Influence of Awareness of Sexual Harassment on Nursing Students' Coping Behavior during Clinical Practice (임상실습 시 간호학생의 성희롱 인식 정도가 성희롱 대처유형에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the awareness of sexual harassment and the coping behavior of recipients of sexual harassment. This study also assesses the factors that influence the coping behavior of nursing students during clinical practice. Methods: For this descriptive study, data were collected from November 15 to December 15, 2017. Participants included 221 nursing students recruited from nursing colleges located in three different areas. Results: 22% of the participants answered that they had experienced sexual harassment. Regarding the type of attacker, the majority of attacker was patient (83.7%). The sexual harassment awareness level was $4.22{\pm}0.40$, the degree of coping for those who experienced sexual harassment was $2.99{\pm}0.38$. Among the coping behaviors, mitigation ($3.48{\pm}0.39$) was the highest. The factors influencing the coping behavior of recipients of sexual harassment were sexual harassment awareness (${\beta}=0.24$, p=.016) and satisfaction with preventive education (${\beta}=0.45$, p<.001). Conclusion: In order to make a safe clinical practice environment, it is necessary to develop a practical sexual harassment prevention program, as well as a reporting and support system for the nursing students. Such a program will help students clearly recognize the sexual harassment situation and increase their abilities to cope with sexual harassment appropriately.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of Sexual Knowledge and Sexual Attitude on the Sexual Coping Behavior among university students and presents basic data for helping healthy Sexual Culture. Methods: A survey was held to the university students in Seoul and Chungcheong cities from April 11 to April 25, 2016. of 237 copies were in the final analysis. For data analysis, SPSS 21.0 for Windows was used. Results: As a result, there were correlations between variables, Sexual Coping Behavior of University students were affected by the gender, distorted sex, have the experience of sexual intercourse and accepted sex. Conclusions: It is need to development program and counseling for establishment of the healthy sex culture of university students.

The medicating Effect of Senior Citizens' Sexual Desire-Coping Behavior on Sexual Attitude and Life Satisfaction (노인의 성태도와 삶의 만족도 관계에서 성 욕구 대처행동의 매개효과)

  • The objectives of this study were to understand sexual attitudes and coping behavior of elderly people and to examine the mediating effects of the sexual coping behavior on the sexual attitudes and life satisfaction in order to improve the quality of life of elderly people. The survey was conducted on 305 elderly people at home living. As a result, in relation to the sexual attitudes of elderly people, it was shown that the 'rational sexual attitude' was the highest and the 'liberal sexual attitude' was higher than the 'traditional sexual attitude' among the subordinate factors. This study showed that there was a significant correlation between the sexual attitude, sexual coping behavior and life satisfaction. Furthermore, it is shown that the sexual coping behavior significantly mediates the relation between the liberal sexual attitude and life satisfaction of elderly people at home.

Sexual Desire, Sexual Attitude, and Sexual Desire Coping Behavior in Military Personnel (육군 병사의 성욕구, 성태도 및 성욕구 대처행동)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to identify the sexual desire, sexual attitude and sexual desire coping behavior in military personnel, and analyze relationships among these variables. Methods: Data were collected from February to April, 2015 using a structured questionnaire. Participants in the study were 199 military personnel visiting the military hospital P. Results: The average score for sexual desire was $2.09{\pm}0.59$, for sexual attitude, $3.15{\pm}0.42$, and for sexual desire coping behavior, $3.18{\pm}0.40$. Sexual desire showed a significant difference according to age (F=3.386, p=.023), assignment (F=3.327, p=.038). Sexual attitude was significantly different by religion (F=6.857, p<.001). The sexual desire coping behavior was found to be more active with military service period 5~9 months compared to 11~15 (F=3.621, p=.014) and in private first class compared to rank of private (F=3.165, p=.026). There was a significant positive correlation between sexual desire and sexual behavior, between sexual attitude and sexual desire coping behavior. Conclusion: To prevent sex-related accidents and diseases, it is necessary to provide sexual and health education customized for military personnel. For military personnel to cope appropriately with sexual desire, military personnel need to implement alternate measures such as encouraging soldiers to enjoy hobbies or physical exercise programs.

College Students Dating Violence and Coping Behavior (대학생이 이성교제 중 폭력과 대처행동)

  • The purpose of this study was to find the general trends of college students'dating violence and coping behavior, to examine the difference among dating violence and coping behavior according to individual variables and relational variables, and to analyze the effects of these variables influencing coping behavior. The major findings were as follow; First, 99.1% of respondents reported that they had experienced violence at least once. The score of violence offense and violence victimization was lower than median. But male students' sexual violence was significantly higher than females'. Second, total score of coping behavior was lower than median. The score of female students positive coping was significantly higher than males, and that of mate students' avoidance coping was significantly higher than females. Third, the violence style varied with sex, altitude toward violence, anti-communication, and conflict. etc. Fourth, the positive coping behavior varied with victim response and victimization of physical violence. etc. The avoidance coping behavior varied with sex, age, grade, sex-role attitude, and partner's sexual violence. etc. ruth, the positive coping behavior was influenced by sex, partner's psychological violence, conflict, anti-communication. etc. The avoidance coping behavior was influenced by sex and grade.

