Magnetic Properties of Spin Valve Ta Underlayer Depending on N2 Concentration and Annealing Temperature (스핀 밸브 Ta 하지층의 질소함유량 변화와 열처리 온도에 따른 자기적 특성)

  • In this research, magnetic properties and annealing effects of the spin valve structures were investigated, which have Ta underlayer deposited with Ar and $N_2$ gas mixture. Also, TaN underlayer as a diffusion barrier and the substrate were investigated. The structure of the spin valve was Si($SiO_2$)/Ta(TaN)/NiFe/CoFe/Cu/CoFe/FeMn/Ta. Deposition rate was decreased and resistivity and roughness of the TaN films were increased as the $N_2$ gas flow was increased. The XRD results after high temperature annealing showed that Silicides were created in Si/Ta layer, but not in Si/TaN layer. Magnetoresistance ratio (MR) and exchange coupling field ($H_{ex}$) were decreased when the $N_2$ gas flow was increased over 4.0 sccm. The MR of the spin valves with Ta and TaN films deposited with up to 4.0 sccm of $N_2$ gas flow was increased about $0.5\%$ until the annealing temperature of up to $200^{\circ}C$ and then, decreased. TaN film deposited with 8.0 sccm of $N_2$ gas flow showed twice the adhesion of the Ta film. The above results indicate that with 3.0 sccm of $N_2$ gas flow during the Ta underlayer deposition, the magnetic properties of the spin valves are maintained, while the underlayer may be used as a diffusion barrier and the adhesion between the Si substrate and the underlayer is increased.

  • The characteristics of two different modes of perfusion culture, intermittent and continuous bleedings, were investigated by culturing the hybridoma cells producing von Willebrand Factor (vWF) monoclonal antibody (McAb) in a 15 L bioreactor without clogging the filter. Both culture methods exhibited similar profiles of cell density and metabolite concentrations during the culture period at the cell concentration of around 1${\times}$107 cells/mL. When the perfusion rate was increased, the intermittrnt bleeding culture showed problems of ammonia accumulation and decrease of cell viability. The continuous bleeding culture in terms of nutrient consumption and metabolite production kinetics. But the analysis of specific oxygen consumption rate showed that the specific oxygen consumption rate of intermittent bleeding culture was similar to that of exponential growth phase. The continuous bleeding culture showed higher specific oxygen consumption rate of intermittent bleeding culture. finally we proved the possibility of long-term operation of continuous bleeding culture and produced approximately 40 g of vWF McAb in a 15L bioreactor after one-month operation.

An Empirical Study on the Relationship between the Capabilities and Sales Growth of Research-based Spin-off Companies (연구소기업의 역량과 매출성장 간의 관계에 관한 실증연구)

  • This study aims to analyze research-based spin-off companies, which are established in Innopolis to promote the commercialization of R&D outputs of public institutions. We analyzed 175 technology-based start-ups, which were founded before 2016, to examine how the companies' capabilities affect the sales growth rate. The results show that technological capability and entrepreneurial capability have positive relations with sales growth, while network capability and finance capability do not have significant associations. In addition, R&D intensity (R&D expenditure per employee) has moderating effects on the association between firm capabilities and sales growth rate since it strengthens the effect of technological capability and entrepreneurial capability but weakens the influence of network capability. This study contributes to widening the understanding of the importance of capabilities of research-based spin-off companies and their performance, and differs from most previous literature since it uses objective and quantitative data. It further suggests policy implications that the enhancement of technological and entrepreneurial capability are important for the stable growth of technology-based startups in the early stage.

A Study on Combustion Characteristics of Synthetic Gas Air Lifted Premixed Flames with High Strain Rate in an Impinging Jet Combustion Field (합성가스의 충돌제트 연소장에서 고신장율 부상 예혼합화염 연소 특성 연구)

  • This paper presents both experimental and numerical investigation of the combustion characteristics of stretched premixed lift-off flames using synthetic gas($H_2$/CO) in an impinging burner. We used "Spin code" for numerical analysis. An ICCD camera was employed to measure flame location and flame thickness. The impinging surface temperature was affected by local strain rate K, equivalence ratio, and composition ratio of fuel. In spite of the difference of boundary conditions in experimental and numerical results, the tendencies of surface temperatures were agreed. From result of this work, we also found that flame location and flame thickness directly related to surface temperature are greatly affected by local strain rate K.

Spinning of Petroleum based Isotropic Pitch by Melt-blown Method

  • Petroleum based isotropic pitch was spun into short fiber by melt-blown spinning technology. The processing parameters chosen were air velocity, die temperature, and throughput rate of the pitch within the ranges of experimental tolerances. The fiber diameter was reduced to $6{\mu}m$ by increases of hot air velocity, and spin die temperature. Also, the fiber diameter was strongly dependent on the throughput rate of the pitch and jet speed of hot air through the spinnerets. Even fibers with $10{\mu}m$ diameter were produced at throughput rate of $0.17g/min{\cdot}hole$ and at die temperature of $290^{\circ}C$.

