  • In this study, we made the high strength light weight concrete which was composed of the garnet minute powder to be the industry by-product in the YoungJoo region and the artificial light weight aggregate which the high temperature(1100℃) plastic process. The characteristic of the autogenous shrinkage had been considered about strength characteristic and the age passage In the following addition: The concrete's each unit quantity was determined 145,160,175㎏f/㎥.w/b and s/a was determined 30%, 43%, 45%. the each garnet's substitution ratio was determined 0, 10%. In this results, the compressive strength appeared greatly as the unit joining discretion grew bigger. The autogenous shrinkage ratio was increased rapidly until 7th day but it was reduced after 7th day regardless of the mixed factor. The autogenous shrinkage ratio which follows the change of the unit quantity and s/a increased together as the unit quantity and the s/a increases.

  • This paper was to investigate the effect of component material to cause drying shrinkage of concrete. The latin square method was used in analysis of experimental results. The experimental factor was W/C, W/A, F.M and the level was divided into four step and the be analyzed. Compressive strength was mainly dependent in W/C through 90% F-verification. Drying shrinkage was mainly dependent on W/C in warly age through the same method, but not in later age. S/A, F.M did not affect compressive strength and drying shrinkage of concrete in all age.

  • Basic creep of concrete during very early ages is an important factor on the behavior of young concrete and a great deal of research has been executed. However, in recent studies, it was revealed that the basic creep measured by sealed concrete was inaccurate, especially for high strength concrete because of autogenous shrinkage at early age. This paper presents the results from experimental study that investigate to explore the effect of autogenous shrinkage in basic creep. More specifically, four different mix proportions were casted and the primary variables were water-cement ratios. Through this research, it was found that the differences between apparent specific creep and real specific creep were remarkable in low water-cement ratio at early age. Therefore, it is recommended to modify existing creep model by considering autogenous shrinkage

  • Ridge partial least squares regression (RPLS) is a regression method which can be obtained by combining ridge regression and partial least squares regression and is intended to provide better predictive ability and less sensitive to overfitting. In this paper, explicit expressions for the shrinkage factor of RPLS are developed. The structure of the shrinkage factor is explored and compared with those of other biased regression methods, such as ridge regression, principal component regression, ridge principal component regression, and partial least squares regression using a near infrared data set.

  • In this paper, we investigated the electric and acoustic properties of piezoelectric composites, which were fabricated using polymer and piezoelectric ceramics, when the volume fraction of PZT varies. Practically, the shrinkage rate of polymer is an important factor in ultrasonic transducer fabrication. When 10 wt% filler A was added into polymer(Epofix), the lowest shrinkage was resulted. The electromechanical coupling factor($k_t$) of the fabricated piezoelectric composites showed its highest when the volume fraction PZT was 0.6. It decreased if the volume fraction was higher than the value. The relative permittivity and acoustic impedance of piezoelectric composites decreased linearly when PZT volume fraction was decreased. The lowest acoustic impedance was 3.2 when the volume fraction of PZT was 0.2.

  • Recently, as the thickness of the semiconductor package becomes thinner, warpage has become a major issue. Since the warpage is caused by differences in material properties between package components, it is essential to precisely evaluate the material properties of the EMC(Epoxy molding compound), one of the main components, to predict the warpage accurately. Especially, the cure shrinkage of the EMC is generated during the curing process, and among them, the effective cure shrinkage that occurs after the gelation point is a key factor in warpage. In this study, the gelation point of the EMC was defined from the dissipation factor measured using the dielectric sensor during the curing process similar with actual semiconductor package. In addition, DSC (Differential scanning calorimetry) test and rheometer test were conducted to analyze the dielectrometry measurement. As a result, the dielectrometry was verified to be an effective method for monitoring the curing status of the EMC. Simultaneously, the strain transition of the EMC during the curing process was measured using the FBG (Fiber Bragg grating) sensor. From these results, the effective cure shrinkage of the EMC during the curing process was measured.

  • The purpose of this study is to establish the control method of the global bending distortion caused by fabrication process of hatch-cover in a container ship. In order to do it, the transitional behavior of global bending distortion in the deck of hatch-cover during fabrication process was measured by 3-dimensional measuring instrument. From the results, the principal factor controlling the global bending distortion was identified as the bending moment associated with the longitudinal shrinkage force and transverse shrinkage caused by welding and flame heating and the change of the centroid axis of hatch-cover in each fabrication process. Therefore, in this study, with the predictive equations of the longitudinal shrinkage force and transverse shrinkage caused by welding and flame heating and the simplified thermo elastic method, the predictive method for the global bending distortion was established and verified by comparing with the measured result. Based on the results, the amount of reverse bending distortion of main stiffeners was determined to prevent the global bending distortion of hatch-cover.

  • PET yarns textured at different texturing conditions were treated with superheated steam or dry heat at different temperatures for different times. The effects of the treatment conditions on the thermomechanical and structural changes of the yarn were examined by shrinkage, X-ray diffraction and birefringence measurements. With increase in superheated steam temperature, the crystalline orientation factor and birefringence decreased, whereas crystal size increased. Dry heat treatment had a smaller effect on shrinkage and structural properties in comparison with superheated steam treatment. The additional shrinkage after texturing process was investigated. The effect of heat-setting in both media was more significant at $200^{\circ}C$. The time dependence of the properties was not linear.

  • This paper presents a method of statistical analysis and sensitivity analysis of creep and shrinkage effects in PSC box girder bridges. The statistical and sensitivity analyses are performed by using the numerical simulation of Latin Hypercube sampling. For each sample, the time-dependent structural analysis is performed to produce response data, which are then statistically analyzed. The probabilistic prediction of the confidence limits on long-term effects of creep and shrinkage is then expressed. Three measures are examined to quantify the sensitivity of the outputs to each of the input variables. These are rank correlation coefficient(RCC), partial rank correlation coefficient(PRCC) and standardized rank regression coefficient(SRRC) computed on the ranks of the observations. Probability band widens with time, which indicates an increase of prediction uncertainty with time. The creep model uncertainty factor and the relative humidity appear as the most dominant factors with regard to the model output uncertainty.

  • We have investigated on the development of 2-2 mode piezocomposites that have better piezoelectric activity and lower acoustic impedance than those of conventional piezoceramics. In this study, we have investigated the electrical properties and acoustic impedance of 2-2 mode piezocomposite which were fabricated using the dice-and-fill technique for the different volume fractions of PZT The volume shrinkage of polymer is an important factor in 2-2 mode piezocomposites fabrication. The thickness mode electromechanical coupling factor($\kappa_t$) of PZT was compared with that of piezocomposites. It was shown that the 2-2 mode piezocomposites were much better than the PZT only. The acoustic impedance of 2-2 mode piezocomposites decreased linearly when PZT volume fraction was decreased.
