  • Lately, the importance of robot education is rising in elementary schools, because of STAEM education. In this study, robot and convergence activity curriculum in software education was developed to robot education for elementary school. We suggested robot education framework based on the Rainbow system, which is repeatable and progressive. The framework is divided into 7 steps, 14 criteria. So, their students can be promoted to the higher level when they complete the lower level, regardless of their grade. It is necessary for robot education in elementary schools to develop the contents and programs according to suggested curriculum.

  • In order to provide basic data necessary for developing a curriculum to enhance SW education for elementary school teacher students, a questionnaire survey was conducted on 1,260 students at G National University of Education. The results are summarized as follows. First, it is necessary to improve class time of SW education for the college students and revise the SW curriculum to improve SW education capacity for teacher students. Second, in the liberal arts course, it is necessary to develop the teaching and learning materials and the textbooks using various software. Third, in the major course, the Subject Pedagogy programs should be expanded rather than the subject content programs. Fourth, in the specialization course, the programming language education focusing on the Entry and EPL should be strengthened so that it can be linked with the elementary school curriculum. In addition, it is necessary to expand the choice of subjects for the students by reducing the number of required courses and increasing the number of elective courses.

  • Research on software education and linking and convergence of other subjects has been mainly focused on mathematics and science subjects. The dissatisfaction of various preferences and types of learning personality cause to learning gap. In addition, it is not desirable considering the solution of various fusion problems that can apply the computational thinking. In this way, it is possible to embrace the diverse tendencies and preferences of students through the linkage with the English subject, which is a linguistic approach that deviates from the existing mathematical and scientific approach. By combining similarities in the process of learning a new language of English education and software education. For this purpose, based on the analysis of teaching - learning model of elementary English subject and software education, we developed a class model by modifying existing English subject and software teaching - learning model to be suitable for linkage. Then, the learning elements applicable to software education were extracted from the contents of elementary school English curriculum, and a program applied to the developed classroom model was designed and the practical application method of learning was searched.

  • With the introduction of the 2015 revised curriculum, software education became mandatory in elementary school. The practical subject in the content for the software education consists of information ethics, algorithms, programming, and computer science. Especially, elementary school encourages the unplugged activities. Unplugged activities are preferred among the teachers in the education field as a teaching-learning method. However, those teachers pointed out that the lack of suitable unplugged activity materials was the biggest challenge. In addition, it was pointed out that the existing materials were not suitable for achievement standards, and there are many simple playing-oriented educations that are not linked to computing activities. In this study, we developed an unplugged activity-oriented robot that can be used for the elementary students to learn the basic control structure suggested in the achievement criteria SW education and to develop creative problem solving ability through various activities using sensors. The effectiveness was verified through the software class using the developed robot in this study.

  • This study analyzed the effect of AI maker coding education on improving students' computational thinking. The subjects of the study were 10 students at H Elementary School in Ansan, and a total of 8 AI maker coding education using the Instructional Model for Maker Education based on SW Coding was applied to students to find out the degree of improvement of computational thinking. Students who participated in the class performed a process of solving real-life problems through coding and making activities, measured the degree of improvement in computing thinking before and after education through a computing thinking test paper, and observed students' thinking processes related to computing thinking components through interviews. As a result, it was confirmed that the average score of all students' computational thinking skills was improved, and the deviation of scores between students decreased. Through the interview, it was found that students actively utilize their thinking skills related to computational thinking skills in the problem-solving process. Through this, it was confirmed that AI maker coding education can have a positive effect on improving students' computing thinking skills.

  • Software education will be implemented in elementary, middle and high schools from the 2018 school year. One of the core contents of software education is algorithm education. As with other subjects, algorithmic education can also be seen as the success of students' initiative. And students' initiative learning can lead to increasing students' interest and commitment. In this paper, I propose the concept of software battle by applying sports games to algorithm education. The software battle defined that the programmed objects play to solve a given problem without human intervention in the virtual world. This can be applied to various topics. In this paper, I tried to apply it to sorting numbers which is a representative subject of algorithm education. The results of applying the algorithm education to the software battles showed a positive response, although the students felt the unfamiliar side. This indicates that the software battle can be used as one of the various education methods.

  • Maker movement is emerging as one of the key areas of the fourth industrial revolution in recent years. The maker movement is to create and share what users need using a variety of inexpensive production tools such as open source software and hardware, 3D printers and laser cutters. We think that the effect would be enhanced if design thinking is applied to elementary and middle school (K-12) class. The purpose of this study is to develop a design thinking-based maker education program and to apply it to classroom for clarify the effect on the creative problem solving ability of elementary school students. In order to verify the purpose of the research, students in the 5th-6th grades of elementary school were divided into a controlled group and an experimental group. The general lecture maker class was applied in the controlled group, and our developed design thinking-based maker class was simultaneously applied in the experimental group. The creative problem solving ability test was conducted before and after the test, and its effectiveness was verified using statistical t-test. In conclusion, this study suggests that design thinking-based maker education program has a positive effect on elementary school students' creative problem solving ability.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to develop programs that help students adjust to school and provide basic data for the students who have difficulty adjusting to school by analyzing the influence of elementary school students' stress and their relationship with parents on school adjustment. Methods: The study surveyed fourth graders in 3 elementary schools in G district. The researcher used convenience sampling to select the 3 elementary schools. The combined 158 students were selected for the analysis, and the survey was conducted for a month in September 2011. The stress monitoring tool used in the 5th year of Korean Youth Panel Survey was mobilized to measure levels of stress among the participants. To measure the parent-child relationship, the Korean Parent-Child Relationships Scale was used. For the measurement of school adjustment, a tool designed to identify the school adjustment of elementary school students was used. The SPSS 21 software and a two-sided test under the significance level of ${\alpha}=0.05$ were used to analyze data. The regression analysis was also used to identify the relative influence of the stress and parent-child relationship on children's adjustment to school. Results: The regression analysis has found the following: the higher peer stress (B=-0.175) and parental strictness (B=-0.159) grow, the lower the level of school adjustment gets; the higher the level of intimacy between parent and child gets, the higher the level of school adjustment grows; and intimacy between parent and child (${\beta}=0.400$) has the largest influence on the child's school adjustment. Conclusions: For elementary school students to be well adjusted to school, their stress and relationships with their parents should be managed. In particular, using the programs that can reduce stress from peers and increase parent-child intimacy will be effective in helping students adjust to school.

  • There is a hot debate about what the core competencies of future generations, who have to live an uncertain future, should cultivate. The future society is expected to become a Software-oriented Society driven by software. Under these circumstances, interest in software education is exploding around the world, and interest in cultivating computational thinking through software education is also increasing. Also, discussions about what computational thinking is and what competence factors are made up are in progress. However, the research on the relationship between the competence factors of computational thinking is relatively insufficient. In order to solve this problem, this study proceeded as follows. First, five competence factors of computational thinking were selected. Second, we defined a path model to analyze the relationships among the competence factors of computational thinking. Third, we chose a test tool to test computational thinking. Fourth, the computational thinking tests were conducted for 801 students in grades 3 through 6 of elementary school. Fifth, implications were derived by analyzing various viewpoints based on the results of the computational thinking test.