Fabrication and Drive Test of a Peristaltic Thermopnumatic PDMS Micropump

  • This paper presents fabrication and drive test of a peristaltic PDMS micropump actuated by the thermopneumatic force. The micropump consists of the three peristaltic-type actuator chambers with microheaters on the glass substrate and a microchannel connecting the chambers and the inlet/outlet port. The micropump is fabricated by the spin-coating process, the two-step curing process, the JSR (negative PR) molding process, and etc. The diameter and the thickness of the actuator diaphragm are 2.5 mm and $30{\mu}m$, respectively. The meniscus motion in the capillary tube is observed with a video camera and the flow rate of the micro pump is calculated through the frame analysis of the recorded video data. The maximum flow rate of the micropump is about $0.36\;{\mu}L/sec$ at 2 Hz for the zero hydraulic pressure difference when the 3-phase input voltage is 20 V.

A Preparation of Copper Phthalocyanine Photoreceptor by an Aqueous Coating Method and Study of Dark Decay and Photoinjection Efficiency (신규 제작법을 이용한 Copper Phthalocyanine 전자사진 감광체의 개발과 Dark Decay와 Photoinjection Efficiency에 관한 연구)

  • A cause and counterplan of the increase in dark decay rate of$\varepsilon$-CuPc/PVCz photoreceptor which is consist of the carrier generation layer (CGL) of$\varepsilon$type copper phthalocyanine ($\varepsilon$-CuPc) thin film by an aqueous coating method and the carrier transport layer (CTL) of polyvinylcarbazol (PVCz) by spin coating, are studied in this paper. Electrochemical deposition of CGL was accompanied by an increase in work function of the aluminium substrate during the processes and the enhanced work function 5.3 eV rose above the ionization potential 5.16 eV of $\varepsilon$-CuPc. This resulted in the increased injection of holes from substrate into CGL and a fast dark decay rate. Improved photoreceptor, an electron-transport $\varepsilon$-CuPc/TNF photoreceptor, led to lowing of dark decay rate and increasing of photosensitivity. The carrier generation efficiency (ηg), carrier injection efficiency (ηi) and xerographic gain (G) of the $\varepsilon$-CuPc/TNF photoreceptor were obtained by XTOF method and PIDC.

Fabrications and Properties of VF2-TrFE Films for Nonvolatile Memory Application (비휘발성 메모리 응용을 위한 VF2-TrFE 박막의 제작 및 특성)

  • In this study, Ferroelectric vinylidene fluoride-trifluoroethylene (VF2-TrFE) copolymer films were directly deposited on degenerated Si (n+, $0.002\;{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$) using by spin coating method. A 1~5 wt% diluted solution of purified vinylidene fluoride-trifluoroethylene (VF2:TrFE = 70:30) in a dimethylformamide (DMF) solvent were prepared and deposited on silicon wafers at a spin rate of 2000 ~ 4000 rpm for 2 ~ 30 seconds. After annealing in a vacuum ambient at 100 ~ $200^{\circ}C$ for 60 min, upper aluminum electrodes were deposited by vacuum evaporation for electrical measurement. X-ray diffraction results showed that the VF2-TrFE films on Si substrates had $\beta$-phase of copolymer structures. The capacitance on highly doped Si wafer showed hysteresis behavior like a butterfly shape and this result indicates clearly that the copolymer films have ferroelectric properties. The typical measured remnant polarization ($P_r$) and coercive filed ($E_c$) values were about $5.7\;{\mu}C/cm^2$ and 710 kV/em, respectively, in an applied electric field of ${\pm}$ 1.5 MV/em. The gate leakage current densities measured at room temperature was less than $7{\times}10^{-7}\; A/cm^2$ under a field of 1 MV/cm.

Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Study of 23Na in NaMgCl3 Single Crystal (NaMgCl3 단결정 내의 23Na 원자핵에 대한 핵 자기 공명 연구)

  • We have investigated nuclear magnetic resonance of $^{23}Na$ nucleus in $NaMgCl_3$ single crystal in the temperature range 200 K~410 K using FT-NMR spectrometer. The spin-lattice relaxation times $T_1$ of $^{23}Na$ nucleus residing at cubic symmetry in the host crystal was measured as a function of temperature. The $T_1$ of $^{23}Na$ nucleus decreased with increasing temperature. The nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rate $1/T_1$ of $^{23}Na$ in $NaMgCl_3$ single crystal was proportional to the temperature T. This behavior is explained with the characteristic feature of the direct process between the nuclear spins and single phonon, $1/T_1$ being proportional to the absolute temperature. The activation energy calculated was $E_a=4.82J/mol$.

Study of Inorganic CsPbI2Br Perovskite Solar Cell Using Hot-air Process (Hot-air 공정을 이용한 무기 CsPbl2Br 페로브스카이트 태양전진 제작 연구)

  • We prepared a CsPbI2Br solution using Cesium iodide (CsI), Lead (II) bromide (PbBr2) and Lead (II) iodide (PbI2) materials into a polar solvent mixture of N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) and Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO). A simple spin coating technique was used for the fabrication of CsPbI2Br absorber layer in the solution process. In order to prepare uniform coating of absorber film we adopted a hot-air process in assocation with the spin coating. It was confirmed that the thin film manufactured by the hot-air process had a higher absorption rate than that without it, and the optical band gap was measured 1.93 eV. The thin film of absorber was uniformly prepared and revealed the Black α-Cubic crystal phase as proved through X-ray diffraction analysis. Finally, a perovskite solar cell having an n-i-p structure was manufactured with a CsPbI2Br perovskite absorption layer. From the solar cell, we obtained a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 5.97% in a forward measurement.
