고강도 강판의 성형성에 미치는 Shot Blasting 가공 조건의 영향 (Effect of Shot Blasting Treatment on the Formability of Thin High Strength Steels)

  • In order to study the effect of shot blasting condition on the formability of thin high strength steels, specimens were made by changing line speed of a commercial shot blasting plant with maintaining constant impeller condition. Surface roughness of prepared specimens was multiplied by lowering line speed or increasing density of shot impact. Formability was reduced as increasing shot impact. The elongation and stretching formability of shot blasted sheet were decreased by about 10% compared to original sheet. More significant decrease in bending formability was observed after shot blasting. This might be due to the concentrated impact near the surface where major strain occurs during bending process.

  • A shot blasting process is to improve the surface quality of stainless steels. The process is similar to a well-known shot peening that is used to strengthen the surface via the residual stress. In the shot blasting process, it is important to decide many parameters, such as the size, incident angle and velocity of shot balls, to effectively get rid of the iron oxide on the surface of stainless steels. In this study, the simulation of the shot blasting process is carried out by a finite element software, which can help to find out the optimal design parameters to cause the delamination of the iron oxide from the stainless steel substrate. The results obtained are also compared to those of the discrete element method to verify them.

쇼트 블라스팅 표면처리를 통한 미세홀 방전가공 성능향상에 관한 연구 (A Study on Performance Improvement of Electrical Discharge Machining for Producing Micro-holes Using a Shot Blasting Surface Treatment)

  • With an increasing trend toward miniaturization, electrical discharge machining(EDM) has been receiving a lot of attention as a suitable production technology for micro-parts, since it enables the machining of hard conductive materials with a high degree of repeatability and without alteration to the material. When a micro-hole is fabricated by EDM, however, the diameter of the inlet hole is larger than that of the outlet region due to the additional discharge effect caused by the eroded particles. In this paper, a shot blasting surface treatment, in which an abrasive material is accelerated through a pressurized nozzle and directed at the surface of a part, is suggested as an effective method to reduce the tapered shape of EDM micro-hole. In addition, the influence of process parameters such as spark-on time and electrode diameter on the machining performance was investigated. It is shown quantitatively that the difference in diameter between the inlet and outlet holes decreases with the shot blasting treatment and with decreasing spark-on time.

Effect of Surface Pretreatment on the Corrosion Resistance of Epoxy-Coated Carbon Steel

  • The corrosion resistance of epoxy-coated carbon steel was evaluated. The carbon steel surface was subjected to different treatment methods such as steel grit blasting with different size, steel shot ball blasting and power tool treatment. To study the effect of the treatments, the topology of the treated surface was observed by optical 3D microscopy and a pull-off adhesion test was conducted. The corrosion resistance of the epoxy-coated carbon steel was further examined by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) combined with hygrothermal cyclic testing. The results of EIS indicated that the epoxy-coated carbon steel treated with steel grit blasting showed an improved corrosion resistance compared to untreated epoxy-coated surfaces or surfaces subjected to shot ball blasting and power tool treatments.

  • The results were obtained with changes according to the surface roughness of work roll and method to make the peak count on the roll in the temper rolling, and factors to affect to the work roll surface in actual rolling machine(ie. Temper mill). Conclusions are as follows. 1. E.D.T(Electro-discharge texturing)roll is more uniform roughness distribution than shot blasted roll and it's life time is two timees longer than that of shot blasted because it has more sine wave roughness. 2. The higher peak count of surface roughness, the more time is necessary to work roll texturing In shot blasting method, Surface roughness is relating to the grit size,impeller speed and hardness of roll material, But is can't control the peak count. 3. In shot blast texturing, Surface roughness of temper rolled strip which is transfered surface roughness of work roll is more ununiform than that of E.D.T roll 4. E.D.T roll has more uniform than the shot blasted roll and has more peak count than that of shot blasted roll. The surface of painted strip to image clarity is superior to that of shot blasted roll because E.D.T roll has more peak count and smooth surface.

연주식 발파공법 개발에 대한 기초적 연구 - 리듬감 부여에 관하여 - (A Basic Study on Development of Orchestra Blasting Method - About the Application of Rhythm -)

  • 그 동안 우리나라와 같이 터널 및 노천 발파 현장 근거리에 보안물건이 위치해 있어 진동제어가 절실히 필요한 상황에서 진동제어에 효과가 있는 것으로 알려진 전자뇌관을 이용하여 불쾌감을 주던 발파음을 쾌적한 발파음으로 전환하고자 연주식발파공법(Orchestra blasting method, OBM)개발에 대한 연구가 진행되어왔으며, 본 연구에서는 리듬감구현에 중점을 두고 실험을 실시하였다. 우선 단발발파를 실시하여 독립파형을 획득, 누적 파형합성프로그램(Program blasting wave, PBW)을 이용하여 분석한 결과 실험 현장의 최적지연초시는 34ms를 나타내었고, 50ms이상에서는 수렴하는 경향을 보였다. 또 리듬감 구현에 필요한 지연시차를 선택한 음악의 실제 연주 시간을 분석하여 결정하였고, 그 결과 실제 연주 시간에 맞춰 기폭된 발파음은 큰 북으로 연주하는 듯한 느낌을 주는 쾌적한 발파음으로 전환시킬 수 있었다.

