  • Recently, universities have been strengthening software basic education to be active in the era of the fourth industrial revolution. Non-majored students need a variety of teaching methods because they have low knowledge of programming or a lack of connectivity with major courses. Therefore, in this paper, a learning model applying the step-by-step blind programming practice based on the Demonstration Modeling Making model was designed and applied to the actual lecture. As a result of analyzing the problem solving ability of the learner, it was confirmed that the learner's self - solving ratio increased as parking progressed. In the following study, it is necessary to analyze the learner's learning results in various aspects and to study effective teaching methods according to the difficulty of the learning contents.

  • There is increasing attention about radiology teaching files on the Internet in the field of diagnostic radiology. The purpose of this study was to aid in the creation of new radiology teaching file by analysing the present radiology teaching file sites on the Internet with many aspects and evaluating images on those sites, using Macintosh IIci computer, 28.8kbps TelePort Fax/Modem, Netscape Navigator 2.0 software The results were as follow : 1. Analysis of radiology teaching file sites (l) Country distribution was the highest in USA(57.5%). (2) Average number of cases was 186 cases and radiology teaching file sites with search engine were 9 sites (22.5%). (3) At the method of case arrangement, anatomic area type and diagnosis type were found at the 10 sites(25%) each, question & answer type was found at the 9 sites(22.5%). (4) Radiology teaching file sites with oro-maxillofacial disorder were 9 sites(22.5%). (5) At the image format, GIF format was found at the 14 sites(35%). and ]pEG format found at the 14 sites(35%). • This study is to apply the Havruta teaching-learning method to college students' major classes and analyze the relationship between the effectiveness evaluation of communication skills and sub-factors using a structural equation model. As a result of the study, the communication ability score was different before and after Havruta teaching-learning, and it was found that after Havruta teaching-learning was higher than before Havruta teaching-learning. The path effect was found to be significant in all of the total, direct, and indirect effects among latent variables, except for the relationship between interpretation ability, role-playing ability, and goal-setting ability in the direct effect. In this study, it was found that the Havruta teaching-learning method not only improves creativity and thinking ability, but also improves self-directed learning ability. In addition, it was reconfirmed that it is a teaching-learning method that can develop social skills and communication skills as well as problem-solving skills while experiencing opinions different from one's own. As a result, research on a thorough student-centered teaching-learning method suitable for the Homo Machina era must be continued and its application in the educational field must be implemented.

  • We need problem solving abilities based on the information abilities in information-oriented society. New curriculum is demanded by new technology and circumstance to need the core competencies. Korea Association of Information Education has studied new curriculum and suggested new plans that contents of information education classified by 'Software', 'Computer System' and 'Convergence Activities.' Therefore, we studied on 'Problem Solving' topic of the 'Software' section of first grade to ninth grade. In this paper we firstly categorized 'Problem Solving' as 'Problem Comprehension and Analysis', 'Data Management', 'Strategy Establishment for Problem Solving', 'Problem Solving Method Seeking and Development' and 'Examination of Problem Solving Method.' We nextly suggested the achievement goals, teaching-learning methods and evaluation methods of 'Problem Solving' topic. We expect that the achievement goals and teaching-learning methods we suggested about 'Problem Solving' topic will contribute to training talented individuals.

  • In this study, we analyzed the differences of SW education teaching efficacy(SE-TE) according to variables such as gender, region, training experience, and attitude toward SW education. As a result, there was no difference according to the region, but there was statistically significant difference in the other variables. The correlation analysis and the regression analysis showed that the training experience and the attitude toward the SW education had the most correlation and explanatory power to the SE-TE. These results suggest that the training should be designed in order to enhance the teachers' SE-TE, to increase the opportunities of training, to provide continuous training, to operate the training hours efficiently, and to improve the teachers' personal SW education teaching efficacy.

  • In an effort to provide information about the effect of Microcomputer-Based Laboratory (MBL) use in science teaching and learning on student achievement and attitudes, a review of research analyzed studies was done between 1981 and 2001, using a meta-analysis procedure. Thirty-seven published and unpublished studies were reviewed. Use of MBL was shown to be potentially effective in the following condition of class; two students, physics teaching, more than one topic, or at the college level. Appropriate research design strategies, financial support (including hardware and software), and the use of more than one instrument for assessing the effect of the MBL instruction are crucial factors for more informative research studies. While helpful in many respects, the prior research revealed a number of problems related to the use of MBL in school science teaching and learning. The prior research does not support the desired intention described in the theory-based outcomes and reveals so little about how teachers and students use MBL, how it influences their teaching and learning, and how effectively it fits into the existing science curriculum. In order to know if the integration of MBL in the existing school science is worth it or not, more careful research design and comprehensive research should be done.

  • Statistics is based on a data, therefore a practical use of suitable data is important in teaching statistics. But, most teachers feel always that there is seldom data that students can understand easily. In this study, we presented a teaching method of statistics education that can elevate student's participation and interest in their statistics class using a web-based data collection program and MS Excel software. Also, the presented teaching method may apply extending to various part of statistics education.

  • This paper presents direction for efficient software education. Due to the impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the whole world is interested in software education. However, simply teaching how to code is not software education. The thinking abilities used in coding for software implementation are even more important. Therefore, computational thinking is getting great attention. Several institutions suggest factors for computational thinking and encourage to teach in a relevant way based on the suggestion. In this study, the verification of the factors they suggested was conducted through a questionnaire. The total of 419 freshman students of the College of Social Sciences who were taking "Computational Thinking and Software Coding" class participated in the survey at the beginning and the end of the semester. We first analyzed Wing's proposal that summarized the concept of computational thinking, and reviewed the proposal of ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) for defining computational thinking factors for coding education, also checked on the suggestion of Google for factors necessary for software coding. As a result of research analysis, this paper suggests a direction for efficient software education.

  • The increasing use of computers in mathematics and in mathematics education is strongly reflected in the teaching on Euclid geometry, in particular in the use of dynamic graphics software. This development has raised questions about the role of analytic proof in school geometry. One can sometimes find a proof which is rather more explanatory than the one commonly used. Because we, math educators are concerned with tile explanatory power of the proofs, as opposed to mere verification, we should devise ways to use dynamic software in the use of explanatory proofs.

  • This study derived optimized teaching aids that use the physical computing method as the solution for effective software education at the elementary level. We set standard for selecting physical computing teaching aids in elementary-level by gathering the opinions from previous studies and think tanks and then applied the standard to some aids and choose one. We also made lesson plan and tried it to the experimental group. Subsequently, students' logical thinking skills showed a statistically significant improvement in terms of the t-test. Also, in the analysis of the effect size, it was shown to have a positive influence on the improvement of the students' logical thinking skills. Additionally, survey of satisfaction evaluation from the students showed that the teaching aid selection standard was effective in selecting suitable teaching aids for elementary students and that the classroom activities utilizing physical computing teaching aids were at a suitable level for elementary students.
