A Study on Orientation and Position Control of Mobile Robot Based on Multi-Sensors Fusion for Implimentation of Smart FA (스마트팩토리 실현을 위한 다중센서기반 모바일로봇의 위치 및 자세제어에 관한 연구)

  • This study proposes a new approach to Control the Orientation and position based on obstacle avoidance technology by multi sensors fusion and autonomous travelling control of mobile robot system for implimentation of Smart FA. The important focus is to control mobile robot based on by the multiple sensor module for autonomous travelling and obstacle avoidance of proposed mobile robot system, and the multiple sensor module is consit with sonar sensors, psd sensors, color recognition sensors, and position recognition sensors. Especially, it is proposed two points for the real time implementation of autonomous travelling control of mobile robot in limited manufacturing environments. One is on the development of the travelling trajectory control algorithm which obtain accurate and fast in considering any constraints. such as uncertain nonlinear dynamic effects. The other is on the real time implementation of obstacle avoidance and autonomous travelling control of mobile robot based on multiple sensors. The reliability of this study has been illustrated by the computer simulation and experiments for autonomous travelling control and obstacle avoidance.

Security Core Technology Implementation for Hardware-based Smart Devices (HW기반 스마트 단말 보안 핵심기술 구현)

  • Recently, the frequency of dealing important information regarding financial services like paying through smart device or internet banking on smart device has been increasing. Also, with the development of smart device execution environment towards open software environment, it became easier for users to download and use random application software, and its security aspect appears to be weakening. This study inspects features of hardware-based smart device security technology. Furthermore, this study proposes a realization method in MTM hardware-based secure smart device execution environment for an application software that runs in smart devices. While existing MTM provides the root of trust function only for the mobile device, the MTM-based mobile security environment technology proposed in this paper can provide numerous security functions that application program needs in mobile device. The further researches on IoT devices that are compatible with security hardware, gateway security technology and methods that secure reliability and security applicable to varied IoT devices by advancing security hardware are the next plan to proceed.

  • Recently increasing usage of smart phones so, the application field of convergence industry between IT technology using smart phone-based mobile communication networks and other industry branches is expanding. In addition, R&D technologies in other fields are applied to smart phone applications effectively in order to develop products and support daily life more convenient. However, it is very hard to control these products and there is no efficient solution for this problem when many people are sent to specific area for big events, such as Biennale, Film Festival, EXPO, and so on. In order to solve this problem, this paper describes a network-based ticket reservation system and its organization using augmented reality on smart phone and mobile communication networks. In particular, we propose a method of designing and developing prototyping system based on smart phone application design technologies, prior to developing real smart phone application.

Factors Affecting the Intention to Use of Smart-Phone Banking Service: A Case of Chinese Users (스마트폰 뱅킹서비스 수용의도에 영향을 미치는 요인: 중국 사례)

  • In this paper we investigate the factors influencing the intention to use of smart-phone mobile banking service in China. We include the characteristics of smart-phone, mobile banking service, and users to the research model and also consider user satisfaction as an intervening variable. We try to find and prove the factors influencing the intention to use of smart-phone mobile banking service by surveying 206 chinese users and using structural equation model. This empirical paper proves that mobility, instance connectivity, use convenience, and intimacy give positive effects to intention to use of smart-phone mobile banking service. In addition, this paper indicates some managerial implications that mobility, access speed and the easy user interface can help to increase the degree of user acceptance.

  • Various applications are developed with the extension of the smart phone market. This affects the change of contents and market for mobile advertisement. Mobile advertisement has been changed from the text type in feature phone environment to banner type which are added on the applications and branded app which are application itself for commercials. This research shows the difference in views between users and professions for the factors which affects the acceptance of mobile advertisement in smart phone environment. The analysis results present two groups have significant differences in the views for the users' acceptances of mobile advertisement. This research provides the important factors which need to be considers in creating mobile commercials. It also suggests that professions in advertisement field have to consider the aspects of smart phone users when they create advertisements in smart phone environment.

