  • The purpose of this study is to establish a clear-cut concept and meaning of soundscape design through an inquiry into the various literatures on the ideologies, features and domains of soundscape design. Soundscape enables us to design various relationship through a sound in that it is important for interaction, namely the relations with sound, environment and people in a region. Soundscape design is an endogenous design which is participated in a large number of people of the region, and it contains various activities such as research study, environmental preservation, creation of sound environment and sound education.

  • The total evaluation of educational environment is needed with the rapid growth of the number of students. Especially it is very important to evaluate the physical environment of the classroom in elementary schools where the students spend their whole school life. This study aims to evaluate the daylighting and sound insulation performance of the classroom in elementary school, considering factors such as ceiling height and Wi/Wa (Window/Wall) ratio and then to plan the classroom. Analytic results of the daylighting and sound insulation performance show that the optimum Wi/Wa ratio is $35{\sim}45%$. Reduction of the ceiling height from 3.3m has little influence on the distribution of the indoor daylight factor and sound insulation performance

  • In this study, we conducted the classification experiments with GMM (Gaussian Mixture Model) from combining the extracted features by using microphone, Gyro sensor and Acceleration sensor in 9 different environment types. Existing studies of Context Aware wanted to recognize the Environment situation mainly using the Environment sound data with microphone, but there was limitation of reflecting recognition owing to structural characteristics of Environment sound which are composed of various noises combination. Hence we proposed the additional application methods which added Gyro sensor and Acceleration sensor data in order to reflect recognition agent's movement feature. According to the experimental results, the method combining Acceleration sensor data with the data of existing Environment sound feature improves the recognition performance by more than 5%, when compared with existing methods of getting only Environment sound feature data from the Microphone.

  • In this paper, P2P VLC Sound Transmission Technology between Underwater Object of 5cm Distance. It proposed a P2P VLC sound transmission technology, and developed a P2P VLC sound transmission technology between LED transmitter and PD(Photo Detector) receiver of 15cm distance. Under the assumption that the underwater environment, it performs a P2P VLC sound transmission experiment between LED transmitter and PD receiver for sound transmission, and demonstrated the usefulness of the proposed technology. In this paper, P2P VLC Sound Transmission Technology between Underwater Object of 5cm Distance, and proposed technology is expected to be widely used in various fields because it can use P2P VLC sound transmission technology between underwater object in the underwater environment.

  • As it became possible to generate 3D sound on a PC environment due to the advances in computing performance and digital signal processing technology, 3D sound technology gains its focus in the multimedia area Specifically a two-channel based 3D sound technology is being studied by many researchers because of its space efficiency and economical structure. While the positional sound effect is simple in its implementation, the moving sound effect has many problems to be resolved as there are only discrete measured point of HRTF database. In this paper, we propose the method of generating smooth moving sound in a two-channel based 3D sound technique with respect to generating smooth trajectory, and the interpolation method of discrete measured HRTF data. We perform the tests in the PC environment and prove the utility of the proposed method.

  • The sound insulation performance is one of the important factor that determined the amenity of housing life in residential building. Especially, Apartment house represents a korea habitation. So the importance of privacy and noise problems between habitable rooms are emphasized in these habitation. This study investigates and find a problem of sound insulation performance of partition wall of the apartment house in current state. The measurements were carried out in apartment house with and without a stair hall. And the measurements also carried out in current state and installing a sound absorbing material in receiving room and changing a front door and installing a inner door. In spite of the same partition wall, difference results were showed according to the stair hall. It is appeared that sound insulation performance without stair hall is 6-7dB(Dw) higher than that with stair hall. In case of without stair hall, sound insulation performance is Dw 49 for single number quantity for airbone sound. And In case of changing a front door and installing a inner door sound insulation performance is Dw 57 for single number quantity for airbone sound. The Results of measuring on the changes a front door and installed a inner door indicated that the flanking sound through front door influenced the sound insulation performance.

  • Recently the impact sound insulation performance is regarded as one of the most import factors in determining the quality of housing environment. In order to reduce the impact sound level transmitted through the floors and structures, establishing the standard level of impact sound insulation performance is needed. In this consideration, The effecting facts for the standard insulation level is reviewed.

  • In the actual sound environment, the random signal often shows a complex fluctuation pattern apart from a standard Gaussian distribution. In this study, an evaluation method for the sound environmnetal system is proposed in the generalized form applicable to the actual stochastic phenomena, by introducing two type information processing methods based on the regression model of expansion series type and the Fuzzy probability. The effectiveness of the proposed method are confirmed experimentally too by applying it to the observed data in the actual noise environment.

  • The rapid exchanges of mobile computing environment and development of wireless communication are providing many effects for learning activity of students. Recently, PDA system developers which are studying memory capacity, communication speed and size of screen support techniques to be capable of learning from students in the wireless or moving environment. In this viewpoints, this paper has a purpose to design multimedia learning system to be able to do with sound lecture contents. The implemented system largely consists of two parts which have the teacher module and students module. The one manages learning progress of students, class management, bulletin board and etc. The other is capable of using studying and bulletin functions. The main idea of this research is focus to upgrade the effect of learning without almost treating the existing studies, which can be listening sound lecture and also seeing text and image at the same time.
