we present the possibility of changing the shape and mechanical properties of copolymer aramid fibers according to the spinning process.
Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have exceptional mechanical, electrical, and thermal properties compared with those of commercialized high-performance fibers. For use in the form of fabrics that can maintain such properties, individual CNTs should be held together in fibers or made into yarns twisted out of the fibers. Typical methods that are used for such purposes include (a) surfactant-based coagulation spinning, which injects a polymeric binder between CNTs to form fibers; (b) liquid-crystalline spinning, which uses the nature of CNTs to form liquid crystals under certain conditions; (c) direct spinning, which can produce CNT fibers or yarns at the same time as synthesis by introducing a carbon source into a vertical furnace; and (d) forest spinning, which draws and twists CNTs grown vertically on a substrate. However, it is difficult for those CNT fibers to express the excellent properties of individual CNTs as they are. As solutions to this problem, post-treatment processes are under development for improving the production process of CNT fibers or enhancing their properties. This paper discusses the recent methods of fabricating CNT fibers and examines some post-treatment processes for property enhancement and their applications.

A high molecular weight polyhydroxyamide (PHA) solution in N, N-dimethyl acetamide (DMAc) was prepared from 3, 3'-dihydroxybenzidine and isophthalic chloride (IPC), which was used for spinning PHA fiber. Before spinning, the diffusion property of DMAc into various coagulants was examined. The fiber was well formed in coagulants such as water/ethanol with a composition of 5/5, ethanol, and ethanol/isopropanol with a composition of 7/3 and 5/5. However, the PHA fiber spun in the water/ethanol mixture contained voids. After the fiber spun in ethanol was annealed at over $350^{\circ}C$, the ultimate stress and initial modulus of the fiber increased from 75.5 MPa and 3.22 GPa to 369 MPa and 29.5 GPa, respectively. These properties of the PHA fiber spun by the dry spinning method were also enhanced, attaining 154 MPa and 5.56 Gpa, respectivel.