조질압연 가공시 작업롤조도와 판면조도 변화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Surface Roughness Variation of Work Roll and Strip at the Temper Rolling)

  • A study on the surface roughness variation of work roll and strip at the temper rolling was performed. The results were obtained with changes according to the surface roughness of work roll and method to make the peak count on the roll in the temper rolling, and factors to affect to the work roll surface in actual rolling machine (ie. Temper mill). The results suggests that the electro-discharge textured roll has mere uniform roughness distribution than shot blasted roll and its life time is two times longer than shot blasted because it has more sine wave roughness, and it is possible to control the Rmax. In shot blasting method, Surface roughness is related to the impeller speed, But it can't control the peak count.

초고성능 섬유보강 콘크리트로 보강된 콘크리트의 계면 전단강도 결정을 위한 경사전단 실험 (Slant Shear Test for Determining the Interfacial Shear Strength of Concrete Strengthened with Ultra-High Performance Fiber Reinforced Concrete)

  • 이 연구에서는 강섬유 보강 초고성능 콘크리트(Ultra-high performance fiber reinforced concrete, 이하 UHPFRC)로 보강된 콘크리트 계면에서의 전단강도 평가를 위한 경사전단실험을 수행하였다. 실험변수는 면처리 유무와 콘크리트 강도, 그리고 UHPFRC의 강섬유 혼입률이다. 콘크리트의 계면은 숏블라스팅으로 면처리되었다. 실험결과, 숏블라스팅으로 면처리된 실험체의 계면 전단강도는 매끄러운 표면을 가진 실험체의 부착강도에 비해 매우 크게 나타났으며, 거친면을 만들기 위한 숏블라스팅 방법은 매우 효과적인 방법인 것으로 나타났다. 숏블라스팅으로 표면처리를 할 경우, 전단마찰 철근이 없더라도 콘크리트 계면에서 저항하는 전단강도는 현행 기준에서 제시하고 전단강도 상한값을 초과하는 것으로 나타났다. 기존의 콘크리트와 UHPFRC 사이의 전단마찰 설계는 전단마찰 철근의 유무와 상관없이 현행 콘크리트 구조기준을 사용해도 무방할 것으로 판단된다. 다만, 면처리를 하지 않은 경우에는 적절한 전단 보강재가 추가 설치하여야 할 것이다.

Study on the Effect of Surface Finishing Methods on Pitting Corrosion Behavior of 304 Stainless Steel Alloy

  • In this study the effect of different surface finishing techniques on the pitting corrosion behaviour of a commercial 304 stainless steel alloy was investigated. Surface finishing methods were divided into two categories, i.e. mechanical and chemical. Mechanical treatment methods include power tooling such as grinding, emery paper brushing, stainless steel wire brushing and stainless steel shot blasting. Chemical treatment methods include chemical passivation (phosphoric acid, citric acid, nitric acid) and electro-cleaning (phosphoric acid and citric acid). Potentiodynamic polarization experiments were carried out in 3.5 wt. % NaCl solution at room temp. (20 $^{\circ}C$). The results showed that chemical treatment methods improved the corrosion resistance of stainless steel 304, measured in terms of pitting potential ($E_{pit}$). Corrosion resistance of the specimens was increased in the order of; electro-cleaning > manual passivation > mechanical cleaning. Surface of electro-cleaned specimens was smoother than rest of the surface treatment methods. Chrome content in chemically treated specimens was higher than in mechanically treated specimens as shown by EDX analysis.

산화피막 저감을 위한 열처리 기술에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Heat Treatment Technology for Reduction of Oxidation Scales)

  • 열처리시 대부분 연소로의 경우는 대기중에서 열처리되기 때문에 표면에 산화피막이 형성된다. 그러므로 이의 제거를 위해 숏블라스트(Shot blasting) 같은 연마와 산세공정이 추가되므로 공정소요 시간이 오래 걸리고 연마분진으로 인한 작업장의 환경악화는 물론 제품의 형상이 복잡하거나, 강관의 내면은 처리가 더욱 어려워진다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 연소로 내부에 고온 내구성을 지닌 강재로 내부로를 제작하고 내부 분위기를 불활성분위기로 조절하여 산화피막의 형성을 저감시키기 위하여 연구하였다. 전기로에서 실험된 시편의 SEM, EPMA, EDX의 분석결과 산화피막이 저감됨을 알 수 있었고, 또한 진공로와의 처리품질 비교에서도 진공로와 유사한 광휘성을 나타내었다. 연구결과 개선공정을 적용하기 위해 내부로는 원통형에 재질은 SBB410으로 제작하고 분위기 가스가 유입되는 가스관로는 STS310으로 하부에서 유입시키는 방식이 가장 효율적일 것으로 도출되었다. 기적용된 사업장의 절감효과를 적용한 경제성 평가에서 연간 약 4천만원 이상의 절감효과가 기대되고, 청정기술적 효과로는 열처리 이후 제품의 구조상 제거되지 못하는 산화피막에 대한 대책 수립 및 산화피막 폐기물발생 저감, 그리고 공정단축과 작업환경의 개선효과를 볼 수 있다.
