  • For bringing about a revolution in studying the classic literature the positivism must be overcome and the imaginative power about the history, literature and religion must be exercised. The theme of the monk-mask-play had been interpreted from the both viewpoint; the traditional mask play is the profane drama, but, on the other hand, it is the sacred drama. Judging from the social viewpoint, the sexual union of the old monk and the beauty symbolizes the reconciliation between the governing class and the production class. Judging from the viewpoint of the equalitarianism, that symbolizes the harmony of a masculinity and a femininity. Judging from the viewpoint of the education, that symbolizes the unification of reason and sensitivity. Judging from the viewpoint of the religion, that means the resurrection.

  • Objective: This study aimed to explore the effect of the national preschool curriculum on children's development in Korea, focusing on teachers' daily practice. By comparing the effect of the teachers' curriculum practice to that of quantitatively measured free play, it tried to add practical implications beyond the statistical significance. Methods: Participants were 512 three-year-old children who participated in the Panel Study of Korean Children and their teachers. National curriculum practice and free play time at the age of three was put in the hierarchical linear regression models to discover children's developmental outcomes at the age of four, in domains of language, cognitive development, and social development. Results: Results demonstrated the significant positive influence of national curriculum practice on every domain of developmental outcomes. However, no facilitative influence of free play time was observed. Conclusion/Implications: The importance of teachers' practice of the national curriculum was emphasized. It was implied that the quantity of free play time itself did not assure the sound development of children. Policy implications were discussed regarding teacher practice and education.

The subjects were one hundred 4- to 8-year-old children. The method was a doll play situation, composed of three different support conditions. Scalogram analysis was used to test the developmental sequence, and ANOVA and paired t-test were used to test the significance of differences in stages. The results of this study evidenced a sequential pattern in the 4- to 8-year-old children's understanding of social interaction. There were also significant differences between stages in the understanding of social interaction according to support conditions and behavioral domains. Higher levels of support produced higher stages of understanding and the understanding of positive social interactions were higher than those of negative social interactions at ages 4 and 5.

  • This article describes how attributes of social network contribute to enhance innovativeness of corporation which is considered to be one of the competitive factors in this global market. The study especially focused on employees' formal and informal communication that is expected to play a mediating role between the factors. 211 employees were randomly selected to participate in an online survey. The result has shown that the static correlation exists between social network, communication, and innovativeness. Closeness of social network was the only influencing factor on communication and innovativeness, and had a partial mediated effect between social network and innovativeness. Based on the suggested contribution for HRD intervention, various communication channels should be developed and supported in order to enhance innovation among social networks in organizations.

  • This study examines the social meaning of the CosPlay, the growth potential of CosPlay culture and its effect on the related industry through the perspectives and language of the youths who enjoy CosPlay, based on the ethnographic research. Also, this study presents a comparative description of Korea and Japan CosPlay culture by the ethnographic methodology whose purpose is to define relationship of cause and effect with phenomenon. For further step, this study plans to emphasize the need to link culture, clothes and related industry in order to create a cultural environment where diversity co-exists. CosPlay is the mania culture of Japan that emulated the Halloween party of the West and that developed the party into a unique form. In Korea, this practice was accepted for the first time among a handful of youths, starting from the 1990s, after which, it was introduced to the masses while holding CosPlay related events. While CosPlay is succeeded as an industry in Japan, CosPlay in Korea is considered childish play due to the Korean culture of considering cartoon as a childish and low class genre which is enjoyed by youths. CosPlay in Korea faces the following changes: aging of the members who comprised the CosPlay culture at the initial stage; population increase, centered on middle and high school students; interest of the government and the businesses that wish to produce economic wealth by organizing CosPlay events into events for youths; and changes in the environment that comprised the surrounding of the CosPlay culture. CosPlay is an honest play that demonstrates one's effort on the stage through performance. Moreover, most of the middle and high school students who comprise the CosPlay culture demonstrate similar characteristics as mania type of people when it came to the reason that they enjoy CosPlay. However, they did not consider CosPlay culture as an important aspect of their lives. Instead, most of them said that they participate to relieve stress. Thus, they have the potential to move onto another form of youth culture that may appear more attractive to them. To them, it is not the CosPlay culture that is important, but the fact that CosPlay provides a forum where they can freely engage in play.

  • Children's play facilities have changed over a decade from the traditional play facilities in the front yard to the new type of commercial play facilities which install more exciting and enjoyable facilities, such as Kids Park. The more diversified in the type of facilities, the more difficult in the safety management by the existing system. The 'Safety Management System of Children's Play Facilities' of MOSPA(Ministry of Security and Public Administration) has provided the safety information uni-directly by government sector to the private communities. Recently, multi-directional information sharing methods, such as community mapping are adopted actively in the social activities which have common purpose for making the better community by information sharing with government and private sector. On the purpose of citizen's participation for safe play facilities and preventing accidents, this study investigated the status of child accidents and safety standards, especially focused on the children's play facilities. And the way for sharing safety information among the communities with the GIS mapping skills is suggested in the respect of more easily monitoring and practically inputting the comments on the status of management of play facilities by real users based on their experiences. It is expected that more activities from the private sector would participate to the safety management of children's play facilities by realizing the suggested system.
