Real-Time Mapping of Mobile Robot on Stereo Vision (스테레오 비전 기반 이동 로봇의 실시간 지도 작성 기법)

  • This paper describes the results of 2D mapping, feature detection and matching to create the surrounding environment in the mounted stereo camera on Mobile robot. Extract method of image's feature in real-time processing for quick operation uses the edge detection and Sum of Absolute Difference(SAD), stereo matching technique can be obtained through the correlation coefficient. To estimate the location of a mobile robot using ZigBee beacon and encoders mounted on the robot is estimated by Kalman filter. In addition, the merged gyro scope to measure compass is possible to generate map during mobile robot is moving. The Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) of mobile robot technology with an intelligent robot can be applied efficiently in human life would be based.

Robust Online Object Tracking with a Structured Sparse Representation Model

  • As one of the most important issues in computer vision and image processing, online object tracking plays a key role in numerous areas of research and in many real applications. In this study, we present a novel tracking method based on the proposed structured sparse representation model, in which the tracked object is assumed to be sparsely represented by a set of object and background templates. The contributions of this work are threefold. First, the structure information of all the candidate samples is utilized by a joint sparse representation model, where the representation coefficients of these candidates are promoted to share the same sparse patterns. This representation model can be effectively solved by the simultaneous orthogonal matching pursuit method. In addition, we develop a tracking algorithm based on the proposed representation model, a discriminative candidate selection scheme, and a simple model updating method. Finally, we conduct numerous experiments on several challenging video clips to evaluate the proposed tracker in comparison with various state-of-the-art tracking algorithms. Both qualitative and quantitative evaluations on a number of challenging video clips show that our tracker achieves better performance than the other state-of-the-art methods.

Simultaneous Synthesis and Rapid Consolidation of Nanostructured (Ti,Mo)C and Its Mechanical Properties (펄스전류 가열에 의한 나노구조의 (Ti,Mo)C 합성과 동시 급속소결 및 기계적 성질)

  • Nanocrystalline materials have recently received significant attention in the area of advanced materials engineering due to their improved physical and mechanical properties. A solid-solution nanocrystalline powder, (Ti,Mo)C, was prepared via high-energy milling of Ti-Mo alloys with graphite. Using XRD data, the synthesis process was investigated in terms of the phase evolution. Rapid sintering of nanostuctured (Ti,Mo)C hard materials was performed using a pulsed current activated sintering process (PCAS). This process allows quick densification to near theoretical density and inhibits grain growth. A dense, nanostructured (Ti,Mo)C hard material with a relative density of up to 96 % was produced by simultaneous application of 80 MPa and a pulsed current for 2 min. The average grain size of the (Ti,Mo)C was lower than 150 nm. The hardness and fracture toughness of the dense (Ti,Mo)C produced by PCAS were also evaluated. The fracture toughness of the (Ti,Mo)C was higher than that of TiC.

Selective Decoding Schemes and Wireless MAC Operating in MIMO Ad Hoc Networks

  • Problems encountered in IEEE 802.11 medium access control (MAC) design are interferences from neighboring or hidden nodes and collision from simultaneous transmissions within the same contention floors. This paper presents the selective decoding schemes in MAC protocol for multiple input multiple output ad-hoc networks. It is able to mitigate interferences by using a developed minimum mean-squared error technique. This interference mitigation combined with the maximum likelihood decoding schemes for the Alamouti coding enables the receiver to decode and differentiate the desired data streams from co-channel data streams. As a result, it allows a pair of simultaneous transmissions to the same or different nodes which yields the network utilization increase. Moreover, the presented three decoding schemes and time line operations are optimally selected corresponding to the transmission demand of neighboring nodes to avoid collision. The selection is determined by the number of request to send (RTS) packets and the type of clear to send packets. Both theoretical channel capacity and simulation results show that the proposed selective decoding scheme MAC protocol outperforms the mitigation interference using multiple antennas and the parallel RTS processing protocols for the cases of (1) single data stream and (2) two independent data streams which are simultaneously transmitted by two independent transmitters.

