  • This paper shows the procedure to determine the physical variables of the simple synthetic testing facility using LC resonance circuit and presents the calculated results of those variables for the LC resonance circuit which can be used to test circuit breakers up to 36kV 40kA class. Attention has also been paid to the advantages of the LC resonance circuit compared with the method adopting short-circuit generator for the development of circuit breakers.

PCB의 금속 이온 마이그레이션 현상에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Metallic ion Migration Phenomena of PCB)

  • Recently a lots of problems have observed in high densified and high integrated electronic components. One of them is ion migration phenomena, which induce the electrical short of electrical circuit. ion migration phenomena has been observed in the field of exposing the specific environment and using for a long tin e. This study was evaluated the generation time of ion migration and was investigated properly test method through water drop test and high temperature high humidity test. Also we observed direct causes and confirmed generation mechanism of dendritic growth as we reproduced the ion migration phenomena. We utilized PCB(printed circuit board) having a comb pattern as follows 0.5, 1.0, 2.0 mm pattern distance. Cu, SnPb and Au were electroplated on the comb pattern. 6.5 V and 15 V were applied in the comb pattern and then we measured the electrical short time causing by ion migration. In these results, we examined a difference of ion migration time depending on pattern materials, applied voltage and pattern spacing of PCB conductor.

±750[V] 직류배전망의 고장전류 산정에 관한 연구 (A Study on Fault Current Calculation of ±750[V] DC Distribution Grid)

  • In recent years, the proliferation of DER (distributed energy resources) is progressing rapidly. In particular, research on LVDC distribution grid with various advantages has begun. In order to commercialize this LVDC grid, direct current protection method should be established by analysis of DC faults. Recently, the development of HSCB (high-speed circuit breaker) for new ${\pm}750[V]$ LVDC grid has been researched. This paper deals with the calculation of the maximum short-circuit fault current of the HSCB as a part of the development of HSCB for the LVDC distribution grid. First, modeling using PSCAD was carried out for PV array with BESS on the Gochang Power Test Center system. Next, to calculate the rated capacity of HSCB, fault currents were calculated and the characteristics were analyzed through fault simulations. Thus, this study results can help to establish short-circuit capacity calculation of HSCB and protection plan for DC protection relay system.

  • 본 논문에서는 세계최초로 내철형 주상변압기 코일의 권선을 일반적인 권선방법에서 Zig-Zag(가칭) 권선방법으로 설계 제작하는 방법을 제안하였으며, 또한 바니시 함침공정을 생략하고 단락강도 및 절연내력을 향상시킬 수 있는 내철형 변압기용 권선의 신프레임 구조개발 내용을 제안하였다. 기존의 주상변압기 권선방법에 비하여 전기절연 측면에서 층간 절연지의 사용매수 및 두께를 획기적으로 절감할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 또한 원가절감과 손실저감 및 단락기계력 대처능력이 우수함을 검증하였으며 국내전력회사 배전계통 주상변압기에 유용하게 활용할 수 있다.

  • Even the case DC circuit Breaker have good quality for interruption of high current like heavy load current, short-circuit current, the verification for small current breaking capability of circuit breaker should be performed. It comes from the reason DC small current breaking failure can be lead to break out second heavy fault condition and in the long run substation shutdown. In this paper, we can find the characteristics of DC small current and international test standard discription about small current breaking and one of the proper solution to get over it.

  • The breaking of a circuit in DC grid could pose a challenge because of the absence of zero-crossing instant for both current and voltage when a fault occurs. An additional fault current limiting function will be very helpful for reducing the burden of the DC circuit breaker by limiting the fault current to a reasonable value. In this paper, we studied the overcurrent characteristics of several HTS conductors so that we could use the selected conductors for the basic design work of a resistive type fault current limiting module as a part of the circuit breaking system. According to the short-circuit test results, we suggested and compared two different basic design parameters of the HTS fault current limiting module, which will be connected in series to the DC circuit breaker.

  • A first short stoke current which has a 10/350 ${\mu}s$ waveform is able to be generated by using the crowbar switch in R-L-C circuit. In this paper, a peaking circuit has been applied to make crowbar switch. Operate effective for generating 10/350 ${\mu}s$ waveform. According to simulation with PSpice, we have found that some value of inductance were more effective to trigger a crowbar switch. As a result of experimental test using crowbar switch with peaking circuit, the success rate of triggering crowbar switch is higher than the normal crowbar switch without peaking circuit.

  • A 30kVA superconducting generator has been designed, developed and successfully tested recently. The design is based on 2-dimensional electromagnetic field analysis. The rotor has been wound with superconducting wire of Nb-Ti alloy. The stator has the air-gap type armature windings. Open-circuit test, short-circuit test and lamp load test have been conducted. The details of design program, design, machinebuilding, test results and conclusions are given in this paper.

태양광 직렬 아크 검출기의 오검출 방지를 위한 DWT 기반 파라미터 및 반복 알고리즘 (DWT-Based Parameter and Iteration Algorithm for Preventing Arc False Detection in PV DC Arc Fault Detector)

  • This paper applies the arc detection algorithm to prevent the false detection in photo voltaic series arc detection circuit, which is required not only to detect the series arc quickly, but also not falsely detect the arc for the non-arc noise. For this purpose, this study proposes a rapid and preventive false detection method of single peak noise and short noise signals. First, to prevent false detection by single peak noise, Discrete wavelet transform (DWT)-based characteristic parameters are applied to determine the shape and the amplitude of the noise. In addition, arc fault detection within a few milliseconds is performed with the DWT iterative algorithm to quickly prevent false detection for short noise signals, considering the continuity of serial arc noise. Thus, the method operates not only to detect series arc, but also to avoid false arc detection for peak and short noises. The proposed algorithm is applied to real-time serial arc detection circuit based on the TMS320F28335 DSP. The serial arc detection and peak noise filtering performances are verified in the built simulated arc test facility. Furthermore, the filtering performance of short noise generated through DC switch operation is confirmed.

혼합절연을 이용한 초저손실급 주상변압기 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of Super Low-loss Type Pole Transformer Using the Hybrid Insulation)

  • 주상변압기는 고객에게 직접 전력을 공급하는 설비로서 전력공급의 안정성확보를 위한 중요한 기자재 중 하나이다. 하지만 제조결함에 의한 3년 이내의 초기고장 또는 13년이 초과 사용한 후의 열화고장이 빈번히 발생하고 있어 변압기 품질분석을 통한 신뢰성이 개선된 주상변압기 개발이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 열적, 기계적, 전기적으로 성능이 향상된 새로운 모델의 혼합절연 주상변압기를 개발하였다. 변압기의 기계적, 열적특성을 향상시키기 위한 혼합절연 방식에 대한 설계 및 제작방법을 제시하고 과부하시험을 시행하여 순간최대부하에 대응할 수 있도록 과부하내량 160[%] 까지 증가시킬 수 있음을 확인하였다. 또한 본 논문에서는 100[kVA] 1대를 시제품으로 제작하여 단락강도시험과 변압기 관련 절연시험을 시행하여 전자기계력의 분석과 단락강도설계 향상 방안에 대하여 설명하고 이와 관련하여 연구한 결과에 대해 논하였다.
