  • The goal of this paper is to analyze the Freedom Center Apacle in Seoul designed by Kin Soo Geun who was a leading architect in Korean Modern architecture. Freedom Center was built in 1963, that was the largest monumental building to support military regime during cold war period in Korea. This paper deals with historical background of construction of Freedom Center and its characteristics compared to similar monumental buildings, especially Corbusier's Chandigar and Kenzo Tange's Hiroshima Peace Center. The Monumentality in Freedom Center came from the reference to these two buildings and its site plan. This paper tried to show how similar the layout of buildings between the Freedom Center and Peace Center. The origin of the sublime aura in Tange's linear layout of Peace Center is from Japanese Famous Shrine(Jinku). Kim translated it to serve the ideological purpose to protect from socialist regime in the name of freedom. Its over-scaled roof and weak contents showed Freedom center was a kind of theaterical setting belong to formalist building. But in spite of its symbolic and representational gesture its also had a architectonic physical quality to make it a monument. The change and duration in time testified the autonomous power of architecture in Freedom Center. Freedom Center was also important for using the exposed concrete and its superior finish. It was influenced not from western way of Benton Brut which was usually called New Brutalism but Japanese way of treating expose concrete. In spite of its limits Freedom center achieved new trend and sensibility in Korean Modern Architecture.

  • In every country, land has always been considered a particularly important resource and property. For Vietnam, a populous country with a relatively narrow cultivated land, the land is even more valuable because property is scarce in the process of building and developing the nation. Therefore, land administration is highly valued by the Vietnamese government and is a big priority. The study of land law and land policy in Vietnam from 1945 to present is a comprehensive view of the changes in land administration policy in Vietnam in each historical period. The study also provides the experiences and lessons learned in the field of land law and land administration in a country that has risen from the ashes of war, has accomplished reunification and has transformed from a centrally-planned economy, a feature of the communist economy, to a socialist-oriented market economy.

  • For the Unification of Koreas in the future, we need to understand the geography education system of North Korea. This paper deals with the middle-school geography textbooks of North Korea, published in 2000 and as well as in 1990, in order to look for a better way of geography education after the Unification. One geography textbook is used for each grade, respectively, from the first to the fifth grade of the North Korea's middle-school (table 1). The North Korea's geography textbooks are immersed in the unreasonable idolization of the Kim's family and the excessive devotion to the socialist system. But they may suggest a significant implication in the improvement of geography terminology in South Korea because of their common use of genuine Korean words.

In the process, the problem of poverty is surfacing along with the commercialization of housing. In this study, we've analyzed China's social security system through literature at home and abroad based on the concept of place poverty, and have pointed out the characteristics and problems of Chinese urban housing reform centered around what we've identified. Furthermore, we've divided up China into 8 zones, and have examine the characteristic of each area by population & social index, economic index, and housing index. As a result of analysis, the process of urban housing reform had an effect on housing poverty, and appeared to have different characteristics by zone. In this study, since China's situation by area is very diverse, it presents a point that we must approach with not a monistic method but a pluralistic method regarding housing policy.

  • There have been frequent reorganizations of administrative areas and place-names in China since 1949. These reorganizations were practiced with the two institutions 'city control over surrounding counties(shiguanxianzhi)' and 'county transform to city(shigaixian)' based on the socialist commodity supply system(gongxiaozhidu) and civil registration system(hukouzhidu). In this article I will try to discuss the influence and meaning of these reorganizations on the minority nationalities districts in frontier China. The Conclusions are as follows: The increase of the number of cities and the reorganization of the place-names in the minority nationalities districts is not the result of the increase of population or advancement of industrial structure but the result of Han people having non agriculture registration(feinongyehukou) population's increase. Therefore the reorganizations of administrative areas and place-names was a process of inclusion of the minority nationalities areas as a part of the Chinese territory(guotu) more perfective than before.

  • Chinese society, which maintained the feudal social system, has taken an isolationist policy in response to the Western aggression since $20^{th}$ century. However, in the wake of the Opium War of 1840, China had actively accepted Western culture, not in just politics and economy, but in diverse area of social property. Since these process, the modernization of China had begun and the Chinese museum has been erected and evolved through the process of it. And it can be deducted that the philosophy of socialist society had a considerable influence on the spatial configuration of the Chinese museum since it was at the heart of china's modernization. And another social shift has been made since 2000 that is regarded as the internationalization of China. It brought a new point of de-structuralism to the society since 2000 and it is leading the changes of various areas of culture and arts, including museology in Chinese society. The purpose of this study is to understand what changes have been made to the museums in China since 2000 and how the internationalization of China is engaged with this it, in terms of the spatial structure of a museum. To do this the study examined the spatial changes of the museum in the mathematical approach including Space Syntax tool and it was engaged with the changes of museum type. Throughout the study, it was concluded that spatial structure of museums in china has been changed from structural organization to de-structural one since 2000 of China's internationalization.
