  • A 18-year-old male soccer player had painful triggering and occasional locking of the great toe caused by entrapment of the flexor hallucis longus tendon within the flexor sheath posterior to the right medial malleolus. After other treatment modalities failed, the condition was relieved by a surgical procedure that removed the nodule on the flexor hallucis longus tendon and the ganglion under flexor retinaculum. Tendon rupture was not found, although there was tendinitis.

  • The Purpose of this study was to compare the biomechanical difference of two soccer footwear. which will provide scientific data to coaches and players, to further prevent injuries and to improve each players skills. The result of this study can be summarized after testing the two types of soccer footwear with comparative transforming heel angles and also with a pressure distribution in running. When a player's foot first touched the ground, the average difference of in/eversion was between 1.2 and 3.1 degrees for the two soccer shoes. In regards to maximum inversion and eversion of foot, maximum tibial rotation, and maximum and total movement of foot, the condition of barefoot and the two soccer shoes showed a small difference from 1.5 to 3.5 degrees and the difference among the subjects of study wasn't constant. In regards to maximum velocity of inversion and eversion running in one's bare feet showed much lower inversion velocity in comparison to putting on two types of soccer shoes and comparison of the average. Among some of the subjects, after putting on the two types of soccer shoes exceeded $97^{\circ}/s$ in maximum velocity of eversion. In the maximum braking impulse(t=2774, p<.05) and propulsive impulse for antero-posterior direction, there was a statistically significant difference between the two soccer footwear at running. In the maximum braking force(t=3.270, p<.05) and propulsive force(t=4.956, p<.05) for antero-posterior direction, there was a statistically significant difference between the two soccer footwear at running.

  • This study was done to investigate the use of nutritional supplements (NS) in Korean elite soccer players using an anonymous questionnaire. NS were classified into health supplements, manufactured health food supplements, chinese medicines & tonic foods, and nutrient supplements. Information was sought on the type of NS and factors that might influence supplement use including selected demographic parameters and health related variables. The data were collected from 241 athletes (aged $24.6{\pm}3.8$ years) in 9 professional soccer club. The prevalence of NS use among the subjects was 81.3%. Health supplements were used most frequently and nutrient supplement drug was the second one. Among the health supplements, weight/muscle gainer and calorie replacement product were most frequently used. Vitamin supplements were most frequently used among all nutrient supplement drugs. Users of NS were higher age (p<0.05) duration of exercise (p<0.05), and income (p<0.05) than non-users. The married (p<0.05) and a member of K-league (p<0.01) tended to have higher prevalence of NS use. The main adviser of NS were family (55.3%) and oneself (39%) instead of coach or sports nutritionist. Although NS use, only 26.2% certainly check up nutritional information on their used NS. Among the subjects, 84.5% of them felt that NS use were improved athletic performance, and 86.5% of them will to keep on taking supplement. These data suggest that a large number of elite soccer players use NS and these players may require education about healthy nutritional supplement practice and on the proper use of nutritional supplements.

  • Nowadays the soccer becomes one of the best spot lighting sports in the world Especially the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup was deeply impressed on all the korean. One goal of illuminating engineering should be the design of lighting system that can provide consistently high task visibility regardless of where a task might be located within a working space. The television broadcasting on the soccer has been an important role in the media. The standard of FIFA(The Federation Internationale do Football Association) requires recommended illuminance levels for artificial lighting for a player, an audience, TV broadcasting, as well as everybody in the stadium. This paper has proposed an algerian to select the suboptimal lighting tower position for watching and TV broadcasting a soccer game within a pleasant environment and an optimum illuminance distribution. The position using the software Philip's Calculux was chosen based an the calculations of a horizontal illuminance, vertical illuminance, uniformity, glare, and so on by changing lighting tower positions.

  • Purpose: This study aims to analyze the management environment provincial and municipal professional soccer teams based on financial statements at a time when strengthening the financial soundness of domestic professional soccer teams is emphasized. Research design, data, and methodology: This study analyzed the financial statements (2018-2020) of the six teams of the provincial and municipal professional soccer teams whose financial statements were disclosed. The statements includes indicators of growth, profit and stability, which represents the main business performance of the entity. Results: As a result of the study, First, in terms of sales growth, sales in 2020 fell sharply year-on-year due to the impact of Covid-19. Second, the increase in sales through the import of player transfer fees had a positive impact on the growth of the business performance of the provincial and municipal professional soccer teams. Third, the profitability of the provincial and municipal professional soccer team is still low. Fourth, the debt ratio of the provincial and municipal professional soccer team was high, indicating that stability was serious. Conclusions: In order to increase sales, various strategies and measures are needed to overcome external factors such as media content products and non-face-to-face content strategies. The provincial and municipal professional soccer team, which has weak self-sustaining operations, needs to generate more profits through transferring players as a new management (profit) model, and first of all, a long-term strategy is needed to secure financial stability by improving the club's profitability.

  • Purpose : This study is carried out to investigate the effect of asymmetric exercises on soccer players' vertebral abnormality and weight bearing. Methods : A total of 40 soccer players were divided into either a group of 20 players who use a unilateral foot or a group of 20 players who use both feet. 3-dimensional spine structure analyzer was used to analyze body inclination, pelvic inclination, pelvic torsion, turning of spinal segment, spinal curvature, thoracic kyphosis curvature, lumbar lordosis curvature, left/right weight distribution, and front/back weight distribution. Results : The result of the two groups showed that there were significant differences (p<0.05) for every item except turning of spinal segment and lumbar lordosis curvature. Conclusion : From this result, we can find that spinal and pelvic deformity and body weight are unilaterally supported for soccer players with asymmetric exercises.

  • Purpose: This study aims to determine what changes occur in body composition and performance by subjecting youth soccer players to weight training and combined training, which are known to be effective in improving anaerobic capacity, for 6 weeks. Research design, data, and methodology: This study was conducted on 30 high school soccer players from S City who had no current injuries or medical problems and had been registered as players with the Korea Football Association for more than 3 years. Subjects were divided into a weight training group (WTG, n=15) and a combined training group (CTG, n=15). Training lasted 6 weeks, and measurements were taken before and after training. Mean (M) and standard deviation (SD) were calculated to present the descriptive statistics of all dependent variables. Paired t-tests were used to test for within-group differences. Further, Independent t-tests were employed to test for between-group differences. Results: In terms of body composition, height significantly increased in WTG and CTG, and body fat percentage significantly decreased in CTG. As for performance, WTG's 20m sprint record decreased significantly. Conclusion: As a result, this study confirmed that weight training improved the 20m sprint ability of youth soccer players. Future research could provide more useful information by extending the study period and incorporating the physical characteristics of adolescents.
