무선 홈 네트워크 서비스 수용을 위한 무선랜용 안테나 (Antenna for Wireless Home Network Service)

  • In this paper, We studied an antenna for the wireless home network service. From the structural modification of patch and ground plane, we made a reverse heart shape radiated pattern of antenna which is suited to wireless home network service. As a result, bandwidth between maximum gains is 110 degree, and the difference of downward direction gain from maximum gain have become -3.6dB. Installing the antenna on the ceiling, horizontal plane of the inner home will be formed the uniform electromagnetic environment. Accordingly, stable reception level acquisition and outdoor radiated suppression could be possible.

Analysis of a cracked bar under a tensile load in a corrosive environment

  • This brief study aims at providing a model to predict the time of service of a cracked bar in corrosive environment, in view of both the fracture mechanics and elastic failure criteria. Dolinskii's assumption on the relationship between stress and the corrosion rate is adopted. It is superimposed with fracture mechanics consideration. A comparison between the time of service of a cracked bar and that of a uniform bar is provided.

Performance of Distributed Database System built on Multicore Systems

  • Recently, huge datasets have been generating rapidly in a variety of fields. Then, there is an urgent need for technologies that will allow efficient and effective processing of huge datasets. Therefore the problems of partitioning a huge dataset effectively and alleviating the processing overhead of the partitioned data efficiently have been a critical factor for scalability and performance in distributed database system. In our work we utilized multicore servers to provide scalable service to our distributed system. The partitioning of database over multicore servers have emerged from a need for new architectural design of distributed database system from scalability and performance concerns in today's data deluge. The system allows uniform access through a web service interface to concurrently distributed databases over multicore servers, using SQMD (Single Query Multiple Database) mechanism based on publish/subscribe paradigm. We will present performance results with the distributed database system built on multicore server, which is time intensive with traditional architectures. We will also discuss future works.

증기발생기 전열관의 파열강도에 미치는 외압의 영향 (Effect of External Pressure on the Burst Strength of Steam Generator Tube)

  • Tracing the study of the burst test of steam generator tube, few studies have been reported to effect of external pressure acting on secondary-side in service condition. In this study the burst tests of Inconel 690TT were conducted in order to evaluate burst strength characteristics under the effect of external pressure. We obtained the result that the burst strength of Inconel 690TT increased when external pressure increased while both total circumferential elongation and uniform burst elongation were not affected. Also, according to the increased of external pressure, the size of the burst opening became smaller and the tear was getting severe.

  • Since th three sides of korea peninsula are surrounded by the sea, electric apparatus are greatly contaminated by the salt generated by the typhoon, seasonal wind, sea wind and sea fog. This contamination causes electric power apparatus to fail. Thus in this paper, we investigated to influence upon electrical properties of outdoor insulators with non-uniformity contamination in the experimental condition because The contamination of outdoor insulator highly depended wind property In the service condition, insulator was not uniformly contaminated. From the flashover test for the 254 mm suspension insulator, we could determine the influence non-uniform contamination on the electrical property of insulators. Through the experiment, we convinced to occur flashover from non-uniform contamination region of outdoor insulator. Contaminated area and pattern has a close relationship with the electrical properties of outdoor insulator.

선박(船舶)의 적화상태(積貨狀態)가 선체진동(船體振動) 특성(特性)에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Loading Conditions on Ship Vibration Characteristics)

  • The loading condition, of a ship, especially a multi-purpose cargo carrier, in service, is often changed. Then, the prediction of natural frequency changes is necessary to provide measures for prevention of ship vibrations. In this paper a simplified method for the above purpose is presented. The bases of the method are analytical solutions for the lateral vibrations of uniform Timoshenko beams carrying a concentrated mass and the Dunkerley's formula. In this method a ship in the standard ballast condition is reduced to a uniform Timoshenko beam having same system parameters as those of the midship section. To investigate the validity of the proposed method, numerical calculations are carried out for a 46,000 DWT bulk carrier and compared with detailed calculations based on the finite difference method. Even in cases those the cargoes in a hold, length of which is about 13% of the ship's length, are reduced to a concentrated mass, the proposed method gives results of several percent differences from the detailed calculations up to the six-noded mode.

