In electric motor coaches, the rolling stocks move by the adhesive effort between rail and driving wheel. Generally, the adhesive effort is defined by the function of both the weight of electric motor coach and the adhesive effort between rails and driving wheel. The characteristics of adhesive effort is strongly affected by the conditions between rails and driving wheel. When the adhesive effort decreases suddenly, the electric motor coach has slip phenomena. This paper proposes a anti-slip control algorithm which uses the maximum adhesive effort by instantaneous estimation of adhesion force using load torque disturbance observer. Based on this estimated adhesive effort, the anti-slip control is performed to obtain the maximum transfer of the tractive effort.
When low sliding velocities in the boundary lubrication range are operating, irregular movements frequently occur which are a result of the stick-slip phenomenon. Such slide motions are undesirable in precision machine tools, particularly with feed back systems used in numerical and adaptive control machine tools. Accordingly, this paper reports analytical and experimental studies in the stick-slip characteristic of machine tool feeding system. The main conclusions of this study are as follows; The tendency towards stick-slip effects may be reduced by; 1). Reducing the drop in friction coefficient in the Stribeck curve(on the rising part of the friction characteristic at higher sliding speeds, the system is stable all the time) 2). Reducing the transition velocity by the use of a higher viscosity lubricating oil. 3). Increasing the stiffness(Damping)and reducing normal load(Sliding mass) Therefore, the Critical velocity is decided from the above conclusions and in designing of machine tool, feed rates(sliding velocity)must be design the more than critical velocity.

In this paper, film thickness and temperature distribution are measured in EHL point contact at high slip ratios. Infrared temperature mapping with two band pass fillers. proposed by Ausherman (1976). is used to measure temperature distribution. And the optical interferornetric method with two filters (red and green filters) is used to measure film thickness. Result of experiment showed that temperature rising at film and ball surface occurred very dramatically in Dimple zone. As slip velocity, slip ratio and load increased, size of Dimple and temperature rising became more large In addition, Position and shape of Dimple we changed by slip ratios, and increasing of Dimple size decreased traction coefficient. In short, it is appointed that the Dimple phenomenon be developed by the effect of viscosity wedge.
Recently, the external bonding of carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) sheets has come to be regarded as a very effective method for strengthening of reinforced concrete structures. The behavior of CFRP-strengthened RC structure is mainly governed by the interfacial behavior, which represents the stress transfer and relative slip between concrete and the CFRP sheet. In this study, the effects of bonded length, width and concrete strength on the interfacial behavior are verified and a bond-slip model is proposed. The proposed bond-slip model has nonlinear ascending regions and exponential descending regions, facilitated by modifying the conventional bilinear bond-slip model. Finite element analysis results of interface element implemented with bond-slip model have shown good agreement with the experimental results performed in this study. It is found that the failure load and strain distribution predicted by finite element analysis with the proposed bond-slip are in good agreement with results of experiments.

The oversized and slotted holes are frequently required for the built-up in construction sites. The foreign provisions specify the reduction of the slip load subjected to the size of bolt holes and the direction of load. There are no domestic building codes and researches on the bolt holes. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate a change of joint strength quantitatively according to the bolt-hole size and surface condition by means of experiment. This study was conducted to evaluate the slip load subjected to the size of bolt holes, and measured on a change of clamping force of high strength bolts during 168 and 800 hours to analyze the trend of relaxation after fastening bolts. Torque shear bolts defined on KS B 2819 was used for the specimen. Test results exhibit that the variation on the slip load of the others was below 10% by contrast with the standard hole and the highest rate of relaxation was 2.66% of the initial clamping force at the case of the long-slotted hole of 2.5D.
In field fabrication of steel members, the oversize hole is frequently required due to reaming and mismatching. But, there are no provisions and investigations about oversize hole in the Korean specifications. So, in this study, the tension test of friction type high-tention bolted joints is performed with parameters of bolt hole size, surface treatment and tightening force, and investigate the effect of slip behavior with those parameters. From the results, the enough tightening force is needed to obtain some degree slip load in shot blast treatment case, although tightening force is reduced somewhat, it is no problem to guarantee slip load in zincrich primer case. The slip behavior of joints with oversize hole(26mm) is similar to the slip behavior of joints with hole of nominal size.

In this study, a method determining the local bond-slip model from pure shear test results of CFRP sheet-concrete adhesive joints is proposed and local bond-slip models are presented. Adhesive joints with a specific bond-slip model, which is assumed as multi-linear curve in order to represent arbitary function, are solved numerically. The difference between the solution and test results are minimized for finding the bond-slip model. The model with bilinear curve is also optimized to verify the improvement of multi-linear model. The selected test results are ultimate load-adhesive length curves from a series of adhesive joints and load-displacement curves for each joint. The optimization problem is formulated by physical programming, and the optimized bond-slip model is found using genetic algorithm.
In this paper, an auto-diagnosis method of rotor bar fault for small induction motor is suggested. Usually FFT of stator currents are given the good results, but to detect the fault, slip is needed for calculating the feature frequency. The slip is varied as the load is changed. So in this paper, some alternative method for estimating the load is suggested. This method is based on the Park's vector pattern. The magnitudes of the feature frequency are compared with the threshhold that is predefined in the bounded range of load. The healthy rotor, single rotor bar fault and double rotor bar fault are tested with no load, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% rated load. From 50% to 100% rated load case, the rotor bar faults are detectable using indirect estimation of the load and the comparing the magnitudes of feature frequency. The no load case and under 40% rated load case, rotor fault are un detectable.

This paper estimate coefficient of adhesion through speed sensor-less vector control and load torque disturbance observer used for maximum tractive force control. And also proposes anti-slip control algorithm, which controls torque force of motor in order to keep the estimated adhesion force in maximum adhesion by controlling PI torque with the differential value of estimated adhesion force coefficient.

The 3D nonlinear analysis for steel-concrete hybrid deck is carried out by utilizing 2D plane interface element. The effect of the slip occurred between steel and concrete can be modeled by this element. This analysis focuses on not only global behavior of steel-concrete hybrid deck but also local behaviors of members of it such as lower steel plate, I-beam, and concrete which are varied by slip modulus. In this analysis, it was founded that the limit slip modulus could classify the states of steel-concrete hybrid deck into three parts such as full-composite, partial-composite, and non-composite, considering the behavior of lower steel plate, I-beam, and concrete at the mid span and the support as well as the yield load and ultimate load of it.
