  • It has been known that it shows the negative correlation between social comparison and happiness. Nevertheless, the correlation depends on self-concept and motivation of comparison which a person take. Current study examined the effect of cultural self-concept (interdependent self, subjective-objective self) on social comparison and happiness (subjective well-being and psychological well-being), Total 2000 among 30-69 years old respondents participated in this survey. We found that, first, people with high interdependent self feel less happiness as they take more social comparison, but the people with low interdependent self do not show the relational pattern. Second, people with objective self show the negative correlation with happiness and social comparison, but there is no correlation with happiness and social comparison among people with subjective self. The implication for study were discussed.

Clothing satisfaction which included 3 aspects was measured by the questionnaires developed for this study. The questionnaire was administered to 464 high school students in Seoul, and the data were aiialyzed by frequency, 1-test, one-way·ANOVA and SNK test, Pearson's product moment correlation and factor analysis. The results of this study were as follows: 1) High-school girls 'body' cathexis showed low levels of mean and distribution, wheareas school achievement and social self-esteem showed high levels of those.2) There werf significant positive correlation between clothing satisfaction and all of the self concept variables. In addition, positive correlation were found among the three self concept variables. 3) Three clothing satisfaction factors were emerged and named as clothing possession, clothing selection ability and parent's clothing restriction. Clothing posses- sion and parent's clothing restriction were generally satisfied. 4) School achievement was the most influencial variable for the level of serial self-esteem. It was thought that body dissatisfac-tion would be relieved by the high clothing satisfaction.

  • The previous researches about knowledge sharing were proceeded in terms of KMS (Knowledge Management System) in center. However, knowledge sharing is recently applied to Internet space, which is open to every users, as well as KMS, which is qualified for restricted people. For example, some portal sites, such as Naver, the most popular portal in Korea, have virtual spaces to share users' knowledges and it is common that many users use the spaces. Knowledge sharing online, compared with KMS, will be more advanced to promote intention for knowledge sharing because of the character of Internet space that is open to all users. Nevertheless, there are few researches about knowledge sharing in the Internet. Considering this situation, this study is attempted to figure out the factors to promote Internet knowledge sharing, based on social capital theory and self-expression concept. A survey of experienced Internet user and PLS (Partial Least Square) were utilized for analysis. The test of this study reveals that social capital and self-expression are significant factors to influence knowledge sharing intention, and that also personal innovation and self-efficacy are significantly related to the self-expression. However, personal innovation does not have significant impact on social capital. According to the result, self-expression, as well as trust and system itself, has significantly effect on knowledge sharing intention in order to promote knowledge sharing in the Internet.

  • The achievement motivations of science gifted students are very important in becoming experts who achieve high level. In this study, 77 8th graders of Science Gifted Education Center were divided into highly motivated and low motivated groups. Multidimensional Perfectionism, Self-Concept, Parenting Behaviors Scale were compared between these 2 groups, and predicting variables were verified through regression analysis. As a result, highly motivated students received higher scores on Perfectionism, self-directed Perfectionism, and other-directed Perfectionism. Self-concept scores were higher on factors of body, moral, personalities, social, and abilities as well. In Parenting Behaviors Scale, only the father's affection factor was influenced. The result of regression analysis revealed that self-directed Perfectionism, social self-concept, and moral self-concept had meaningful predictions. In parameter verification, partially mediated effect of self-directed Perfectionism and social self-concept was verified in the relationship between father's affection factor and achievement motivation. This study confirmed that self-directed Perfectionism of science gifted students has positive effects on adaptation. The importance of social and moral education and the father's affection were found as well.

Collected data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA. Pearson's correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression. Result: Middle- aged women's depression was found to be in a negative correlation at a statistically significant level with self-concept (r=-.679, p=0.000), self-efficacy(r=-.489, p= 0.000), physical condition(r=-.650, p=0.000) and social support(r=-.526, p=0.000). The most significant variables of middle-aged women's depression was self-concept(46.2%). Combining with physical condition(13.2%) and self-efficacy(0.9%), the three variables together explained 60.3% of middle-aged women's depression. Conclusion: The results show that middle-aged women's depression is closely related with self-concept, self-efficacy and physical condition. • In this study, we attempted to identify the personality traits that influence one's likelihood to stalk an ex-partner on Facebook. Specifically, we focused on self-concept-related traits, given that the motivations for using social network sites (SNS) are highly associated with the concept of self. These include self-esteem, narcissism, and self-efficacy. To assess these factors, we controlled for extraneous variables while assessing the predictive power of personality traits, such as Facebook usage, length of the relationship, and time since the break-up. The results of a self-administered, web-based survey (N=207) showed that self-esteem, narcissism, and self-efficacy are all traits that can predict the stalking of an ex-partner on Facebook. More specifically, we showed a negative association between self-esteem and one's likelihood to stalk an ex-partner on Facebook, while it showed positive relationships between Facebook stalking and both narcissism and self-efficacy.