Effect of Sexual Attitude and Sexual Desire of Aged People in the Institution on Coping Behavior Toward Sex (시설노인의 성태도, 성욕구가 성 대처행동에 미치는 영향)

  • This study attempted to identify the effect of senescent sexual attitude and desire of 352 aged people living in institutions on coping behavior. The main findings of this study are summarized as follows: Firstly, the negative sexual attitude was higher than the positive one of the aged people, the subjects of this study, and their sexual desire and coping behavior showed a low level, falling short of the median. Secondly, as for the positive sexual attitude of aged people in the institution, the point of sexual attitude of those under age 65 appeared high. As for the negative attitude, the point was higher among those over 89 in age, that of the group who graduated from elementary and middle schools was also high, showing a U-turn curve in the order of those with an academic background of high school and above and those with no academic background. Thirdly, as for sex drive, the point of sexual attitude of those under age 65 appeared high in cases where persons engaged in the institution look at the relationship between aged men and women as good and in cases where aged people in the institution see the relationship among their fellow aged people as good. As for the desire for sexual relationship, the lower their ages were, their points were higher; and in terms of academic background, the highest were those with none, followed by those who graduated from high school and above and by those who did from elementary and middle schools, showing a U-turn curve. Fourthly, as for the problem-focused coping behavior of aged people in the institution with respect to coping behavior toward the sex, the lower their ages were lower, the higher their points were, and the points were also high in cases where persons engaged in the institution look at the relationship between aged men and women as good and in cases where aged people in the institution see the relationship among their fellow aged people as good. As for the problem-evading coping measure, the points for men at age between 66 and 75 appeared high in cases where persons. Fifthly, the higher the positive sexual attitude of aged people in the institution was, the lower their negative sexual attitude was while the higher the sex drive and the desire for sexual relationship were; and they were shown to do problem-focused coping behavior and problem-evading coping behavior well. Sixthly, the more positive their sexual attitude was, the higher the sex drive and the desire for sexual relationship were, the better they were shown to do problem-focused coping behavior

  • Purpose: This study aimed to understand the elderly's sexuality by analyzing the relationship between subjective quality of life and perception, attitude, and coping behaviors regarding sexuality in the elderly. Methods: The participants were 120 indivisuals, aged 65 or over, located in Y city. Data were collected from April to June, 2012 by a questionnaire survey. Data analysis was done by using SPSS WIN 18.0 program including one-way ANOVA, independent t-test, Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: The predicting variable affecting subjective quality of life was sexuality perception (B=0.45, p<.001), and sexual coping behavior (B=0.25, p=.014) and they have a 25.0%(Adj $R^2=25.0$) explanatory power for the subjective quality of life in the elderly. Conclusion: To increase the subjective quality of life for the elderly, it is necessary for the individuals to have a positive perception of their sexuality and the expression of positive sexual coping behavior.

Effects of Expressive Sexual Coping Behavior on the Prostitution Attitude of Spouseless Men (무배우자 남성의 표현적 성 대처행동이 성매매 태도에 미치는 영향: '범죄억제에 대한 인식'의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • This study used 286 men living without a spouse in the regions of Daejeon, Sejong, Chungnam and Chungbuk to review the effects that expressive sexual coping behavior have on the prostitution attitude. During this process, the moderating effect of the factor, 'perception of crime deterrence', was verified. The data were analyzed using PASW Statistics 18.0.Major findings are as follows; First, the attitude towards prostitution found in study subjects was higher than average, showing that they had a positive perception. Second, factors affecting the attitude towards prostitution were identified to be education level, health status, employment status, social participation, sexual coping behavior, official and unofficial deterrence as part of crime deterrence. Third, official deterrence as part of crime deterrents appeared to have a moderating effect in the relation between sexual coping behavior and prostitution attitude. Based on these findings, the study presents practical measures to deter prostitution of spouseless men.

  • Purpose: This study explored the sexual harassment-related experience, awareness, coping, and institutional prevention schemes for health personnel in industrial settings. Methods: Data were collected using self - report questionnaires from 300 health personnels. Data were collected between September 1 and December 31, 2017. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Results: Health personnels experienced 29% of sexual harassment, in order of verbal, visual, physical. The frequency of sexual harassment was higher when women were younger, particularly younger than men. Although the average health personnel's awareness of sexual harassment was high, the common coping style was passive such as distancing form the perpetrator. Institutional efforts to prevent sexual harassment included separating employees and staff, but perpetrators tended to account for a high proportion of the supervisors and staff. Conclusion: Health care managers should develop an effective and effective sexual harassment prevention education program by raising gender equality awareness in relation to the awareness of sexual harassment and identifying the influencing factors that can bring about appropriate sexual harassment coping behavior.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the factors related to adolescence' post-sexual assault attitudes and behaviors. 906 students from 5girls high schools completed self-reported questionnaires. Independent variables are sexual attitudes, rape myth acceptance, perceived importance of sexuality education, parent sexuality education, parent closeness, parent superintendence, family functioning and socioeconomic variables. The data were analyzed by Factor Analysis, Correlation Analysis, Stepwise Multiple Regression Analysis using SPSS program. The significant influencing factors were home sexuality education, perceived necessity & importance of sexuality education, parent closeness, parent superintendence, family functioning, grade, vocational school, rape myth(rapists are mentally ill, dating partner would not be rapist. rapists are stranger), sexual attitudes(sexual permissiveness, gender equality, family planning, STDs & prostitution, marriage and divorce and abortion), and dating experience. Examination of barriers to post-sexual assault coping behaviors and attitudes is critical component of victim recovery and rape prevention. This study would gives basic information to the effective prevention and coping program development related to sexual assault.