Remote Navigation and Monitoring System for Mobile Robot Using Smart Phone (스마트 폰을 이용한 모바일로봇의 리모트 주행제어 시스템)

  • In this paper, using Zigbee-based wireless sensor networks and Lego MindStorms NXT robot, a remote monitoring and navigation system for mobile robot has been developed. Mobile robot can estimate its position using encoder values of its motor, but due to the existing friction and shortage of motor power etc., error occurs. To fix this problem and obtain more accurate position of mobile robot, a ultrasound module on wireless sensor networks has been used in this paper. To overcome disadvantages of ultrasound which include straightforwardness and narrow detection coverage, we rotate moving node attached to mobile robot by $360^{\circ}$ to measure each distance from four fixed nodes. Then location of mobile robot is estimated by triangulation using measured distance values. In addition, images are sent via a network using a USB Web camera to smart phone. On smart phones we can see location of robot, and images around places where robot navigates. And remote monitoring and navigation is possible by just clicking points at the map on smart phones.

  • A smart phone which is one of the new IT technologies can be viable on various enterprise applications since it provides easily information and services. Especially, a smart phone can request queries to a server which finds massive data for decision making and receive the results of the queries from the server. However, a smart phone has a drawback that its battery is consumed easily due to the 4G communication. In this paper, we propose mobile views in order to reduce the easy consumption of a battery on mobile client-server environment. The proposed mobile view scheme reduces the number of communication which is leading to power consumption using materialized views for processing queries. We also classify the methods to control the consistency of the mobile view as the sources of the view are changed and present the cost of each method based on the cost model of battery consumption.

  • Smart phone environment have an effect on consumer life style, as well as advances in technology. In this paradigm shift on digital convergence make change to commodities, services, and distribution channels for consumers. HomePlus wholesale that is representative distribution company in Korea launched the new distribution channel model that combined off-line store with online store and mobile shopping system called 'smart mobile virtual store'. That is highly praised by abroad media and festivals. This study is an exploratory study on consumer-centric smart mobile virtual store of HomePlus. There are value and chance for developing the new digital distribution model, in this study, because the case study and evaluation of consumers is important in this momentous time.

SCTS Conformance Test for OMA DS Standard for an Embedded Data Synchronization Gateway (임베디드 자료동기화 게이트웨이를 위한 OMA DS 표준 SCTS 적합성 테스트)

  • Nowadays, people perform their tasks anywhere anytime using their mobile devices. For this reason, data synchronization (DS) between mobile devices and a central server has become one of the most essential technologies in mobile environments. Currently, several mobile DS protocols are proposed and used. However, the existing DS protocols cannot guarantee interoperability between them. To solve the problem, an embedded DS gateway has been developed in our previous study. The gateway runs on a Windows Mobile-based emulator. It converts data on a mobile device into common data specified by OMA DS standard protocol and vice versa. The embedded gateway has been built to support the OMA DS standard protocol. In order to verify that the embedded gateway conforms to the OMA DS standard protocol, two kinds of OMA conformance tests have to be conducted - interoperability test with an OMA DS-based server and conformance test with SCTS (SyncML Conformance Test Suit). In this paper, some parts of the gateway previously built are modified and the modified gateway is installed on a Windows Mobile-based smart phone. And the interoperability test and the conformance test with the SCTS are conducted. The results of the tests show that the embedded DS gateway operates properly on the Windows Mobile-based smart phone and that the gateway passes the tests, verifying its conformity to the OMA DS standard protocol. In addition, DS performance tests show that DS delay times between a real smart phone and a DS server increase gently as the number of DS data increases. In other words, the embedded DS gateway built in this paper can be used for a real smart phone at a reasonable performance cost.

A Review of Mobile Data Traffic Explosion according to Digital Convergence and Action Plans of Network Operator (디지털 컨버전스 활성화에 따른 모바일 데이터 트래픽 증가 현황에 대한 고찰 및 대응 방안 모색)

  • Recently, mobile wireless data traffic has been dramatically increased due to not only the popularization of digital convergence devices including smart phone, Net-book, and Tablet PC, but also the vitalization of wireless Internet related eco-systems such as AppStore. In addition, it is expected that a tremendous increase in mobile data is caused by the release of unlimited mobile data plans (flat-fee). In order to deal with such mobile data traffic explosion, it is necessary that network operators should make efforts to offload wireless data traffic. This paper reviews the condition of mobile wireless data traffic in domestic and international telecommunication industry and looks for various action plans to overcome the difficulty of network operators.
