Characterization of thin film Si solar cell with FTO transparent electrode (FTO 투명전극에 따른 박막 실리콘 태양전지 특성평가)

  • We deposited $SnO_2$:F thin films by atomospheric pressure chemical vapor deposition(APCVD) on corning glass. $SnO_2$:F films were used as transparent conductive oxide (TCO) electrode for Si thin film solar cells. We have investigated structural, electrical and optical properties of $SnO_2$:F thin films and fabricated thin film Si solar cells by plasma enhanced CVD(PECVD) on $SnO_2$:F thin films The cells were characterized by I-V measurement using AM1.5 spectra. Conversion efficiency of our cells were between 5.61% and 6.45%.

  • This paper describes on the electrical and physical charateristics thin-film type Pt-RTD\\`s on Si wafers, in which MgO thin-films were used as medium layer in order to improve adhesion of Pt thin-films to SiO$_2$ layer. The MgO medium layer had the properties of improving Pt adhesion to SiO$_2$ and insulation without chemical reaction to Pt thin-films and the resistivity of Pt thin-films was improved. In the analysis of properties of Pt-RTD, TCR value had 3927 ppm/$^{\circ}C$ and liner in the temperature range of room temperature to 40$0^{\circ}C$

  • A novel deposition process for n-type nanocrystalline silicon (n-type nc-Si) thin films at room temperature has been developed by adopting the neutral beam assisted chemical vapor deposition (NBa-CVD). During formation of n-type nc-Si thin film by the NBa-CVD process with silicon reflector electrode at room temperature, the energetic particles could induce enhance doping efficiency and crystalline phase in polymorphous-Si thin films without additional heating on substrate; The dark conductivity and substrate temperature of P-doped polymorphous~nano crystalline silicon thin films increased with increasing the reflector bias. The NB energy heating substrate(but lower than $80^{\circ}C$ and increase doping efficiency. This low temperature processed doped nano-crystalline can address key problem in applications from flexible display backplane thin film transistor to flexible solar cell.

  • ${\beta}$-SiC thin film was deposited on a Si substrate without buffer layer using a single precursor of Hexamethyldisilane (Si2(CH3)6) by chemical vapor deposition method. HCI gas was introduced into hexamethyldisilane /H2 gas mixture, and the feeding schedule of HCI and precursor gases was modified in order to enhance the selectivity of SiC deposition between a Si substrate and a SiO2 mask. The effect of HCI gas on the surface roughness of the SiC film was investigated and typical electrical properties of the SiC film were also investigated by Hall measurement.

  • Ferroelectric Sr$_2$(Nb, Ta)$_2$O$_{7}$(SNTO), La$_2$Ti$_2$O$_{7}$(LTO) thin films were prepared by sol-gel processes. SNTO, LTO thin films were spin-coated on Pt/TiO$_2$/SiO$_2$/Si(100). Pt/Ti/SiO$_2$/Si(100). PT/ZrO$_2$/SiO$_2$/Si(100) substrates. After multiple coating, dried thin films were heat-treated for decomposition of residual organics and crystallization. Dielectric and other relevant electrical properties were measured and the results showed a little possibility in ferroelectric gate random access memory devices.ces.

  • In this work, we demonstrated that the fabrication of flexible graphene-based chemical sensor with heaters by soft lithographic patterning method [1]. First, monolayer and multilayer graphene were prepared by thermal chemical vapor deposition transferred onto SiO2 / Si substrate in order to fabrication of patterned-sensor and -heater. Second, patterned-monolayer and multilayer graphene were detached through soft lithography process, which was transferred on top and bottom sides of PET film. Third, Au / Ti (Thickness : 100/30 nm) electrodes were deposited end of the patterned-graphene line by sputtering system. Finally, we measured sensor properties through injection of NO2 and CO2 gas on different temperature with voltage change of graphene heater.

  • In this paper, silicon thin-film solar cells(Si- TFSC) and a-Si/c-Si heterojunction solar cells(HJ-cell) are investigated. The Si-TFSC was prepared on glass substrate by depositing $1-3{\mu}m$ thin-film silicons by glow discharge method. The $a-Si:H/{\mu}c-Si:H$ tandem solar cells on textured ZnO:A1 TCO (transparent conducting oxide) showed improved Jsc in top and bottom cells than that on $SnO_2:F$ TCO. This enhancement of jsc resulted from improved light trapping effect by front textured ZnO:A1. The a-Si/c-Si HJ-cells with simple structure without high efficiency features are suffering from low Voc and Jsc. The improvement of front nip and back interface properties by adopting high quality silicon-films at low temperature should be done both for increasing device performances and production cost.

High-temperature Oxidation of Nano-multilayered AlTiSiN Thin Films deposited on WC-based carbides

  • Nano-multilayered, crystalline AlTiSiN thin films were deposited on WC-TiC-Co substrates by the cathodic arc plasma deposition. The deposited film consisted of wurtzite-type AlN, NaCl-type TiN, and tetragonal $Ti_2N$ phases. Their oxidation characteristics were studied at 800 and $900^{\circ}C$ for up to 20 h in air. The WC-TiC-Co oxidized fast with large weight gains. By contrast, the AlTiSiN film displayed superior oxidation resistance, due mainly to formation of the ${\alpha}-Al_2O_3$-rich surface oxide layer, below which an ($Al_2O_3$, $TiO_2$, $SiO_2$)-intermixed scale existed. Their oxidation progressed primarily by the outward diffusion of nitrogen, combined with the inward transport of oxygen that gradually reacted with Al, Ti, and Si in the film.