Analysis of Voter's Acceptance to Female Politician's Appearance

  • A Politician Appearance Acceptance Model (PAAM model) was formed and designed based on an analysis of how the electorate would accept a female politician. The PAAM model evaluated factors which influenced the voter's view of the female politician based on appearance. Causative factors were assessed that impacted acceptance based on appearance and analyzed whether voting was influenced by the appearance image; appearance image preferences for a female politician included the classic, dramatic, romantic and natural images. Through validations, the appearance image and competency had a causative factor that contributed to the acceptance of the politician image. The Classic Image demonstrated the strongest and most important image among the appearance images. As voters were more interested in the appearance image of a female politician, more emphasis and weight was on the appearance image during the voting selection process.

  • DS/CDMA 시스템에서 이동국들이 불균일하게 분포되어 있을 때, 모든 기지국에서 동일한 전력으로 수신되도록 하는 시스템에서는 통화 품질의 불균일이 초래된다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 각 기지국들의 요구 수신 전력을 기지국의 부하에 따라 제어하고 양방향 셀 영역의 균형을 위해 파일롯 채널의 전력을 조절해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 이동국들의 불균일 분포에 따른 기지국 요구 수신 전력 제어, 셀 영역의 균형을 위한 파일롯 채널의 전력 제어, 순방향 통화 채널을 위한 전력 할당, 소프트 핸드오프와 합성 수신을 고려하여 일반화시킨 DS/CDMA 셀룰라 시스템 모델을 제시한다. 또한, 제시된 모델의 응용의 예로 무선망 초기 설계 과정과 결과를 보였다.

폐기물고형연료 발열량에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구 (A study on determinants having influence on heating value of waste-derived solid fuels)

  • 폐기물을 이용한 고형연료의 제조는 온실가스 저감과 대체연료로써의 이윤 창출 목적으로 많은 연구가 진행되었고, 이로 인해 상용화가 이루어 질 정도로 기술적인 발전을 거듭 하였다. 하지만, 단일폐기물에 대한 고형연료의 제조는 성분 변화가 별로 없지만 여러 가지 폐기물을 혼합하여 고형연료를 만들 경우에는 주의가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 다양한 폐기물을 이용하여 제조한 고형연료의 특성 분석을 하였다. 특성분석 결과 성형 전 폐기물과 성형 후 고형연료는 발열량 차이가 크게 나타났으며, 그 원인으로는 폐기물의 성상, 수분, 혼합정도에 기인되었다. 균일 혼합 후 폐기물 고형연료는 발열량이 6,000kcal/kg을 넘었다.

  • 지능망은 사용자의 다양한 서비스 요구에 부응하여 여러 가지 서비스를 보다 간단히 개발 적용시키는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이에 따라 차세대 지능망 플랫폼은 빠른 서비스 처리, 다양한 서비스의 동적 적용 등이 가능한 시스템이 되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 차세대 지능망 플랫폼의 핵심이 되는 SCP(Service Control Point)를 설계하고 구현하였으며, 특히, 설계시 확장성, 동적 서비스 분배 및 인터넷 환경을 고려한 빠른 서비스 처리 등의 지원에 중점을 두었다. 이 SCP는 시스템 운용을 담당하는 전용 커널, 전체 서비스를 관리하는 서비스 관리자, 각 서비스 별로 SLPI(Service Logic processing Program Instance)를 관리하는 SLPI 관리자 등으로 구성되어 있으며, 사용자 요청은 각각의 SLPI들에 의해 처리된다. 또한, 구현된 SCP상에서 동작하는 서비스의 손쉬운 생성을 지원하는 SCE(Service Creation Environment)환경을 제시하고, 이를 이용한 서비스 적용 예도 보인다. 현재 구현된 모든 구성 요소들은 유선 인터넷 환경을 고려하여 설계되었으며, 향후 IMT-2000 환경으로의 적용도 가능할 수 있도록 각 부분별로 구분하여 설계하였다.