  • Recently, many Processor manufacturers have implemented simultaneous multi treading technology, which can simultaneously execute independent threads in one processor cycle, as a way of increasing processor efficiency, ana one particular example is Hyper Threading. Hyper Threading technology, which enables many logical processors to reside a physical processor, differs from the current multiprocessing environment which has many independent processors, and calls for a particular work assignment method optimized for Hyper Threading environment Thus, in this paper, We have proposed a scheduling algorithm compatible with Hyper Threading technology and analyzed its performance using various methods. As a result, we shall expect its efficient performance by properly understanding and managing Hyper Threading system.

  • In this paper, we propose a secure alternative for improving airspace capacity of Incheon International Airport. Since the direction of simultaneous independent approaches to runway 15/16 radar-guided approach for ILS approach procedures for the need to provide control services, in view of the radar is the smallest possible no-fly zone airspace propose the demilitarized zone (P-518) adjustment. The Effect of Rapid Consolidation of Nanostructured MoSi2-SiC Composite on its Mechanical Properties (나노구조 몰리브덴늄실리사이드-실리콘카바이드 복합재료의 급속소결과 기계적 성질)

  • A dense nanostructured MoSi$_{2}$-SiC composite was synthesized by a pulsed current activated combustion synthesis method within 2 min of one step from mechanically activated powders of Mo$_{2}$C and Si. Simultaneous combustion synthesis and consolidation were accomplished under the combined effects of a pulsed current and mechanical pressure. Highly dense MoSi$_{2}$-SiC with a relative density of up to 98% was produced under simultaneous application of an 80 MPa pressure and pulsed current. The average grain size and mechanical properties of the composite were investigated.

2D Indoor Map Building Scheme Using Ultrasonic Module (초음파 센서 모듈을 활용한 2D 실내 지도 작성 기법)

  • In this paper, we proposed ultrasonic radar module and fixed module for the 2D indoor map building and from each of the modules, we can see the possibilities, limitations and considerations. And finally show the result of building actual 2D indoor map from the modules. Recently there are lots of works for the building indoor map by spotlight on the simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM). And the LiDAR, ultrasonic, camera sensors are usually used for this work. Especially the LiDAR sensor have a higher resolution and wider detection range more than the ultrasonic sensor, but also there are limitation in the size of module, higher cost, much more throughput of processing data, and weaker to use in various indoor environment noises. So from these reasons, in this paper we could verify that proposed modules and schemes have a enough performance to build the 2D indoor map instead of using LiDAR and camera sensor with minimum number of ultrasonic sensors and less throughput of processing data.

A Parallelization Technique with Integrated Multi-Threading for Video Decoding on Multi-core Systems

  • Increasing demand for Full High-Definition (FHD) video and Ultra High-Definition (UHD) video services has led to active research on high speed video processing. Widespread deployment of multi-core systems has accelerated studies on high resolution video processing based on parallelization of multimedia software. Even if parallelization of a specific decoding step may improve decoding performance partially, such partial parallelization may not result in sufficient performance improvement. Particularly, entropy decoding has often been considered separately from other decoding steps since the entropy decoding step could not be parallelized easily. In this paper, we propose a parallelization technique called Integrated Multi-Threaded Parallelization (IMTP) which takes parallelization of the entropy decoding step, with other decoding steps, into consideration in an integrated fashion. We used the Simultaneous Multi-Threading (SMT) technique with appropriate thread scheduling techniques to achieve the best performance for the entire decoding step. The speedup of the proposed IMTP method is up to 3.35 times faster with respect to the entire decoding time over a conventional decoding technique for H.264/AVC videos.

  • High Hydrostatic Pressure assisted (HHP) process enhancement for food and allied industries are reported in this paper review. Recently, considerable research has been devoted to the improvement of mild thermal processing techniques and to the development of alternative mild processing technologies. HHP assisted can enhance existing extraction, processes and enable new commercial extraction opportunities and processes. New HHP processing approaches have been proposed, including, the potential for modification of plant cell material to provide improved bioavailability of micro nutrients while retaining the natural-like quality, simultaneous extraction. Therefore, High Hydrostatic Pressure assisted (HHP) technologies could have a strong presence in the future of the biotechnology industry.
