  • The purpose of this study is to find out the residents' attitudes for the shared community space (SCS) according to various housing sizes (60㎠, 85㎠, 102㎠, 135㎠). The major findings are as follows: 1) The residents' overall trends for the SCS showed that the satisfaction rate and requirement rate according to housing size didn't show a significant difference, but there was a considerable difference among the using rates for each category of housing sizes. 2) The kinds of common facilities that residents required were recreational facilities, car-wash facilities, children's play centers, facilities for separation/sanitation for garbage and recyclable materials and lounging facilities in that order. The common facilities that require tenant-management were recreational facilities, car-wash facilities and lounging facilities in that order. The common facilities that require participation in tenant-management were study/reading facilities, recreational facilities and hobby/lecture facilities in that order. 3) With regard to the residents' needs, the tenant-management and participation in it, the kinds of common facilities were differentiated according to housing size (60㎠, 85㎠, 102㎠, 135㎠).

  • Development in multimedia technology enhances Computer Supported Cooperative Work(CSCW) such as tole-conferencing and tole-education. These applications are also called groupware applications and usually composed of AM conferencing module and shared working space such as group editors. Through this shared working space users can present, manipulate and save common artifacts interactively. Since users are allowed to operate on common artifacts simultaneously, conflicts between user transactions are bound to happen and can cause unnatural effects on user interfaces. In this paper we reviewed these problems and presented common solutions to concurrency control problems. We also presented Coshed/SAS, a group editor, as an example of groupware applications and related concurrency control problems.

  • People's leisure activities have increased due to changes in perception of social life. Camping cars are becoming popular due to the development of camping culture and traveling. However, there are not many users compared to the population of the camper due to the difficulty of economy and usability. Making it not easy to purchase or rent a camping car. Therefore, this study researches on camping service by combining shared services. It is aimed to provide a user centered camping shared service considering usage and economic efficiency. This study analyzed the concept, characteristics and current status of shared service and camping car with reference to domestic, overseas literature and internet data to provide basic data of camping car using shared service. In addition, through case study of shared vehicles, it is possible to grasp the current market. Integrate P2P, B2C, renting company and individuals to derive the design of A2P (All to People)service which connects and shares all. The user can have its own space available at the desired place and time. This study is a camping or unique mobile space service design that can be easily experienced in everyday life. It will reduce the strain of maintaining expenses and also process of pick up, return is freely making user-centered service design. This service design will lead to a diverse range of leisure activities and contribute to the upsweep of the camper industry.

  • In this study, problems with table serving of Korean Jeollanamdo food were investigated, and methods for improvement were suggested. The manner of food serving and arrangement on tables, as well as the serving space in each case, were investigated in representative restaurants serving Jeollanamdo food. The results showed that most of the Jeollanamdo Korean food have a prototype of a flat serving sprea, wherein the main dish and side dishes are not clearly identified, the demarcation between shared space and personal space is insufficiently made for each serving on the table, and the table is full of side dishes, that are narrow, visually disordered and unhygienic, both in terms of the table setting and arrangement inside bowls. To provide sufficient eating space, elevate awareness of hygienic and clean serving, and identifying the main dish in the table setting, a serving method that is a compromise between the flat spread-out and time-series development was suggested, and an arrangement on the table was defined for the main dish and side dishes. The utilization of table space was also increased by reducing the number of dishes on the table at a given moment. In addition, the dish or bowl and arrangement inside the container were changed in order to distinguish the main dish and side dishes. It is suggested that some of tableware be linked with the special products of the locality so as to make a brand for them, and that a personal mat be used to arrange the tableware for each one, since there are many fermented food items (salted fish, kimchi, fermented paste and sauce, etc.) and boiled food items (stew, steamed dish, boiled dish in sauce, etc) that look dark and unfocused. In addition, it is suggested that the width and breadth of the dishes or bowls be set in an orderly manner. Considering the tables currently available at restaurants, personal space on a table and comfortable distance between eaters are suggested to be $400 mm{\times}250 mm$ and 300 mm, respectively.

  • The aim of this paper is to investigate a control framework for mobile robots, operating in shared environment with humans. The Intelligent Space (iSpace) can sense the whole space and evaluate the situations in the space by distributing sensors. The mobile agents serve the inhabitants in the space utilizes the evaluated information by iSpace. The iSpace evaluates the situations in the space and learns the walking behavior of the inhabitants. The human intelligence manifests in the space as a behavior, as a response to the situation in the space. The iSpace learns the behavior and applies to mobile agent motion planning and control. This paper introduces the application of fuzzy-neural network to describe the obstacle avoidance behavior teamed from humans. Simulation results are introduced to demonstrate the efficiency of this method.

  • A study of flow characteristics of supersonic fluidic oscillators with shared feedback channel inside was carried out. Unsteady CFD analysis were performed and the numerical results were validated by comparison with the experimental ones observed for the same operation conditions. It was found that the mass flow between individual oscillators through the shared feedback channel directly influenced on the oscillating flow mechanism inside the oscillator, and finally on the synchronization of the jet oscillations. It was also observed that the oscillator with shared feedback channel provided higher pressure loss as well as higher oscillation frequency as compared to the single oscillator of the same geometric shape.

  • In shared memory multiprocessor systems, false sharing occurs when several independent data objects, not shared but accessed by different processors, are allocated to the same coherency unit of memory. False sharing is one of the major factors that may degrade the performance of memory coherency protocols. This paper presents a new shared memory allocation scheme to reduce false sharing of parallel applications where master processor controls allocation of all the shared objects. Our scheme allocates the objects to temporary address space for the moment, and actually places each object in the address space of processor that first accesses the object later. Its goal is to allocate independent objects that may have different access patterns to different pages. We use execution-driven simulation of real parallel applications to evaluate the effectiveness of our scheme. Experimental results show that by using our scheme a considerable amount of false sharing faults can be reduced with low overhead.

  • KAISTSAT-4 is to be launched in August 2003 into an orbit at 800 km altitude with the intended mission shared between astrophysics and space physics. The primary objective of its astrophysics mission is to provide spectral sky survey data of hot Galactic plasmas in the far-ultraviolet wavelength range. Far-Ultraviolet Imaging Spectrograph (FIMS) is sensitive to emission line fluxes in 900 - 1175 $\AA$ and 1335 - 1750 $\AA$. (omitted)

  • In this paper, we developed the scheme to grow to use newly added disk space without having to kill the application, unmount file system. This scheme, called online resizing, can resize the file system layout with the advent of Logical Volume Manager. The online resizing scheme is designed and implemented in linux cluster system where multiple hosts share the disk data in storage area network environment. It is incorporated with SANfs shared file system and can perform resizing technique with SANfs-VM volume manager. The experimental result shows that it can maximize the availability and capacity of the SANfs system which are important for modem servers where must not lose their customer.
