  • With rapid growth and fast diffusion of smartphone technologies, many users are deeply concerned about the smart applications and many mobile applications converged with various related technologies are rapidly disseminated. Especially, the convergence technologies like mobile apps that can establish the wireless ad hoc network between smartphone and other peripherals and exchange data are appear and progressed continuously. In this paper, we design and implement the smart app using bluetooth based wireless ad hoc sensor network that can connect smartphone with sensors and exchange data for various smart applications. The proposed smart application in this paper collects data obtained from more than 2 multi-sensors in real time and fulfills the decision making function by storing data at the database and analysing it. The smart application designed and implemented in this paper is the healthcare application that can analyze and evaluate the patient's health condition with sensing data from multi-sensors in real time through bluetooth module.

  • Although tuberculosis can be recovered if patients take medicine consistently, Korea shows significantly high rate in terms of incident rate and death rate of the tuberculosis patients. Considering such a situation, this paper has developed a smart pillbox that facilitates for patients requiring a long-term administration to take medicine in a regular and consistent manner. The developed smart pillbox is equipped with a load cell that can measure the weight in unit of 0.1g so that it can determine whether or not the medicine is dispensed out of itself. In addition, a software has been developed to determine the status of patient's taking medicine based on the measurement result.

  • The rapid increase in collateral omics and phenotypic data has enabled data-driven studies for the fast discovery of cancer targets and biomarkers. Thus, it is necessary to develop convenient tools for general oncologists and cancer scientists to carry out customized data mining without computational expertise. For this purpose, we developed innovative software that enables user-driven analyses assisted by knowledge-based smart systems. Publicly available data on mutations, gene expression, patient survival, immune score, drug screening and RNAi screening were integrated from the TCGA, GDSC, CCLE, NCI, and DepMap databases. The optimal selection of samples and other filtering options were guided by the smart function of the software for data mining and visualization on Kaplan-Meier plots, box plots and scatter plots of publication quality. We implemented unique algorithms for both data mining and visualization, thus simplifying and accelerating user-driven discovery activities on large multiomics datasets. The present Q-omics software program (v0.95) is available at http://qomics.sookmyung.ac.kr.

  • The rapidly aging population is also increasing the number of dementia patients rapidly. Studies have revealed the early signs of slowing progress. Therefore, dementia patient safety, continuous care, daily living, and health care are becoming more important. In this paper, a smart home care system using smart phones and Bluetooth communication technology was used to monitor the state of dementia patients of based on the results of grading dementia, health care of the dementia patients at home and provide for the safety of the system using motion sensors and gas leak sensors to respond to various emergency situations, such as fire, gas leak protection, and loitering. Using this system, the patient can stay longer in their home due to the nature of Korean culture before admission, while reducing the family's economical, physical and psychological burden and allowing the consultation of specialists through the system by building a database of individuals and providing professional service and specialty care referral agencies through the link.

  • In this paper smart shoes for dementia care using embedded boards and Low Power Wide Area technology and their application software are implemented. The communication board composed of Cortex-M3 board and LoRa module is embedded into groove made in outsole of smart shoes. Including the mold, the shoe outsole was manufactured by hand. By using application software and embedded board, caregiver can track the position of dementia patient using GPS and LoRa network. The location tracking and data transmission operations of smart shoes have been successfully verified in the outdoor environment. The smart shoes of this paper are applicable to a safety device to prevent the disappearance of demented patients through results of experiments and if bigdata is collected and analyzed by deep-learning, it may be helpful to analyze the predictive path of dementia patients or the pattern of dementia.

  • Background: This study analyzed the reliability of smart guides for gait analysis in patients with stroke. Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: The participants of the study were 30 patients with stroke who could walk more than 10 m and had an MMSE-K test score of ≥24. Prior to the experiment, the subjects or their guardians entered their demographic characteristics including gender, age, height, weight into the prepared computer. The experiment was conducted in a quiet, comfortable, and independent location, and the patient was reminded of the equipment description, precautions, and safety rules for walking. A smart insole was inserted into the shoes of the patients and the shoes were put on before the patients walked three times on the 5-m gait analysis system mat installed in the laboratory. Results: The reliability of the equipment was compared with that of the gait analysis system, and the results of this study are as follows: among the gait analysis items, velocity had an ICC=0.982, the cadence had an ICC=0.905, the swing phase on the side of the gait cycle had an ICC=0.893, the swing phase on the side of the gait had an ICC=0.839, that on the non-affected side had an ICC=0.939, single support on the affected side had an ICC=0.812, and support on the non-affected side had an ICC=0.767. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate no statistical difference between the smart insole and the gait analysis system. Therefore, it is believed that real-time gait analysis through smart insole measurement could help patients in rehabilitation.

  • Recent medical industry is an aging society and the application of national health insurance, with state-of-the-art research and development, including the pharmaceutical market is greatly increased. The nation's health care industry through new support expansion and improve the quality of life for the research and development will be needed. In addition, systemic administration of basic medical supplies, or drugs are needed, the drug at the same time managing how systematic analysis of pharmaceutical ingredients, based on data through the purchase of new medicines and pharmaceutical ingredients automatically classified by analyzing the statistics of drug purchases and the future a system that can predict a patient is needed. In this study, the drugs to the patient according to the component analysis and predictions for future research techniques, k-means clustering and k-NN (Nearest Neighbor) Comparative studies through experiments using the techniques employ a more efficient method to study how to proceed. In this study, the effects of the drugs according to the respective components in time according to the number of pieces in accordance with the patient by analyzing the statistics by predicting future patient better medical industry can be built.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of nursing college students' knowledge and attitudes about patient safety on self-efficacy. The participants comprised 186 students in a nursing college. Data collection was from September 22, 2020, to October 24, 2020. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, an independent t-test, a one-way ANOVA, the Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression through the SPSS 25.0 Program. Nursing students' knowledge of patient safety was 10.62±1.86 points on average, out of a total of 16 points. Attitudes toward patient safety and self-efficacy were an average of 3.72±0.45 points and an average of 3.71±0.65 points, respectively, out of 5 points. The relationship between knowledge and attitude about patient safety and self-efficacy was positively correlated. The effect on self-efficacy is attitude toward patient safety, satisfaction with a major, school practice, and clinical experience. The explanatory power was 14.4%. In conclusion, it is necessary to develop educational programs for patient safety that apply smart technology in order to enhance the self-efficacy of nursing students.

  • In recent years, smart clothing had been developed in order to better detect and monitor physical movement of the patient, so that such activities such as location identification and biometric recognition could be done. However, most of the sensing devices of smart clothing were limited to smart sensing sports clothing and the designs did not consider the physical characteristics and the behavior of the wearer. Therefore, this study aimed to create an open protection system by developing a wearable sensing device for health monitoring and location information. For this purpose, this study developed eleven types of wearable sensing design that could be commercially sold and worn by people who needed their biological information to be constantly monitored. The study conducted four tests in order to develop three types of sensing devices for various sensing wears. The purpose of this study was to expand the user rang of smart sensing wears, and provide a foundation for the development of distinctive wearable sensing devices reflecting the user. Furthermore, contribute to the design for the person subject to protection.
