We shall derive the moment of the ratio Y/(X + Y) and the reliability P(X < Y ), and then observe the skewness of the ratio in a bivariate Pareto density function of (X, Y). And we shall consider an approximate MLE of parameters in the bivariate Pareto density function.

본고에서는 그래프를 이용하여 stable law분포의 index, skewness, scale, location 모수들에 대한 추정방법을 제시한다. 먼저, order statistics의 함수인 tail length statistic $K_{t}$ , skewness statistic $K_{s}$ 를 이용하여 index .alpha., scale .betha.를 추정한다. 다음에는, 추정된 .alpha., .betha.를 index로 하여 개발된 그래프들로 부터 scale .sigma., location .mu.추정에 필요한 order statistics의 함수를 결정한다. 몇가지 예를 마지막에 예시한다.

This study investigates Korean phonation types in terms of spectral characteristics of release bursts. Particularly, this study compares intensity of the speech signal in the release burst, the center of gravity and skewness of the spectra of the release bursts across phonation types for the Korean alveolar plosives. The results showed that there was no significant difference in intensity, center of gravity, or skewness across phonation types but a significant difference across speakers.

A CFAR algorithm for weibull clutter is discussed. The Maximum a posteriori(MAP) estimator for two parameters(skewness and scale) of the weibull clutter is proposed, assuming the probability density function of skewness parameter is known. And proposed MAP estimator is compared with the Maximum likelihood(ML) estimator. Using this MAP estimator, we can design CFAR detector which is shown to have smaller CFAR loss than ML CFAR detector by the statistical simulation method.

High order statistical parameters were evaluated using the electrochemical noise data collected during corrosion of type 430 stainless steel coupled to a inert, platinum electrode in 3.5% NaCl solution. High order statistical parameters are shown to predict uniform corrosion properly. However, Localization index, skewness of current, kurtosis and skewness of potential are capable of predicting pitting corrosion only when the transients are large with long life time. Of the high order statistical parameters evaluated, kurtosis of current is found to be the most sensitive parameter for detecting uniform and pitting corrosion.

소수 의견을 포함하는 온라인 상품평은 긍정 또는 부정 일변도인 상품평에서는 찾기 어려운 유익한 정보를 내포하기도 한다. 본 논문에서는 주어진 상품평 집합 속에서 소수상품평을 검색하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안방법은 개별 상품평을 먼저 긍정/부정 상품평으로 자동분류한 뒤, 주어진 상품평 집합의 긍정/부정 상품평의 비대칭도를 계산하여 소수상품평을 검색한다. 소수상품평 검색에서는 긍정/부정 자동분류 성능이 소수상품평 검색성능에 영향을 주는데, 본 논문에서는 도메인에 특화된 감성사전과 그렇지 않은 일반적인 감성사전을 가지고 상품평을 긍정/부정으로 감성분류한 뒤 비대칭도를 계산하여 소수상품평 검색성능을 비교한다. 스마트폰과 영화를 다룬 온라인 영문 상품평에 대하여 도메인에 특화된 감성사전을 가지고 소수상품평 검색성능을 평가한 결과, F1점수는 각각 24.6%와 15.9%였고, 정확도는 각각 56.8%와 46.8%였다. 이는 스마트폰과 영화의 개별 상품평 긍정/부정 분류 정확도가 각각 85.3%와 78.8%일 때의 성능이다. 본 논문에서는 또 긍정/부정 자동분류 성능이 주어졌을 때의 이론적인 소수상품평 검색성능에 대해서도 논의한다.

본 연구에서는 Monte-Carlo 모형, AR(1)모형, PAR(1) 모형과 같은 추계학적 모형의 잔차값을 무작위적 복원추출하여 연 및 월 하천 유출량자료를 모의발생하였다. Bootstrap이라고 불리우는 이 복원추출방법은 자료의 모집단의 가정이 필요없다는 장점이 있으며 자료로부터 직접 통계적 분포형을 추정하는 방법으로써 자료의 순위변동법을 이용한다. 본 연구에서는 이 방법을 용담지점에 적용하였으며 Bootstrap 방법으로 모의발생된 하천 유출량자료의 거동을 검토하기 하기 위해 관측 유출량과 모의 발생된 유출량의 통계치를 산정하여 비교하였다. 그 결과 기존의 방범과 Bootstrap 방법 모두 평균, 표준편차, 자기상관성은 잘 재현하였으나 왜곡도 계수의 경우 Bootstrap 방법이 더 뛰어남을 확인할 수 있었다.

The analyses of peak shapes in chromatography are useful in operating chroma­tographic system. The asymmetry and sharpness of a chromatographic peak are estimated by the reversed-phase adsorption of two standard peptides (angiotensin II bradykinin) on $C_{18}$ In this work, the average particle diameters of $C_{18}$ were 5 and 15 $\mu$m, while the pore sizes were 100 and 300 A. The composition of the mobile phase was $50/50\;vol.\;{\%}$ of a binary mixture of acetonitrile and water with $0.1\%$ TFA, and the particles were packed in a stainless column ($4.6{\times}150$ mm). The third and the fourth central movement were calculated from the chromatographic elution curves by moment analysis. The peak asymmetry was determined by two theoretical calculations: the asymmetry factor by elution peak analysis and skewness with moment analysis. The sharpness was estimated by the fourth central moment. In this work, the most acceptable skewness was calculated when the pore size was 300 A. The large excess was observed on small pore size.

본 논문에서는 역광 보정의 대표적인 방법인 retinex 알고리즘에서의 연산량, 후광 현상(halo artifact), 색신호 왜곡 등의 문제점을 개선하기 위해 화소 값의 분포 통계 특성인 비대칭도(skewness)를 이용한 적응적 retinex 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안 방식에서는 칼라 영상의 조명 정보인 휘도 성분에 대해 비대칭도 기반의 대조비(contrast) 보정 함수를 정의하였으며, 이를 기반으로 휘도 성분의 역광 보정 빛 색신호 보정을 수행하도록 하였다. 실험 결과를 통해 광원량의 정도에 관계없이 효과적인 역광 보정이 되었음을 확인하였으며, 기존 retinex 기법과 비교하여 40% 이상의 연산량의 이득이 있었음을 확인할 수 있었다.

These days the interest of quality leads to the necessity of control charts for monitoring the process in various fields of practical applications. The $\overline{X}$ chart is one of the most widely used tools for quality control that also performs well under the normality of quality characteristics. However, quality characteristics tend to have nonnormal properties in real applications. Numerous recent studies have tried to find and explore the performance of $\overline{X}$ chart due to non-normality; however previous studies numerically examined the effects of non-normality and did not provide any theoretical justification. Moreover, numerical studies are restricted to specific type of distributions such as Burr or gamma distribution that are known to be flexible but can hardly replace other general distributions. In this paper, we approximate the false alarm rate(FAR) of the $\overline{X}$ chart using the Edgeworth expansion up to 1/n-order with the fourth cumulant. This allows us to examine the theoretical effects of nonnormality, as measured by the skewness and kurtosis, on $\overline{X}$ chart. In addition, we investigate the effect of skewness and kurtosis on $\overline{X}$ chart in numerical studies. We use a skewed-normal distribution with a skew parameter to comprehensively investigate the effect of skewness.
