  • The aim of this study is to discover thermal characteristics of Ondol heating systems. The housing subjected was categorized into detached single family houses and apartments, reinforced concrete and brick structures, intermittent and continous heating system, and the space subjected was bedroom. In order to understand the thermal characteristics of each floor heating systems, the vertical distribution of indoor temperature and the distribution of surface temperature on the floor were measured. The vertical distribution of indoor temperature except the measurement point 1 largely showed average temperature distribution, and the temperature of the measurement point 1 in the housing surveyed showed the highest temperature in the house "sample A" because of the radiation heating from the floor of the Ondol room. As the result of the measurement, the thermal characteristics of each heating system were more stable distribution in apartments of R.C structure.structure.

As research data, the medical charts of patients on the general hospital in the large city in two years 1987 and 1992 were used. The rate of home accidents increased in 1992. Children had more accidents than others and single family dwellings were the predominant place of accidents. The accidents slip frequently occured(21.1%), with respect to the place, room was the main place of accidents(40.5%), the accidents in a living room and a kitchen increased in 1992. 59.2% of the total patients were slightly injured, the faulty design was the main cause of the accidents and the acciednts by the personal factor increased in 1992. In the next study(III), I'm going to analyze the relationships among types of accidents, places of accidents, defrees of accidents, causes of accidents, and the personal characteristics of patients.

  • This study aims to find out differences between designer's design guidelines and user's actual behavior about play facilities of children playground in multifamily housing site by using the method of Post-Occupancy Evaluation. Korea National Housing Cooperation developed the 18 play facilities and constructed them into children' playground of Bun-dong and Junggae-dong housing site in Seoul. The results are as follows: First, user's behaviors which differed from designer's guidelines were influenced by mechanical and technical problems rather than design. Second, users adjusted their brahvior to play facilities which have a little operational problems. Third. users tried to make dangrous activity instead of designer's guidelines based on the safety. It infers that users want to make creative activities from play facilities. Fourth. designers should have developed play facilities for infants and youth. Fifth. users liked to play more complicated play facilities rather than single facility.

This study aims to analyze the residence environment level of the some local cities by using the Z-score method and to propose a higher residence environment. The elements of measurement in this study are determined by the general methodology. The results are as followings: 1. The residence environment level of Yeosu and Mokpo is high, that of Andong and Kyeongsan is low in this study. The ratio of road paving is the most related element in the correlation analysis. 2. The ratio of sewage supply is low compared with the scale of the dwelling area. So the sanitation environment should be improved. 3. In this correlation analysis on the residence pattern, the ratio of a single detached house is more positive than that of a multi-family house. So the single detached house pattern will be desirable in the residence environment.

The purpose of this study is to investigate housing evaluation (satisfaction), moving plan, and residential service according to the type of the public rental housing and the characteristics of the resident, and to suggest the development direction for comprehensive housing services including the community level. Data used for analysis in this study are from 2016 Seoul panel survey of public rental housing residents. In this study, the difference of residential satisfaction, moving plan, and residential service according to the type of the public rental housing and the characteristics of the resident is analyzed to identify their housing demands. As a result, there were differences in residential satisfaction, moving plan, and residential service depending on type of public rental housing and characteristics of residents. Residents in public rental housing modified from the multi-family housing after purchase showed lower residential satisfaction, and higher intention for moving plan compared to residents living in other type of public rental housing. In the residential service, residents in permanent lease type have higher experience of housing service as well as demand on housing service. Especially single household, elderly household, female household, or household with handicapped person indicated higher demand for housing services.

  • This study evaluates the poverty experiences of low-income single mothers according to the Capability Approach of Amartya Sen. In this approach, the capability to achieve the basic functionings of life, not income itself, is the criterion of poverty. 26 single mothers were interviewed using focus-group interviews and in-depth interviews. 21 functionings on the existence level, 18 on the relatedness level, and 15 on the growth level were found in the areas of work, health, food consumption, clothing, housing, child rearing, and leisure. The results of this study suggest that low-income single mothers can achieve only some of the existence level functionings with significant help from welfare services. They can scarcely achieve higher level functionings in any of these areas.

  • According to Plato's ontology, we lead our lives by establishing a relationship with others in the society. However in rapidly changing era, our lives was gradually moving towards personal tendency. Even for the relationship with family, not with others. Thus, awareness about owning properties has changed due to the sociocultural factors and increase number of single-person households. So in this study, the considerations for single-person housing were perceived through preceding research, and the elements making spatial boundary of shared housing were drawn to make rational space sharing based on the boundary with others and of the living environment. With overall analysis based on the spatial boundary features of planned shared housing, the plan characteristics according to the spatial boundary of the current shared housing is to be drawn and analyzed. Third, The expressive and structural features of spatial boundary as above appear with mutual flexible connectivity, And the result shows that the modularity was the highest. Among them variable coupling modularity of shows how it is possible to combine efficiently and variously the private and public spaces with regularity of 'space of optimal unit'. This study drew plan characteristics from more detailed space border of shared housing. Therefore, The basic framework of the characteristics spin for the cases that newly emerge later on.

  • This study suggests that the diversity of parks is necessary because the number of children, who are the main users in children's parks, is decreasing and the use of parks by older people is increasing. In particular, the present aging society is trying to propose a multi-purpose park to solve the problem of the elderly leisure. To do this, this study surveyed domestic and foreign children's parks and selected study sites to understand the usage patterns of children's parks. As a result of surveying the location of the park to select the study sites, most children's parks were found mostly in single family housing areas and multi-family housing areas. As a result of the survey, it was found that the children's parks consisted of streets and areas by the 'City Parks and Greenery Act' and they were uniform. This paper presents basic data for the development of a model for producing a multipurpose park that can be used for children's parks by the elderly. The subjects of this study were selected from 7 districts of Daegu city, which were classified into single family housing areas and multi-family housing areas. As a result, the arrangement of various facilities in the children's park is insufficient, and it was uniform without a design motive and contents. Therefore, the utilization rate of various age groups could be increased by developing a multi-purpose park model for a children's park.
